Well I'm fresh out from........ Brewery Celebrations Organisation Training School,   so I nominate myself for strategy making,   we've got a few months yet   so I'll get some practise in at a Dodgems Control Booth,  do you have anywhere that I pop a token in Richard?

Well I think I've ended up as GTROC rep for the Essex area during 2014 so I'll be able to sneak the Citigo along to a few meets and track days. 

There are a few Sprints too.

Having fitted an engine that was not originally available in the CitiGo, the only way that you are eligible for Sprints & Hillclimbs is by entering under Sports Libre regulations, see MSA Blue Book page 333 here and also comply with the general regulations in Section J here.  It's not a major problem and is definitey easier if the car is competing in road legal condition. You'd be in good company with some of the other "interesting" cars that compete these days.

Bit of an update.

 

New pedal box that was released at the Autosport Show last week going in, to keep the brake servo and lines away from the engine bay.

 

 

Reason being, the downpipe and lack of under bonnet space as shown here.

It looks like there is space under there somewhere... but remember the gaps above the front wheels are actually where the headlights go!

The whole intercooler assembly is actually in front of the headlights, inside the front bumper skin...

 

 

Lastly, a nice shot showing that after all Luke's work on the custom rear suspension set up he has pretty much got the wheel bang on where we wanted it.

Nicely located in the arch without it looking overly lowered.

The Citigo is already on it's new suspension and it just looks "right".

 

Obviously there is still adjustment in the suspension height, camber angle, etc.

 

Still struggling to come to terms with how mad it's going to be.

When you see it, it just looks so... small.

 

There has been talk that we've underestimated the power too and 450bhp may be conservative.

So extra work has been done to the engine to make it stronger than planned.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Time will tell.

 

Just as well it's got a WRC spec gearbox in there. :peek:

Have to say its been a long time in progress and more tricky than expected, not to mention expensive because of things like the gearbox, but while there are quiet times every time I see the thing I just get so excited.

 

I'm hoping the final build will start in a few weeks when it all starts to come together.

 

Last rather tricky bit left is wiring in the new loom and making sure everything talks to everything else...

I'm sure there are people thinking the project wouldn't get all the way through.

There were even some comments to that effect early on.

We have broken the budget too.

But the fact that it's pretty far on now, the final build is in sight and I'm not yet bankrupt are all positive signs.

Once it's done it will do all the main Skoda shows (Castle Combe days and How Fast?) as well as the Mega Meet that's being planned for early August.

 

Plus once it is getting used all the stuff will be on here, like how it did, videos etc...

I think Skoda should get involved now and ask/pay for you to do a tour of the dealerships up an down the country...

It does seem like an age ago that this little car was sitting in front of my desk ready to pop out on the odd test drive then in to a loving owners hands who would do their weekly shopping and off to the local tea dance once a week.........   

 

......... oh how that never went to plan. From the first instance of you bringing a camera in to take pictures and the initial conversation this is one fecking epic build   

 

Completely bonkers, completely genius and I think I speak for a lot of us on here when I say that you sir, need to be commended (or is that sectioned) 

 

It's taken its time, it's not quite there yet but the end is in sight, top marks to everyone who has put their sweat in to this   

 

Will be interesting to see where the first unveiling will be, if it's Coombe, I'm booking Saturday off
