That's it for now. Having had our 1st snow fall this week (and it stayed for a couple of days) & more forecast this week, I think its time for me to retire my bike to the back of the garage until next year.

As much as I want to ride through the winter I can't justify the risk of an accident when I have a perfectly good push bike & car to get me around.

Sensible mate!

I put the viffer away a few weeks ago now. I miss it, but its for the best haha

Still not managed to drag mine out. Got some new microfibre cloths and a spray gun for the hose pipe but some **** has moved/nicked the connector off the end. I took a quick picture after fitting the tail tidy

As you can see my mates 'blade is sat in bits too, he picked up a exhaust system which was from a 04-05 bike, he was adamant it would fit his 07 bike but alas the headers are different. So mine sat all dirty and his in bits, both bikes look a bit sorry for themselves.  :rain: The light isnt helping either, by the time I'm home even on a early shift theres barely a couple of hours light left. Roll on spring gerrrr.

Looks loads better!

I want one but my luggage rack goes behind the numberplate :(.

Any further on an exhaust? Or have you had enough exhaust troubles for a while? ;) aha.

Well, I picked up the new Peugeot VOX 110cc scooter today in the pouring rain... the first few miles were absolutely terrifying on slick, wet and greasy town roads bedding in the teeny wax-covered Kenda 2.5" wide tyres, probably the most scared I have ever felt on any bike, anywhere..... :whew:

What a lovely little thing though, just like my old C90 Cub, but better.  A joy to have a manual choke and carb again, no EFI and the lovely semi-auto box.  Seems to pull well low down, was teasing it along running it in, but copes well with my 140kg and the local hills.

I can genuinely say that the process of choosing this scooter, the buying of it and dealing with the garage was more pleasurable than when I spent £15k on a new BMW tourer a while back.

All I need now is..........summer  :D

This is my present ride.

Haha, I've let my mate get on with it, enough stress of my own. The CB will deffo be getting a can, before summer. It's just deciding which, on top of the previous ones I found these I like too;

IXRACE_Z7_Series_Dual_Exit_Road_Legal_Si

GG_GPS_Silencer_HONDA_CB_1000_R_2008_on_

So it's between 5 :D Actually I think it's between 4, I've gone off the GP style can I posted before.

Sounds wicked, what tyres are on it? Something better than the crappy bike tyres they put on the YBR? As you say roll on summer, should be a hoot!

Theres no shortage is there! Haha.

They all look quite loud?

Not theres anything wrong with loud. Just too loud can be abit annoying after a while? Aha

Middle one looks the best.

This is the 4th option that I posted before

IXIL_Hyperlow_Dual_Exit_Silencer_HONDA_C

They are all road legal with baffles and from the videos on YouTube they all sound fairly sensible and all turn it bit mental without them so I'll have a choice, more than likely the first tbh. I want more noise but not ear bleeding noise.

Prices are

£285 for the IXRACE (picture 1)

£356 for the G&G Dustbin (2)

£240 for the Mivv Double gun BUT they want another £70 for the cat cover which comes with the rest, crafty ****ers (3)

£175 for the IXIL above (4)

I'll be honest, I'm happy to pay for any of them so the price doesnt really come into, I did think maybe the IXIL was a bit cheap if its so cheap but user reviews come out favourably. I'm normally pretty quick to pick my favourite but I'm torn and they're all so different too! Part of me really likes the ASBO looking G&G but then I also like the funky IXRACE and smaller/subtle Mivv. Hummmm :D

Actually looking at them all on the same page, the last one (IXIL) doesnt really look half as good as the rest, even if it is half the price of them.

This is the problem. Its all personal taste.

Tbf. I kinda wish i went for the carbon cans for the vfr.

Its too late now though.

Its no good us answering tbf mate. I mean this in the nicest possible way, but its a personal choice, and its your bike.

Unless you wanna tell me your bank details n ill surprise you? ;) hahaa.

They all look good.

My first reaction was the G&G but after looking at the pictures a bit more i'm really liking the IXRACE. Its a bit different and IMO the way its styled it really suits the bike and it looks like a quality expensive piece of kit. Is it square tubing or round?

Also the IMAX picture doesn't have a tail tidy on. With a tail tidy it will look even better.

So im saying IXRACE but it really is only your choice so have fun making it :sun:

I like loud exhausts, not chav loud but enough  to know your riding some sort of beast lol. Since I took the baffle out of my GP can it makes me smile every time I twist the throttle  In comparison the standard stock exhaust on my ZXR is heavy and you cant hear it, when I put the aftermarket can on, it transforms the bike. The stock can on my zed just looks big and clumsy. Cant comment on the sound because Ive never heard the Zed with the stock exhaust on

God I want to get on my bike right now after reading these posts

Yes, it is a lovely little thing so far, the original tyres are Kendas 2.5 x 17 on front and 2.75 x 17 rear, so stacks of grip there then :D  :D

I bet it will actually be quite grippy when the wax and bobbles have worn off and the roads dry up, but the first few miles on wet roads were like riding cart wheels across a frozen lake.

Should have done a burn out as soon as you got on it, at least that would have sorted the back tyre

I know what you're saying

Im really struggling atm. I want to ride the bike :(

Far too much salt n what not on the road though :(

:D Yeah sounds like a plan. I know what you mean, I just thought I'd share the options and see which you guys would go for. To be totally honest I think I'd be happy with any of them, they all look good.

Same here, nothing too OTT just a bit of a grumble when I WOT it will be nice. I do like the IXRACE, mainly because it looks a bit 'out there' but then I think they're not very common bikes anyway so I'm not likely to find another with the same exhaust in my local cafe.

I've managed for the first time in a good two weeks to get the bike out today! Last night I found a deal for a Autogylm kit at Halfords, one day offer it was £48 down to £20! Only 3 stores had any stock when I looked, one of them being 20 miles away so I reserved one. This morning I dropped the Mrs off, got back and the sun was just starting to poke through the clouds. Thought **** it, best chance I'll get for a while so got the bike out the garage and got kitted up. Nice little ride down there, a CBR Blackbird made me jump, I was already going well enough down the bypass then the ****er came flying past me :D I was going to go the really twisty route but it get covered in mud sometimes, didnt fancy it with the road being wet still. The way I did go wasnt much better tbh, a few bits were pretty mucky. Arrived at the shop quite dirty!

Got the kit, headed home, was tempted to go a longer way but though better of it. I've not actually cleaned the bike yet since buying it I was riding it at every chance before winter set in then I've just not had the chance or its been too bloody cold. So I thought I'll get back and give it a clean, I dont mind it sitting for weeks if it's clean. By the time I was home it certainly needed it...

The tail tidy leaves the water getting launched up my back by the looks of it :D Gave it a quick wash, needs a claying and polish but I'll wait till I have the whole garage free or a good dry day before I do that. Not too bad for now though

However, under all the dirt and grim on the exhaust cover there signs of scabs on it

The new exhaust is top of the list now, hopefully in the new year once christmas is out the way or failing that my birthday in February. I best get deciding!

Must be somewhat nicer where you are mate, its been snowing all day here. Riding a bike would be suicide haha.

I've just been out in the car. Navigating corners with the handbrake of course.

Ooh I'll look forward to hearing what you decide on (:

I'm about 2 and a half hours south of you, thankfully.  :rain: Make a snowman? :D

I rode my son's 500 to Gloucester on Wednesday to get some new heated grips fitted. It was COLD!

The return journey was much nicer. Just love those warm hands. Bransons motorcycles doing Oxford Touring grips for the mighty sum of £99 supplied and fitted.

I went over to my nearest dealer and bought a brand new unregistered Peugeot VOX 110 (£1699+otr) for £1190 including a box fitted, a longer front mudguard and first service.

It gets a two year full warranty too.

What sold it to me was the local dealer was great, the finish on it extremely good (even if much of it Chinese sourced), the tiny thing is rated to carry my immense bulk plus 25kg of luggage, it has an enclosed chain and all of it is easy to fiddle with when out of warranty, it has a decent tank size of 4 litres and is rated at 120mpg urban, 256mpg extra urban!

Road tests get it to 60mph easily, 73 downhill and 50+ uphill so just right for round here.

Do you mind me asking where this dealer is? Mentioned it to a old boy on another forum after a cheap run about.....

Hi-I bought from ReadSpeed in Stourport-on-Severn, dealt with father and son Damien and Phil, very nice dealers indeed, could not have been better.

The Vox is £400 off the £1699 rrp until 31st Dec, as a Peugeot deal, see website, I have got their 2015 range brochure and it is not showing, so guess it is only on stock remaining.

They knocked off a bit more and chucked in a few bits as they needed space and it was December.  The going rate seems to be £1299+otr for them.

Having used it a bit, the mpg seems optimistic for me and my weight (140kg+gear) but even while running in and in our hilly area, I've had 100 miles from £3 so far, which is good considering the payload...!!

Speed-wise, for me it tops out around 53mph on the flat, more downhill, which is much slower than on the reviews I read, but it pootles just lovely around 45mph around the lanes sipping fuel, almost silently, absorbing the bumps and letting you take it all in.  It is slow, but I like it!

My CG was absolutely flat out at 60mph, but that was screaming.

45mph was a realistic cruising speed.

So that sounds about right tbf.

Take it up Dinmore Mender

Thanks mender, I've passed the info on.

I reckon it'll loosen up a little as it gets run in, not loads but another 5mph or so. First bike a rode was a old C50 :D Slow but fun too.

Hes right when he says the slow ones are more fun. You can push em IMO.

I cant push my bike on the road. Id get banned.
