Today I abandoned my wardrobe project and facked off of a ride instead.

Ended up here....

IMAG0296_zpsyolz0z97.jpg

Paid £1.40 for a tin of diet coke from the National Trust robbers and rode back home.

Slightly embarrassed to still have chickenstrips. :(

Just right too, looks nice! I took mine out for a wee ride today too and didn't pay in anywhere muwhahahahah (pics to follow) Sod the chicken strips talk etc, you use what you use of your own tyre, nothing more nothing less. Running off a tyre on the road it something I would hardly ever have done bar on Autobahn corkscrew slip roads :D To get the bike over on it's side and run it off properly I would need to be going a bit harder than I would be fit to react from on a bend on most occasions on the roads about here, :( So I shall bar the odd track day be sporting a little strip myself. The bike has 2 brand new BT021's so not exactly sporty rubber lol, but ideal for me as a bit of a tourer tyre :D :D :D

BIKE BIKE BIKE BIKE BIKE!!!!!!!!

ps/ After another 4 or so hours hunting today destroying the inside of house, I found my GoPro mount and my fav Berik gloves AHHHHHHHHHHHHH Also fired back on the stock indicator lenses rather than the blacked out ones :) Now all is left is to put my new heated grips on I never got round to fitting on the Z1000SX to get rid of the shabby grey ones I have on at mo :D

As for the chicken strips don't be embarresed my mate who rides as fast as me has chicken strips due to his riding style!

I'm not that bothered really, Chicken or stain on road??

I'll be chicken thanks, besides I don't have sticky tyres just

touring tyres.

They aren't totally embarrassing. About >10mm on the rear.

They were about inch and a half when I got the bike.

I get the feeling the last owner was very 'upright'.

Oh, and just splashed a few bob on THIS.

I honestly dont see why people get so hung up on chicken strips.

As said. Its about riding style and the tyres youve got fitted.

Iv got Michelin pilot road 3 and 4's on and i dont hang about sometimes. I keep up with my mate whos got no chicken strips, and iv had my foot scraping in the corners. Yet iv still got 10mm on the back tyre

There's no replacement for displacement. :o

I had a SAAB 9000 with a 2.3 engine in it once

but that only had 150bhp. That bike must be billy bonkers.

A guy who drinks in our local bought one, then went very quiet about it, we finally found out he'd ridden down his drive into his garage, then could not turn it round to get it back out, was a month before he got it sorted so he could take it out again...

Chicken strips on road bikes are fine :) all down to riding style :)

Sent using random stabs with bratwurst like fingers...

Here's my little Yamaha YBR125 that I collected today. Just need to get some miles done and gain some experience then get booked in for my DAS course so I can tear up the L's while looking for a bigger bike :) . Of course I took the long way home & took in one of my cycling routes before stopping at the top of our hill and looking back over Langsett Resevoir for a quick picture, it was only at that point I realised I'd been out for over 2 hours and still had my picnic in the box & it was almost time to pick the boys up from school

My Brtyon50 pushbike GPS/Satnav fits a treat, gives me all the information I'll ever need.

What a clean example.

Nice one Matt!

Another one joins the fold :)

Well done Matt. Love the Garmin.

Looking very clean indeed! I am having general dash envy, especially fuel gauge envy :p AND centre stand envy :( :( :( I miss having one so much!

Nice job Matt! I'm doing just the same as you on the same bike! Starting out by putting a couple thousand miles under a 125 is certainly as enjoyable as it is beneficial as I found out today on my first half day of DAS mod 1 training - all the skills are transferred with zero effort. I actually found it easier maneuvering on a big bike - something to do with extra weight adding stability perhaps.

Carry on getting out there as you are, practicing and you'll be well on your way to bigger things in no time.

Have you any plans for after DAS all done?

Yeah I found the larger bike easier to do the Mod 1 bits for sure, I think maybe the fat back tyre is easier to balance on.

Had to do my 1st U turn in years the other night. I tried to do it without putting my foot down but I wasn't successful

Tried it again and no problem once I remembered to use the clutch and back brake :D

I was surprised at the size of the gap for the U turn. I think unless you let nerves get to you it's the easiest bit of the Mod 1.

Have you any plans for after DAS all done?

Hop on a 600 and learn to ride!  :sun: I'm looking at a naked Fazer s2 but Grr mentioned how the Er-6 was more light and nimble which may suit my frame better. Decisions decisions!

The Fz6n does look gorgeous though, it looks very similar to the MT-07 but can be had for around 3k. Plus underseat exhausts = 1,000 badass points.

I'd say try both, the fazer will be smoother power delivery wise and

of course more powerful. But compared the the Fazer I passed on my ER

is definitely more easy to manage. But the pickup is quite snatchy until you

are used to it. That fazer in the pic looks smart though.

There was a thou one of these outside the test centre the other day when I went, looks lush!

Also, dont know if it's been posted before but to get an idea how you'll fit on a bike this site is good:

Another 'Bikers attack poor car driver' video?

Great video that, although what stood out for me was how ridiculous the guy at 1.53 (with the flowers) looked with a gopro sticking about a foot out of his helmet.

In other news, just discovered the Yam Xj6 - the fazer's successor  :o

Faired or naked I don't care just WANT.

Still a toss up between that and the ER-6 though.
