Not sure which port the car arrived into, but my dealer is Progress Skoda in Letchworth. I think mine arrived last Thursday.

Eddie Stobart took over the transportation of all VAG cars recently, apparently. Word has it that they're still finding their feet and that all dealers are desperate to get their cars registered by the 30th September (today), for the sake of their sales targets.

There are quiet a number of transport firms that carry cars from Grimsby port and one of the largest is ECM and I regularly see their vehicles with Skoda & VW cars on board. I have yet to see a Stobart car transporter in the area, maybe they are working out of other ports.

It's in the UK

Dealer couldn't entirely remember what Skoda said when he rang but he thought they said my car was currently scheduled to be built week 10

Absolutely furious

Thanks for this, interesting reading.

Does anyone else find it interesting that for a supposed 'economy' brand, that for the new A7 Octavia, 2 of the top 3 models by volume are the top spec with the biggest engine. Myself contributing to that volume.

Not too many reds ordered on here...anybody else same spec?

That's great news JKW! Is this your first Skoda and if so, what did you change from and why?Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4

Yes, first ever Skoda & if this one continues to please me as much as it does now It won't be the last !

My previous car was a Honda Insight (hybrid) which I'd bought because my BMW was getting too expensive to run. The Honda was OK even though the money went into the technology rather than the plasticky, rattly interior . However, the CVT gearbox failed 3 months out of warranty at 29000 miles despite full Honda servicing throughout the car's life.

After an initial goodwill offer of £7000 towards the total £10,000 repair bill (!?!) I eventually got them to fully refund me ,less VAT, but my faith in the Honda product was severely dented, and on collecting it from the repair workshop I drove straight to the Skoda dealership & ordered an Octy 3 which I received yesterday (10 weeks from start to collection).

Incidentally, during that 10 week wait I did wonder if I'd chosen the right colour (candy white) but have got to say it looks magnificent and runs beautifully , no squeaks or rattles and rides so smoothly it puts the Honda to shame.

I know I've banged on a bit, but you did ask (what & why ?) and I'm so delighted I just got carried away !

PS wish I knew how to put pics on the Forum !!

Hi Guys.

This is my first post, and hopefully what I am about to say does not cause to much dissapointment.

I ordered a diesel Octavia VRS on Saturday 21/09/13, which means the order would probably have been sent to Skoda on Monday 23/09/13.

I contacted my dealer today (01/10/13) to enquire about build and delivery dates.

He informed me that he had contacted Skoda UK who told him that my order had been accepted by the factory and an order number issued, however they WERE NOT building the hatchbacks until DECEMBER.

He also stated that Skoda could not provide a build or delivery date at present and my vehicle would take longer than normal because of the extras i had ordered.

He said he would keep an eye on the situation but realistically I should contact him nearer to December, and hopefully he will have an accurate update by then.

I am not by any means slating the dealer, as his hands are tied by Skoda. In fact the dealership I went to were very helpfull.

Not the news that me or any of you probably wanted to hear.

My vehicle is

Diesel Octavia VRS Hatchback

Gemini anthracite alloys

Race Blue

Leather interior (red stitching)

Heated seats

Amundsen Sat Nav

Cruise Control

Black pack

Spare wheel

With all the orders that have gone in, i doubt I'll see my hatch much before March next year then, if they only start the hatch builds in December. I pretty much expected next year anyway, but a bit surprised on the actual build commencement.

Hi frasreid, they've said for a while that hatchbacks would not start getting built till November, with dealer cars being built first. So it may be the backlog will take your build into December.

This is why I changed my order from a hatch to an estate in mid August.

Hope your lucky pal and you get it sooner.

Mine should be at the dealer today :) will try go get some photos

Fingers crossed. My brother ordered a petrol VRS hatch from a different dealer about a week before me. He is going to contact them today, so it will be interesting to see what they tell him.

I ordered a race blue petrol VRS hatch on the 4th August, only options specified were sunset glass and Mitsumi. Just finished a phonecall with SUK who state that my provisional build week is 2. I knew there'd be a delay from order to delivery and that I'd likely be taking hold of the car early Jan, but at this rate it's likely to be Feb before I get the car. This would have been my 3rd VRS in a row but at this rate, I may decide to take my business elsewhere, especially since I've had to chase them to even get a provisional build date.

Just found out mine is in a UK port, so hoping to get a confirmed delivery date very soon, hopefully before 14th as having an op that'll mean i can't drive for 6-8 weeks, gutted, it'll be sat on driveway unused :-(

saw mine this afternoon at the dealers (Sparshatts Botley) along with another candy white vrs. Picking it up on Sunday :)

Mine's from (Sparshatts Botley) too, Candi White Combi vRS TDI,
