CitiGo-Go, a Citigo with more Go.

Fair enough. The urge to make it stand out would be far too much for me! It will be better when it's No-Show All-Go!

  • Actually my Yeti is done. Until we move to phase two this winter and fit a 2.0tsi.   While progress on the Citigo is slow it will be done one way or another by the end of the year, in time for meet

  • Yes.   One painted Citigo 4x4 shell and plans made for the next stage. Rebuild basics to allow for the loom to be made are being done over the next two weeks. Then a motorsport electrical speciali

Looking forward to some videos of this on YouTube!

It hasn't tAken that long, once it's finished you'll look back and it'll feel like it only took a few months. I love how everything feels like that lol just doesn't feel like that at the time!

Is cooling going to be an issue with this?

Is cooling going to be an issue with this?

Not expecting it to be.

Big radiator, oil cooler, gearbox oil cooler too going in to increase the service intervals on the comp-spec sequential box.

Lack of air-con now though. ;)

Just issues cooling yourself then lol

No, that's not the plan.

I just bought OEM sunset glass for the back end to help keep it looking stock(ish).

So will this be ready and joining us at the RR day in April/May??

  • Author

The May date is better anyway.

It also gives us more time. ;)

You could always sell it to Skoda for the museum :)

They'd have to join a big list of people who want to buy it ;)

Not if the people spraying the shell up near Jabbasport have anything to do with it.

Went in there for a few days and two weeks on it's not come back...

Turning a tight call into an almost impossibility.

Silver, as it was bought as an ex-demo from Preston Motors.

I like silver, it's good for blending in. :)

It's just getting tidied up and all the fabrication painted to match the rest of the shell.

There's a couple of driving school CitiGo's around here in Silver; I can ask if they have some spare driving school stickers for extra sleeper styling

I'm sure they'd agree to that Lee...

I can sense your frustration with this project Rich. :wall:

It was bad enough for me to wait 8 weeks to get mine sorted let alone 18+months.

Fortunately I guess you have other projects to keep your interest. and take your mind of this one.

Ahhh that sucks :-/

I don't know how you haven't got frustrated with all the waiting! Im frustrated and its not even my car!

As Darren said, fortunately I have other things to keep me busy and I knew it was going to take a while because there were certain fabrication and packaging issues.

The annoyance is when something seems to be simple but takes weeks, but I put it down to workloads.

Feeling a lot happier now I've got my R32 back.

Something to play with. :D

How long have they had the shell to spray - Seems like at least 3 weeks.

I know you are not really rushing to get the job done, but surely if they say they will have it done around a certain time, then a few days maybe is reasonable, but what if you  as a business promised to turn up & then couldn't / wouldn't give a delivery, business would be lost as being unreliable.

So June meet is looking now a remote possibility for a Brisky meet preview. :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Anymore news on the shell?

  • Author

Nope.

Feels like a media blackout...

If I don't hear anything by Monday I'll be driving up there myself.

I would definately be up there :/

Is it still in the paint shop?? :o

  • Author

Yes, it turns out there are a few changes needed and a couple of bits that need filling with metal sheet prior to painting it.

The body shop don't have the ability to do this and are waiting for assistance.

The long and short of it is that in the last five weeks we have accomplished nothing.

Jabba are overworked and doing crazy long days already.

Meanwhile I'm left in an awkward position with a car that's had a lot on money sunk into it and currently is just a shell and a pile of parts due to the stage we are at...

So I either wait for progress or pull the plug.

I'd rather do the former and hope that the workload at Jabba eases off a bit, or they expand the workforce.

Not ideal, but that's where we are.

The amount of work gone into this is immense, you would be mad to pull the plug!

You are just at the paint and build stage, IF you have to wait until autumn then wait, you do not have deadlines to be somewhere with it nor are you entering a major race series with it..

I am sure you will have it finished and I am also sure you would prefer it to be done well and not thrown together in a slap dash manor.

You have been very patient up to this point and I am sure a few more months will fly by, stick with it IMO and enjoy it when you get it. After all God made time and he made lots of it
