Dealer phoned today and left a message that car is at Emden waiting for a boat and he would phoned again on Wednesday with an update.

I take this to mean that there is a boat on Tuesday/Wednesday to Sheerness.

He also said that Skoda were trying to get extra boat space to clear the backlog, and he hoped to be able to get the car to me by the end of September.

How much is true and how much is dealer spin don't know.

I ordered mine on 1 August and it's currently scheduled for week 43.  :(

 

I have gone for lots of options though.

I can see that the VRS is suffering massive delays but can anyone give me an update on the average wait time for an Elegance 2.0 TDI?

 

I ordered my 2.0 TDi Elegance estate on 24th August and due mid November so 12 weeks. Although the only extras are metallic paint (race blue), spare wheel and sunset glass so if you load extras on could take longer

I've just called SUK for an update and was told that mine is still at status 10 with a build week of 46.

 

I did say that I know of somebody who has been told theirs is en-route to Emden and he said that is extremely unlikely as not a single one (other than press) have been built yet.

I'd like to think that having made 2 calls and both being different reps and both mentioning Emden that it would be true and it could be just the customer services rep just trying to pacify you by saying this. Doesn't make it any easier to swallow I know

It's really frustrating isn't it? For me, the thing that has got to me the most is that my build week stayed at 41 for a number of weeks and then was put back to 43 last week.

 

I wish I could handle the anticipation with excitement rather than frustration!

July 15th, it's almost a new order. I been waiting since May and Chunkstar since April, that's real frustration.

That's it confirmed with SUK, my VRS hatch goes into production next week and delivery should be in 4-5 weeks from today. I'll keep everyone posted.

Nice and high suspension with the blocks still in!  Hopefully that will settle out or it will be getting lowered...  HUGE disks and caliper!

 

The correct gemini wheels turned up!  They look darker in the flesh and really suit the car. Very pleased with them

 

 

The inside looks great with the red stitching.  Ive got my little extra stalk for the adaptive cruise.  Colour maxidot looks great,

 

Couldnt fiddle with the radio as it was still in transport mode.

 

Note: no VRS MODE button.  Just the normal mode button.

 

 

Black pack looks great, not sure about the two tone paint tho

 

 

The dealer somehow managed grab a license with my initials in it!  Great service and he got the plates made early as a surprise

 

I went over to fit the plate surrounds which are from fleabay and look great.  Couldnt find any of the Mlada surrounds but they have the old logo on.

 

Something to note:

The darkened cornering fogs which we arent getting due to the brochure typo.  I didnt check the cornering function but the fog light units do all seem to be darkened inside apart from the reflector which obviously needs to be silver.  Was really chuffed with this as it matches the darkened headlight unit.

 

 

I did a quick video of the auto boot opening but havent got this off the phone yet. Suffice to say its really cool

Initial thoughts are I love it and its an absolute pleasure to drive. Really pleased I chose it now but was sad to see my white FL go today :(  Quick in a different way to my manual FL VRS as the DSG smoothes out the torque on the gear changes but you can still tell its fast.

 

The DSG is going to take a bit of getting used to with going from D to reverse as Ive always driven a manual.

 

Initial thoughts are it looks really mean compared to my mkii race blue and mkii fl white.  It was delivered with a really nice wet looking finish but ill be polishing it and applying some dodo juice wax this weekend.  The kids love the back seats as theres so much more room in the back now with it being longer.

 

It does have a soundaktor but doesnt have the vrs mode button and has the normal mode button instead.  It seems to work in the same way as Ive seen on the videos whereby it lights up when put into sport mode but ive mainly kept it in normal on the way home.

 

Great service from Richard Griffiths at Mitchell Skoda throughout with regular updates. I could have picked up last week but was on holiday so had to wait until I got back!

 

Im struggling to find somewhere to put the blackvue dashcam as the camera unit behind the mirror is so big!

 

Will take some more photos tomorrow and answer any q's if anyone has any.

Ordered my Genuine VW led number plate lights today and got my Xtremes at home waiting to go on it (not to everyones taste but i like).

Mine was built week 37 and the track my skoda which my dealer does says at Emden but only seems to update on a friday so hopefully its at Grimsby now . Currently in florida so hopefully be a nice present for when i get home.

Any chance you could keep us up to date on the blackvue install, I know there's been a couple of dashcam threads but I don't think I've seen any actual comments on complete installs.  I'm planning on installing either a DV500 or 550 to mine pretty much as soon as I take delivery.

Mine arrived Grimsby & it took almost a week to get to the dealer's which is about 30miles away. Another member posted his arrived Grimsby one day, next day on transport & delivered to dealer the next day near Liverpool.

Seems like the luck of the draw if there is a place on a transporter coming your way. Also mine was built week 33 & it took 3 weeks to get to Emden port & I got it this week, which was 5 weeks. Hope you get it sooner because the waiting is a real pain.

Genuine VAG Leds is just what im looking for.  Could you post the part numbers when you get back from holiday as I want to fit some to match up with the LED lights.

certainly will.  Ill try and get some photos done to do a guide when I get to fit it.  Still cant decide on which area of the screen to put it yet as Ill need to hold it in place, record then check on the mac as to what the view is like.

that was me.  the dealer was amazed it had got there that quick so it I think it was just a fluke and you seem to be in the lap of the gods as to when a transport will arrive to pic up your precious from the dock.

Mine was built week 37 white Estate Vrs. Was shipped yesterday according to SUK and arrived today. They said it was going to sheerness? But I can't find any highway ships that have docked or are due to dock in sheerness only Grimsby.
