If it's the one I saw this morning, it looked very nice. Steel grey really suits it, so glad I pick that too.

Forgot to add, that I am not being allowed to change to the 0% pcp option, I am having to stay on the original finance option to get the free servicing.

Also if you haven't been in yet, the phone call to organised the 7 days free insurance is a pretty hard sell of a years insurance, just be careful what you agree to. But they reduced the quote by £50, whilst I was phone, but I am still going to shop around.

There are several threads one here previously advising that the dealer can't stop you from switching finance deals if a better deal is available at delivery, if the 0% deal is better overall, tell them that you will cancel if they won't let you switch and speak to SUK to get them to confirm that you can switch, as long as you have not yet signed, there should be no issues. SUK website also says you can have free servicing with the 0% Solutions finance so your dealer is having a giraffe!

Been told the last couple of days that my vRS ordered 20/9 is provisional for week 4, but they are confident it will come forward to December sometime, but this is Skoda, so who knows!!!

I bet it was. Was in the shop today going through the usual pre delivery work. Glad to hear it looks good. I really cannot wait to see it!!

Wow - that's fairly ridiculous about not letting you switch. Who were you working with? Now that Kevin has left, I'm with David who has been nothing but helpful. (But saying that, I switched to 0% in July and added more goodies and signed docs last week and all said 0% with free servicing).

Re insurance: I got the more apathetic night shift. :-) Called them Wednesday night at 830PM and they didn't even try to sell me the full year. Just took my details and sent the cover note to the dealer.

I have waited too long to start arguing now. To be honest I am not that fussed about the changing to pcp (please don't restart that debate). It was always my intention to cancel the finance within the 14 days, just to get the free servicing, but it would have been nice to leave the money in the bank get it's 0.01% or whatever the c****y rate is.

Fair play, sounds like ur in same boat as me, just taking finance for the freebies, then cancelling, I had just read ur earlier post as though you did want 0%, and the dealer was taking the proverbial, but if ur like me, you prob got a bigger discount than they could offer with the 0%, so we'll give them the benefit of the doubt, hope you enjoy your new motor!

Why is there so much confusion about delivery? Surely a major car firm like Skoda know when they are beginning production!!

I have a hatch VRS on order but when I placed it, was told December or more likely Jan for delivery.  I am not reading anything that makes me think its going to be earlier (even though the dealer told me my car is showing to be build in week 38, still no chassis number or updated status) therefore it aint being built!!

Very frustrating but I think anyone who gets their hatch before Christmas is going to be the exception, not the rule (call me a pessimist or realistic!)

My VRS hatch will be with my dealer next week. Was a week 38 build arrived in uk on 30/09. Can't realistically collect until 21/10 due to my shifts

Spoke to my dealer yesterday, my vRS hatch build date has gone back to week 3 of 2014 despite the fact it was ordered 23/08/13. Had hoped that because skoda had started building them earlier my date would come forward not go back again!! Going to be a long wait!

Just been told if we order this week we won't get car till February :(

Thats really good ordered mine on launch date mid July, and dealer has just told me that my build date as escalated to Feb 7th so expect  delivery end of March but it will be on a 14 plate.

So perhaps I won't be coming back to this forum quite so often as initially told I would be driving it by now!!!!!!

If you exercise the right to withdraw within the 14 days, you wouldn't keep the free servicing anyways as you are saying that, actually, I don't want anything to do with the finance and I made a mistake by taking it.  You would have to make at least one payment then pay off to keep any free servicing with the finance

Nelly - there are several posts on another thread where people kept the servicing and settled in the 14 days.

What information do you have to give Skoda UK to get a delivery update ?

I jsut gave them my name and the dealer i ordered from.

Name and dealer you ordered from. Try and get an SLI number which speeds things up next time you call.

That is incorrect - like others I have done just that & just to make sure got it in writing first before paying it off. All it costs you is £1.93 per day interest from the date you sign the agreement to the date you formally withdraw from the agreement (within the 14 day cooling off period).

Generally how many days/weeks can they tell you a provisional build date after placing the order?
