The tricky part is always converting people that are interested into people that put their hand in their pocket when you need them to, on any forum. :)

I'm here waiting lol, as will Bowen.

  • Yes.   One painted Citigo 4x4 shell and plans made for the next stage. Rebuild basics to allow for the loom to be made are being done over the next two weeks. Then a motorsport electrical speciali

What's the cost of a visit to Alton towers these days?

I reckon a spin in this little beast would be more scary and a lot bigger grin factor :) :)

Oh, and stick me down for a seat please Richard.

Pleeeeeeze!

What's the cost of a visit to Alton towers these days?

Based on my last trip to Alton Towers, I reckon it would have been cheaper for me to build a Citigo with more go.

Indeed..Alton Towers slogan used to be "Where the Magic Never Ends" however in the enthusiast communities we changed it to "Where the Wallet Never Closes."

I guess the same could be applied to the Citigo-go-go-go-go...lol

before the hole gets filled.

That's what she said !,

Can't wait to see the engine 'shoe horned' in lol.

An engine bay pic... before the hole gets filled.

Should have the wishbones back from the powercoaters soon too.

Looks all sweet and innocent at the moment!!

Whats the latest Richard?  I tagged you in the pic on Facebook, but other that it being in one piece doesn't really give much else...

They have been refitting bits in line with the guy coming to make the loom in three weeks.

edit:

That reminds me I need to get some new seats as I've pinched the Citigo carbon buckets for the Yeti...

Ah, the pinching game ;). Sorry if I missed it while I was away but what engine management are you fitting to the lump?

Cheers for that, it suddenly did the rounds on FB, but no real info other than a few pictures from this thread.

I just update this thread.

What would you suggest?

Retain the one which comes with the motor and give it a good track map i.e. proper decatted map with aprropriate fuelling maps and trimming,

go for something like this

http://www.haltech.com/product/platinum-sport-series/the-platinum-sport-2000/

or this

http://www.motec.com/m400/m400overview/

or this if it takes your fancy and you can find a specialist to do a proper job for you

http://www.mclarenelectronics.com/Products/Product/TAG-400

Most people will say that for what you need well mapped factory ECu is more than enough and they will probably be right :p

It doesn't matter what I think really, just curious what are YOU going for? :sun:

Top tips, cheers. :)

Is Citigo still going to be a stealth Q-car or you finally decided to go full hog track weapon?

P.S.Still not getting an answer to my question  :'(

With your Yeti vRS being the ultimate Q-Car now (that chase after R8, disregarding who was driving it, was fab and I bet made it worth for you all the money and effort you spent on the project!) Citigo is bound to get upgraded to a higher league  .

Ever thought about anything like hill climbs, time attack or any other low budget form of car competition? I am asking since this one is approaching the state of tune suitable for such things and they are unbelievable fun!

If you want to chase GTROC crowd around some good electronics would help you I suppose *cough* torque vectoring TC *cough*

Problem is Jabo, if I start taking things too seriously I then spend too much on them and stop enjoying it.

It then becomes something I do because I have to try and win, rather than for the fun.

I tend to get a bit competitive.

Was previously into offroading and that's exactly what happened.

Ah, OK, fair enough, I know exactly what you are saying! In any case, perhaps I will be able to see the Citigo on a track somewhere before my eyesight goes due to old age  ;)

My brother in law owns a racing team and he's competing around Europe. He got the bug in epic proportions. He used to buy very rare classic cars, was restoring them and selling, still does it. Now however, racing is his biggest passion. The money he's burning is scary though...

I cannot wait for his '56 GT40 to be fully race ready - when I sat in it with the engine running over X-Mas I was as close to divine experience as I've ever imagined possible. Had to be dragged out screaming and couldn't sleep for a week afterwards!

Must have been a let down to get back in the Fabia.

After all, it's only for a bit of fun really.

A bit of fun? Richard, that's cracked me up   It's 2 bloody years, you have the patience of a saint and the brains/vision of a mad man

Good to know it's still coming along nicely, oh and as for Q car or not, Q car all the way WITH Preston Motors rear sticker and plates*  ;)   .

A set of lights, dip the clutch and BANG  :p

*Alternatively, I think I mentioned earlier on in the thread, DEMONSTRATOR slapped all over it.

I think James I was selling some bucket seats. Not sure if they will be any good?

I kinda took your other option :)

I'm going to get another pair of Tillet ones.

Same as the ones I took out of the Citigo for the Yeti VRS, but without the blue flashes which were originally chosen due to going in a Race Blue Fabia...

Are the seats going to be for skinny folk only, or will us of the wider variety be able to fit in the passenger side? :P

That would be perfect but I don't think Skoda would be too happy as they'd lose all vRS sales mind you with the 2 year + waiting time then people would really be complaining about their build weeks!
