Bum, the Constanza is now heading to Grimsby so my return trip hopes are dashed. Now watching the Weser Highway just arriving Emden, in hopes it goes to Sheerness.

Sorry for becoming a ship spotter.

Hopefully mines already at grimsby or on that getting dropped off :)

*EDIT* mine is at UK port :)

Not literally I hope. you probably wouldn't want a bent or soggy car if its been dropped off the boat.  :giggle:

Sorry for becoming a ship spotter.

Don't be sorry, when Skoda UK told me the vessel mine was on & the fact it was approaching Grimsby I started tracking it down the river & onto it's berth. Sad I know - a fact that SWMBO pointed out. She even went so far as to say "It's only a car". The cheek of it.

Just had a phone call from my dealer and I'm now very unhappy.

When order he quoted "Nov for build", 12-13 weeks from order so week 45 or 46. This has just been pushed back to week 3. So instead of 12-13 weeks as quoted I'm looking at more like 22-23 weeks plus wait for build. That's not including transport either so I'd expect it will arrive in middle to end of February. Seriously p*ssed off, especially as the plate change happens in March. Do you think it's possible to get some compensation as effectively I'm buying 'last years' car?

Also if I get too down and decide to just cancel is the deposit already paid refundable in such circumstances?

My order was :

vRS estate 2.0 TDI DSG in Silver Metallic with Sunset glass, vRS leather seats (grey stitch), Heated seats, Black design package, Gemini Anthracite alloys, Adaptive Cruise Control, Amundsen sat nav, Canton sound system, Parking assistant, Mitsumi, Boot net, Maxi dot Colour, Heated front window, Heated washer jets, Temporary space saver spare wheel.

^^ did you miss anything from the spec list???

I don't want to appear negative but actually you ordered a 2014 model car, (which has been available since about July and the 2015 model will probably be available from about July 2014, don't ask)

From the various threads, the only car that have been delivered in 12 weeks are stock, add any number of options and the delivery times almost double. This is a common issue with the dealers giving unrealistic times when an order has options.

As for compensation, I think there is more chance of a 4x4 vRS, but you can ask. Or you can cancel and you should get your deposit back. Or ask your Dealer to ensure that the delivery is the 1st March, it's only 2 more weeks and you get a 14 plate.

I was in the same boat, and looked at alternative car and found that other manufacturer had similar delays, but the decision is yours.

Welcome to the world of the Skoda Lottery System!!! BUt seriously, I dont know about deposit refunds unfortunately.

However, when mk2 FL's were struggling to be supplied a year or two ago, if the order went over XX amount of weeks then they were doing vouchers, freebies etc etc, so it could certainly be worth looking into, thats almost doubling of your order quote time, its madness, I suppose I am in teh same boat really, ordered a week ago and just waiting to get my provisional build details, be interesting if mine is quoted similar to yours.

Mine is here in the UK and was ordered mid June, a new build not stock car with lots of extras, so that's about 15 weeks from order so not quite sure where you get that statement about double wait build times for new build cars ?......its clearly not the case !!...sorry mate but you re just wrong !

Did they offer any reason as to why?

Feel your pain. You have specced a few things that I haven't such as Canton, Sat Nav, Park Assist and Leather, but apart from that virtually the same. Ordered mine on the 20th July, told build week 40, was brought forward to week 37, and apparently is now somewhere between Sheerness and the dealer. I believe the Pano roof has caused some major delays, and that similar issues now possibly surround KESSY. I think someone has also mentioned issues with ACC? Which possibly also knocks on to park assist.

In terms of final delivery and the aim to now get a 14 plate. On the sale agreement it normally states that the sale should be completed within 10 (working days) of the car arriving at the dealers, which in the past they forced people to adhere to. However, in your case I think you have a very good case to get a 1st March delivery if your build is delayed by that much.

On the plus side though, they should honour the deal you have made and then you get to drive your existing car all winter and then a new car for the spring.

I wonder what the hold up is on that list? Ask the dealer?

So I'm wrong, but I'm also right as many posts on this forum show. You may just be have lucky.

If you follow a lot of posts there are plenty of people who have ordered factory build cars and taken delivery in similar timescales, I think your claims that newbuilds are all twice the norm is just not correct im afraid, and stock models are much quicker to arrive so not sure what you base your times on ?

My factory order vRS with several options was built 5 weeks after order and should be here next week, so around 8 weeks from order to delivery.

Depressing news from norwegian dealer regarding Adaptive cruise/front assist, i was told up to 6 months delivery... sucks that skoda is on the bottom of the vag chain..

As i am in the process of ordering, this is like :wall::swear:

I have read my post back and can see where the disagreement has come from.

I should have said add some of the options.

I am sorry that it was misconstrued as all ordered.

Ordered my VRs tdi manual hatch 3 weeks ago - projected build wk4.....eeeek.

Didn't tick THAT many options lol

Going to be an interesting winter on 2 wheels lol

I ordered my TSI VRS with pano roof, ACC, KESSY and lots of other options. Just got a call today from my dealer... delivery on week 48! Ordered August 27th.

I've just been told that my car is not now going to be built until wc. 21st October which will more than likely mean that I will have to pay for 6 months road tax... Not happy.

So I might now add the Sat Nav to it as its been delayed.

I wonder what the hold up is on that list? Ask the dealer?

Dealer didn't know what it was. He said it was just 'too many orders' which seems like a heap of crap to me. I'll try ringing Skoda on Monday and see what they say.

I've also just remembered that my A4 (that I'm part ex'ing) is due it's MOT 20th Feb. Arggggg not happy. Not happy at all. Anyone ever heard of a dealer taking your part ex early? lol

Yop dealer already taken my part ex in !!!

Hoping to get something to use over winter but using my other car at the moment.

"I'm terribly sorry, I'm away for the last three weeks of February on holiday/a spiritual retreat/a business trip etc - obviously I thought I'd long have picked up my car when I booked/agreed to go on this. Can we sort it all out when I get back at the start of March? Just stick it in the corner and get one of those nice 14 plates stuck on it for when I get back."

Like your thinking JJJ66.

I only brought this up as a number of the Fabia VRS guys were bullied about collection around plate change time, even after waiting in some cases as long as 6 months for delivery.

When I order mine, I was asked by the dealer if I wanted to delay the delivery by 3 week so I got a 14 plate. I wasn't bothered at the time, so don't known how the dealer intend to do it.
