Given the latest updates I'm almost hoping mine is delayed so it can be a 14 Registration. It would be really frustrating to take delivery of a new car 2 weeks before the plate change. That could mean a significant difference in the value!

But the not all the KESS line Car transporter are called something Highway, there are 2 more called Viking Odessa and Viking Constanza, and the Constanza is currently entering the Medway to dock at Sheerness.

Mine was built week 37 white Estate Vrs. Was shipped yesterday according to SUK and arrived today. They said it was going to sheerness? But I can't find any highway ships that have docked or are due to dock in sheerness only Grimsby.

was build week 42 for my white vRS manual diesel but moved up to wk 41 now. (ordered 3rd August)

 

not that fussed as away for 2 weeks in october so hopefully ready to pick up when I get back.

Do a Google search for Emden Port & Grimsby Port arrivals & departures.

Mr Google knows everything, you just need to ask the right questions.

 

The something highway ship are run by Kess Shipping (European subsidiary of K-Line), a quick look at the Kess Website gives the names of all the ships.

 

Next to marinetraffic.com, and search by vessel enter the name as "% Highway" or "Viking %" (it's a database query thing) and you should get all the ships ending in Highway or starting with Viking. Then just look at the vessels destinations.

 

I know it doesn't get you the car any quicker, but it fills in the time, and makes up a bit for the lack of information from the Dealer and SUK.

Initial thoughts are I love it and its an absolute pleasure to drive. Really pleased I chose it now but was sad to see my white FL go today :(  Quick in a different way to my manual FL VRS as the DSG smoothes out the torque on the gear changes but you can still tell its fast.

 

The DSG is going to take a bit of getting used to with going from D to reverse as Ive always driven a manual.

 

Initial thoughts are it looks really mean compared to my mkii race blue and mkii fl white.  It was delivered with a really nice wet looking finish but ill be polishing it and applying some dodo juice wax this weekend.  The kids love the back seats as theres so much more room in the back now with it being longer.

 

It does have a soundaktor but doesnt have the vrs mode button and has the normal mode button instead.  It seems to work in the same way as Ive seen on the videos whereby it lights up when put into sport mode but ive mainly kept it in normal on the way home.

 

Great service from Richard Griffiths at Mitchell Skoda throughout with regular updates. I could have picked up last week but was on holiday so had to wait until I got back!

 

Im struggling to find somewhere to put the blackvue dashcam as the camera unit behind the mirror is so big!

 

Will take some more photos tomorrow and answer any q's if anyone has any.

I was getting quite let down that I couldn't see an Xxxxx Highway ship from Emden to Sheerness so you've just made my day! I hope both of our cars are on it!!

Nice! Now the wait for transport and prep. I'm hoping next weekend... SWMBO won't let me collect it on my own as she wants to be there and she teaches so its weekends only!!

Sparshatts, Botley - Dealer has told me that when it turns up they will try and get it to me asap.

 

Looking at the ships logs, it's about 20 hours sailing Emden to Sheerness and about 24 hours to load/unload. So the ship could be back end of the week. But the transporter lorries only work Mon-Fri, so maybe next week.

 

I will be watching the ships on the website, with fingers crossed.

Build dates are only planned ca. 3 weeks ahead of time. 

I may have mentioned this above, so sorry for the repeat for frequent followers, but:

Mine was ordered 15/7 and hasn't been allocated a build date! so Week 2 delivery sounds about right!

Mine is also on a ship today! Ordered end of July. Only problem now is a lack of man power at the dealership. The car should arrive at the dealers early next week (CW 40), but I might have to wait untill late CW 41 before I can collect it. :(

I've ordered my car from skoda rainworth who use the trackmyskoda website. Its gone from week 46 to 43 to 48 and now its week 4, 2014! Admittedly I added leather seats, but bloody hell that's an extra 8 weeks!
