CitiGo-Go, a Citigo with more Go.

Featured Replies

Actually my Yeti is done.

Until we move to phase two this winter and fit a 2.0tsi.

While progress on the Citigo is slow it will be done one way or another by the end of the year, in time for meets and track days next year.

I know the time it's taking has become something of a standing Briskoda joke, but these things take time.  It certainly doesn't provide encouragement.

I could have had it cracked out in six months or so, but the cost would have been astronomical.  Like 80k.  A lot to fund in a short time.

It's being done around other jobs for a sensible price, by a garage that have had a few staffing issues.

No, I'm not over the moon about it.  But we have to keep plugging on.  Not sure what other options there are?

We need to finish building the car back up, now everything is known to fit.  Then a wiring loom and mapping.

I'm around £38k into the build, so pulling the plug isn't an option.

Especially considering the total predicted cost of just under £50k is firm as all the main parts are bought and built.

The expanding timescale had also had some fringe benefits, like allowing me to spread the cost of the project and do other stuff like the GT-R, Skyline and Yeti VRS...

Wow! Mind if I ask what you do for a living?

  • Yes.   One painted Citigo 4x4 shell and plans made for the next stage. Rebuild basics to allow for the loom to be made are being done over the next two weeks. Then a motorsport electrical speciali

It's not a pishing contest. :)

"Some" is accurate enough.

I thought BossFox was in charge of Skoda R&D?  :D

Ohh right! Could BossFox be designing something totally different and just hiding it in a CitiGo shell like the Jaguar XJ220 Transit mk4

Not more ideas  :peek:  :D

anyway, back on topic, its a Citigo with a jet engine ;)

Well someone from Essex ditch buy that decommissioned jet that was advertised. But whatever You do with this Richard my hats off to you, you have to have some brass balls to pilot the Citygogo when she/it gets finished. I'm more than happy to scream like a big girl in the passenger seat if you offer rides.

for some reason, it may of been said before, this citigo almost reminds me of the Metro 6R4, a small car with a massive engine, it could have also been the XJ220 comment up above!

It was also said of the 6R4 that "it looked more like a bog than a standard MG Metro" which is pretty much the diametric opposite of the CitiGoGo.

Yep the XJ200 did have a, engine derived from the 6R4 (plus 2 turbos ). With all the wings and side pods it didn't look like a standard Metro. I've always said my dream car would be a MG Maestro or Montego 6R4. I believe 6r4's had a Maestro floorplan anyway. This being bigger would look much more like a standard car than the metro.

Is it done yet? :)

If you don't stop asking, he's going to put it back to stock!

Yeah right, it would be easier to make it into a pretty cube and buy another one than put it back to stock!!

The whole set of three windows was something crazy, like £150 - £160.

At that level, why tint if you can spot the difference. :)

Random question, where did you get the original sunset glass?

You're basically designing a new concept car on the hop, it takes big name manufacturers with huge pockets as long, I think you've done well to have it almost there in 2yrs!

From a Skoda Dealer.

Preston Motors in East London in this case.

It's not as expensive as you'd think.

Handy thing with a three door Citigo is that all three pieces are non-opening which makes fitting a lot easier.
