I got the link in email notification, have stolen it and hosted it.

Nice find! Next I expect the Octavia Bar! :D Preferably in Nauders.

Nice one FUBAR. I knew you would give in (just like I did)

I like the 636 and its a great bike.

Bet you cant wait to get out on it (unless you have done already)

However the 1st thing I thought of when I read your post was...... how hungry were you :D

Bit tricky for Fubar and we are all over the country but it would be great to have a brisky biker meet up. Anyone interested?

Was hoping to get out for a quick ride last night but the kids scuppered that plan. Then it started raining so I thought I would fit the leather tank bag instead. Went in the garage at about 8:30 ish came out at 12:30 lol.

Fitted the leather tank bag which wasn't as difficult as I was lead to believe. Then decided to fit the battery lead off my zxr on the Z so I can plug it into the battery optimiser. You have to move a piece of metal bar to get to the battery consisting of 6 allan key head bolts. Guess what? 2 of the heads were completely stripped and rounded off and the 3 others were in poor condition. Managed to get 4 off but the other 2 were going to be difficult. The tops were at an angle so getting pliers on them was not going to work. I tried knocking a screwdriver in to them and trying to free them up enough by knocking them round. Didn't work. Tried knocking a slot in the top and trying to screw them out but that ruined my screwdriver tip and my chisel and didn't work. Tried a screw extracter set but that didn't work either. So I was prepared to find a local back street garage with a welder and see if they could weld another bolt on to the head so I could remove them. Then remember I had some steel drill bits somewhere. Found them drilled the heads off and them got some pliers to remove what was left of the thread. Success and one very happy man. Fitted the battery lead put it all back together with some cross head bolts I had lying around, this time not tightening them with hulk force, and plugged the battery conditioner in. Checked all was well and the bike would start after removing the battery. Yes all is good.

Why is everything so bloody difficult. A job which should take 5 mins ends up taking 2 hours. Story of my life lol

5 day weather forecast says rain and even thunder storms so wont get out much on the bike for a week or so. Although I'm not too bothered about a bit of rain. Cant wait for another ride :-)

Brisky biker meet....

Hmmm, I kind of would but we'd have to have a proper

attempt at arranging one. Won't be easy with everyone scattered

but it's not impossibubble.

Oh and copperslip them up this time :giggle:

Ferries are cheap so you could all come over here for the Ulster Grand Prix, or Armoy Road Races make it a weekend ride, camp site, beer/bbq and epic view of the racing!

A meet might be best at one on the various bike races as it gives an added incentive, just depends which one is best for all. The down side is that dates are fixed for them so time and place may suit all.

Fubar, hope the 636 Ninja goes well, I had the J2 (599) Ninja for several years and it was a great bike, only changed as I wanted a more tour orientated bike

Id defo be up for a meet.

Probably bring a couple of my biker mates for the trip too.

Im sure we could get a decent number together. Itd be brill :).

However the 1st thing I thought of when I read your post was...... how hungry were you :D

That was my entire day from morning to midnight when I got back with bike, food was Tesco 10:00, McDonalds 19:30 while awaiting seller to get back home. A seagull landed on bonnet of car while I ate it!!!

Also I have been looking up the dimensions it's 770mm wide, my gate at side of house opens to max 730mm...... I could cut a section of my back fence out and make a gate from it to give more access, but would rather not as I plan to put a shed there at some point! I have an old corrugated iron shed/shack thing at side of house I was thinking I could just remove the front wall off and have it as a bike shed would be 100% dry in there for now.

As I mentioned before about my gate, I checked the dimensions of the 636 before going to see it. Lucky I did!!!! You can imagine how much tighter it felt when I put it in there last night just after midnight! Here are some snaps from today (well yesterday now)

There is a gap here but pic seemed to bleed in the wood, was about 1mm - 2mm  :peek:

And let her cool off

After sorting insurance (very good price in end), I drove to my local DVA office and bought 6 months VED and went home, took the Velcro bits off lights for the tinted covers, took off the really nice but illegal number plate and put on the one I was given described as the 'MOT plate' (number plates here are regularly targeted on cars, so sod it). Then I hit the road (stopping 3 miles later to fill tank before stretching her legs). Bike was epic! The exhaust sounds  . I made it approx 200 meters before hitting a lovely tar & chipping road and encountered approx 15 different roads at varying stages from just laid to work out in thin strips acting like multiple tram lines on road..  The bike has 2 new tyres on it too which were not scrubbed in so a lively first ride indeed. Couldn't find my mounts for the GoPro after moving, searched high and low :( . One annoying incident was a cager in a baige Toyota estate deciding in a village that the 30mph limit was no longer good enough for him so started to pass me about 20 meters from the NSL sign......  I was fairly unimpressed as I had to wait for the absolute piece of crap to finish passing me so that I could safely accelerate....  :x

All in all a nice first ride and it's been a while since I had sports bike as such, since the GSXR1000. It's so light it feel like a 125 compared to the Z1000SX and a much better power to weight ratio, coupled with the extra 3 or 4000 RPM available, good package and carbs not injection wizardry. I am much happier with this and will happily tour on it. I may put a rack on back for my old top box or just try a tail pack (no had one before), some soft panniers and my pop up tent strapped over back seat

I want more noise on my bike too.

Looking at cans......

What do you use to mount the gopro?

What do you use to mount the gopro?

Here is how I have it mounted can't find many pics of it just this one with my last bike. Self adhesive GoPro curved mount then the 2 arms in a short based 'L' shape. Will need to find the clear case and 'L' bit and my other self adhesive pads to remount it on other side of lid now I am back to using it on the wrong side of the road again for best view :( .

It's a GoPro HD Hero 2 btw, not the best looking thing in the world but in some scenarios it being so obvious can help keep cagers back in their boxes a bit. Will cause no drag for UK speeds. I found over 150mph with a head wind to be heavy on drag and 165mph was limit of fearing if chin strap went helmet would be ripped off my head! Would prob consider looking at some of the latest DRIFT cameras next, or hard wiring a mobius with wide angle lens in weather proof casing to bike itself just under scoop under headlights.

This in the end was what steered me away from the ER6-N. I watched about 15 reviews on youtube and head to head comparisons for class and knowing how much I liked the 4 pipes on the Z1000SX but being so disappointed in the sound from them after the crazy exhaust on the ZZR1400 before it, I started looking at cans for them. I did find a few videos that sounded a lot better, but didn't want to spend so much on a bike at moment and then start doing that. The 636 appeared with a can I knew I would enjoy and I am fairly familiar with the A1p specifically from a mate who I used to tour with who had one etc.

Drive by and 'N' but same animal.

Arrow seem to be very popular too on them

I had a Remus on my Mark 3 Golf.

Was very well made, I'd kind of like one but bike still under warranty so

may have to keep this one standard for a while.

Check with Kawasaki a slip on may not affect it. Kawasaki offer Akrapovic slip ons as an option after all on many models. I'd call Kawasaki UK as a general enquiry, if they say it's good, take their name, time and date and ask them to record the details of the conversation against your bikes reg or vin.

My first bike was a triumph sprint 1050

Then I got the daytona 675 but sadly came off so whilst I wait for my arm to heel the bike is now fixed

Epic first bike!! Love the 675 a really well balanced bike and throttle response on it is so precise, amazing performance from a 3 cylinder and so light and nimble! What year is the 675, have you had it long and what sort of mileage do you have on it out of interest?

ps. Heal well, crap luck!

The 675 is a 2007 reg and has 4300 miles on it and was immaculate before I fell off on my drive! Well balanced bike but my big head made it top heavy :-) kind of miss the sprint so might buy a damaged one to repair over winter.

Just got cast off my arm so counting days to get back on/after I buy a new helmet

My humble Forza 300 scoot next to my brothers 2.3 litre 190 bhp Triumph Rocket III parked up at the East Kirkby bike night on Wednesday

lol that was the final straw when I saw that pic on FB? Operation 2 wheels was then in full effect and executed around 24 hours later. Do you know what he has done to it to get it up to 190bhp?

Just a remap as far as I know

There's no replacement for displacement. :o

I had a SAAB 9000 with a 2.3 engine in it once

but that only had 150bhp. That bike must be billy bonkers.

Ah I see, I did consider that as I have all of those items sat next to me, only thing is I dont know if I want a GoPro mount stuck to my helmet all the time. I guess for a decent POV thats the only way to do it, I cant think of a slightly less permanent method. I'll have to have a think, quite like my lid as it is lol.

Cheers!
