Wow OCD level attention to detail RESPECT!, Your not related to Ron Dennis of McLaren or Sheldon Cooper a la Big Bang theory are you?

The whole set of three windows was something crazy, like £150 - £160.

At that level, why tint if you can spot the difference. :)

It's starting to look like a car!

Are those new windows or are they from a breakers?

Engine back in one, seats back in another.

Now that's what I call a day of progress!

Big brake kits turned up today for the Yeti too. :giggle:

Brand new from my favorite East London seller of Skodas. :D

Me and Bill were surprised just how (relatively) cheap these were, and still keeps the car looking stock

Can I test drive this standard car when it's ready...???  :giggle:

Please...

Been Quietly following this and the other BossFox threads and as a retired aircraft engineer have been impressed with standard of work. When you want to go Gas turbine let me know  :giggle:. But back on serious note this is one hell of a project being carried out and take my hat off to you and the people doing the work.

That's not such a crazy idea as you think there is a hybrid jag with twin gas turbines.

I think Bossfox might like the idea of an electric / gas turbine hybrid.

Video footage of this must be obtained and must go viral!

Are there any special plans with regards to camera(s) for this wee run around? I would be wanting 4 running :D

Also for the comedy value a recording of a call to a normal insurance company declaring a few mods  :giggle:

So i'd thought 4 cameras too, but then realised the 2 to the sides would be largely redundant (he won't be alongside anything very long) and i'm now beginning to think a front one might be too. To quote Dominic Toretto, "that thing ain't seen tail lights"

Re the insurance company and mods, is it a CityGo with a new engine, or a TT with a new body?

:D

Do you know whether you're allowed the original plate back on it, or with the chassis modifications, will it have to go on a Q plate?

No idea at this stage.  Probably a Q.

But as it's going to be mainly a bit of a track toy I'm not that concerned because I'll run show plates.

It's a Citigo shell, plenty of custom fabrication, VAG running gear and a WRC gearbox all topped off with an EFR Turbo.

I suspect a VOSA inspector would have heart failure if I suggested it was a lightly modifed car.

Lightly modified? I think that  would be the all time understatement.

The only way to get higher power/weight would be a rocket engine I think!

I take it there's no way of getting an RB26DETT in Boss? :D

That is a valid question.

I asked Jabba about putting a longitudinal engine in the Yeti with a view to using a donor RS4 type thing, but it looked rather tricky.

So I suspect getting a 6 pot inline engine under the Citigo bonnet would be way more tricky.  Gearstick by the rear seats?

Rip the rear seats out of a Rapid and throw one in the back :)

Think the original plate can still go on, after all it's only a CitiGo, ok a fast one but it's still a citiGo

Yes I know Sam. :giggle:

But only IF I decide I need to use it on the road.

I can SORN it and leave it off the road.

There's always a third or a fourth option, donor vehicle registration or a new registration as Its made up of predominantly new parts. Its a bit of a minefield, because of all the different permutations and potential outcomes and probably not worth speculating in a build thread, honest,. :)  . If you are interested in this aspect its probably worth checking out some of the kitcar forums.

Going back to the build, coming along nicely the end looks close Richard..

Suspension (front and back) - original - No

Axles (both) - original - No

Transmission - original - No

Steering assembly - original - Still rack and pinion isn't it?

Engine - original - No

Well, I make it 5 for sure, probabaly 7, and if it had IRS as standard, 9 since it didn't have any axles and still doesn't!
