Yep, for the sake of a week or two I'd hold off for a 2014 car.

Well I got a call from the dealer today wanting info to setup my finance and I asked "if I'm giving you all this information now can you tell me when my car is going to land?" To which the finance guy on the phone said "well you'll have it in a few days", so I said "you know for a fact it'll be delivered in a few days?". His reply caught me off guard a little when he said "no, you can have it in a few days. It's here now, was delivered yesterday. Did you not know?" Me "er NO!".

So on the plus side my car is HERE. I'm going up now to see her and set up the finance and should be able to collect in a few days, this has brightened up this miserable day for me no ends :-D

9 weeks from order to delivery and 9 days from exit port to dealer. Think I've found myself a new lucky number lol.

Wow, congrats Mike. .... slowly drifts off .. dreaming of a 9 week turnaround for his order!! That would put me in 4th December. More likely 4th Feb if provisional week 2 is to be believed.

Been in to the dealers this morning and added Amundsen, and have a provisional build week of 49, so delivery around mid January with the Xmas break etc, I am happy with that, however, they seem to think it might move again, and are semi-confident it could come forward, however, as excited as I might be I think it would be sensible to delay collection until 1/1/14 even if it turned up earlier as in my view a car registered on 1/1/14 will have a better value in 3 years time than one registered on 31/12/13!!!

That certainly sounds promising. Fingers crossed for you. I also changed my order today. Phoned the dealer and added sunset glass and colour maxi dot display. He contacted SUK and added the additional options and SUK said it should not have an adverse effect on my build / delivery dates and could even bring it forward. Whoaaa just had to duck or that flying pig might have hit me. Lol. I live in hope.

I've been extremely lucky. When my car got built and the dealer rang to tell me he asked what I'd done to get my car sorted so quickly as none of their other orders (placed before mine) had even been locked down.

I've been very luck, even shipping over and delivery to the dealer was quick.

And here she is, like so many other Meteor Grey pics I've seen my dads iPhone 4 sensor does not remotely do this colour justice. Trust me looks sooooo much better in real life!

Here's a couple more. I apologise as there not exactly good and a little blurred but it was very hard to hold the phone still due to high winds and was only an iPhone 4.

Unsure really, mine was built some time in week 41 and at the exit port by the Friday. So not long

mine is in the UK awaiting transport to the dealers in Glasgow. Hopefully next week sometime for pick up. Fingers crossed.

hello, just got a pdf copy of my order confirmation form and at the bottom there's a handover commitment date of 01.12.2013. Does that mean I can expect my car by then, or is it just a way of saying if they go way past that date I could get compensation...Its all very confusing!

They put that date on the order so it gets an as early build week as possible, if they put March 1st for example as you wanted it on a 14 plate then it would just go into the system and then a build week would in theory be generated so it could be built and delivered to the dealer with a few days to spare ready for the 1st March.  By putting December 1st, it just means it will be built and delivered ASAP.

 

On a vRS I ordered a few years ago I put down I ordered in about February, but wanted to collect on September 1st, it ended up being built early and ended up parked on teh dockside compund by the end of May, there was no transport order for it to be delivered to the dealer until late August, but once I found out it was at the compound I wanted it ASAP, so the dealer changed the required by date and it arrived at the dealer about a week later.

 

Also, another thing to consider, is that its a condition of the 0% and other offers that when you car arrives at the dealer you are obliged to take it within 10 days of arrival at the dealer, however, if you wanted the car later in the year or something, then ask the dealer to put the 'required date' a few days before you require it, then that way when it arrives you will still be eligible for any offers applicable at time of order, if the dealer say you cant have the date put in the future then thats rubbish, you can!

well my car was a build week 40 and is now in the UK and due to be delivered to us this next week.

Just rang SUK, status 10 build week has gone from week 3 to week 48. On a race blue vRS hatch, with canton, spare wheel, CCS, black pack.

so 14 weeks to build. Then another 2-4 for delivery. That's if it doesn't change again!!

Like many here, my order had disappeared off the system. Today I was told it is back showing Week 47, still status 10. vRS estate Tdi, ordered at the start of September.

Went to the dealers today concerning my mrs monte carlo'wind deflector,and asked about how my vrs estate is coming along,when checked its lost its build week 51, so now it has no build week it could be march,which im not bothered about,cos thats when i originally wanted it for but the dealers couldnt keep it that long if it came in jan,il still be enjoying my mk2 till then,

Hope this means a *leap* forward, but Skoda UK are parroting the same line that all cars with lane assist are subject to delays (didn't mention ACC to me). Said won't know anything more till mid Nov, but not sure I take that. Interestingly trackmySkoda seems to work for me, even though Alex Lawrie are not part of that group (or are they?)

I was told the same on Monday, 14week wait for vRS and add 6 weeks due to lane assist parts shortage.
