Well this leaves me eager to learn more......

Quick test vid with the GoPro/CB/Editing software. Wanted to see if you could hear the bike over the wind noise much.

Nothing exciting happens at all so dont expect anything interesting :D Being a relatively new rider constructive criticism on my riding welcome. Weather was a bit damp hence my taking it easy.

Impressive. Good solid safe riding Matt. Filtering like a boss lol. Especially considering the time scales since your pass and upgrading to a much bigger/powerful bike. The footage does make you out to be some kind of giant or a giraffe though :D

Really need to have a go with the cheapy camera I got in the summer. Its still brand new in the unopened box on my desk staring at me every day.

I would prefer mine to be mounted on the bike then I cant get caught out looking at all the ladies on a nice summers day :peek:  :D

Recognise that but i cant think what off.

R6?

Redlines quite high

Yes it looks familiar to me too. Defo something Jap and my first thought was an R1 or gixxer.

Have to go and have a hunt for what it could be.

Garry - Is this the bigger bike or same size but bigger engine?

Just had a quick look on google.

R1 or r6 clocks tend to have the digital read out on the left, but look similar.

Gsxr ones have it on the right but i cant see any like that

Not sure about CBR

It's a ZX6R unless I'm way off, the red key gives it away :)

You're right i think! Google reckons so anyway.

So whats his prize Gary? ;)

Excellent choice.

That's why it looked so familiar to me lol When I was looking around for a new bike this year my shortlist was a zx6r P8F. I was due to go and look at one but my chance bid on the Z750R was the highest and I won. So the ZX6 didn't happen. I've still got the option to sell my zxr400 and get a zx6. The 400 will start to go up in value soon hence why ive hung on to it for all this time. Plus its a cracking little bike to hoon around on. Just not comfortable if you are tall.

I like the zx6's. They are nice!

Whats the 400 like then?

I was looking at a vfr 400 the other day on ebay n thought how fun it looks. Not much power but plenty of revs, so fun on the road? Small n light too ofc

They are great to chuck around but you do have to ride them at high revs but they are supposed to be ridden like that.

Both the vfr and the zxr are worth some money if in original condition. Which mine isn't but I do have all the parts.

Mine is the SP version which is a grey import and is the special racing model with adjust rear suspension, close ratio gearbox, slipper clutch and flat slide carbs, single seat unit etc which for a bike that's 20 years old is impressive. My Brother has a normal zxr400 and side by side mine is quicker and the slipper clutch made the biggest difference when we both went on a track day at Donnington. He was locking the back wheel up and having a few arse twitching moments when changing down for the hairpin and I wasn't.

The only down side to it is the carbs need to be set up right and there's not many people that know how to do it and as I said if your tall (im 6ft 2") its not comfortable at all. I once rode it to London and back and I knew about for the next week lol I wouldn't do it again that's for sure.

I still love the Hoover tubes into the tank :) even though I've had a few BMWs I am a Kawasaki man at heart. There are pictures earlier in this thread, ZX750, ZX9R, Z750, Z1000, ZX12R and if I can dig out the old photos, KH250, KH400, H2 750, GPz1100, GPz900R x2 and a zephyr 550 for commuting at one time.

Nice collection there Fluff.

What do you think to the W800?

I never replied on that did I, sorry. Amazing build quality, it out triumphs triumph in that there is not a single bit of chrome plated plastic on it, everything that should be metal is metal. Engine is really torquey low down, I'm running Norman Hyde clubman bars and rear sets so the riding position is spot on.

I removed the baffles on the peashooter exhausts and the sound is spot on. It's just a really well made, easy to ride bike.

Thanks Fluff.

I really like it and from reviews i've read and the few bikes i've seen in the metal they look well put together. I think everyone i've spoken to who has one has also commented on the chrome work being metal. I still like the idea of buying British and I do like the Bonneville but I prefer the look of the w800. Having never ridden either I may not even like them to ride but I would have fun finding out.

Loving the look of a scrambler and noticed the local bike shop had 3 in a few weeks ago. That is very unusual.

What a day, the weather didn't look too bad so rode my bike down todo my volunteer day only to find they have closed early for the year, this left me with a dilemma, go for a ride on my pushbike or go for a ride on my motorbike, as I'm going out on my pushbike for the day tomorrow I took the motorbike today :) , lovely day for a ride (for the time of year) & met up with SWMBO at lunchtime for a pub lunch too :)

I took the scoot for a gentle bimble down the lanes and really enjoyed it, however plastered in mud the bike and I got!

Having had big bikes and doing epic long trips on big tourers, I have found that slowing down to below 50mph and pootling down the back roads is more enjoyable now.

The sky, the views, the smells, the birds, everything.  Amazing.

It's what biking is about for me, enjoying the moment, enjoying the trip, clearing my head, having some me time.  But this time at half the speed and 200mpg.

I've always ridden in all weathers, on all bikes, hence my favouring sturdy stuff like MZs and BMW RTs, but this time it is a scooter, a week old and PLASTERED WITH FILTH, but who cares?  The new cost was under £1200 so how much can I lose?  Not much  :D  :D

Others can save theirs for the summer, I'll be out there grinning like a kid on all of 107cc  :sun:

Garry - Is this the bigger bike or same size but bigger engine?

Smaller lighter bike and smaller engine but moar powwwaaaah!!!

It is indeed a ZX6 p8f variant so about 2008/9 ish. That will be my fun bike

for just me to ride but will also need a bigger tourer style bike for my two up adventures

with Mrs Grr. Most likely a BMW 1200, Just gotta sell the Audi first to release the money I have

tied up in that. Then I can start shopping for new vehicles. I'm replacing the lot next year.

R1200RT possibly.

R1200RT possibly.

I had a new one in 2005, which era you after?

Mine was on of the earliest ones had the single instrument panel fascia which reflected the sun into your eyes.

Best feature on it was the ESA suspension adjust, but bike had a lot of glitches and I had two gearboxes in 6 months as they kept jumping out of gear.

R1200RT possibly.

Big bike. Nice bike.

Dads second choice after the GS. cos hes getting older and the GS is very high.

Hes risen one and loves it.

Im tempted for a 1050 st triumph. I'll not make you guess with any clock photos ;) haha.

R1200RT possibly.

Great choice. THE bike.
