They're probably like trains & buses, nothing for ages then you get two or three come along in rapid succession.

Hi all, having read this all the way through, this question will almost seem like comedy.

I ordered our VRS Estate (no ACC, pano roof or other mentioned delay components). Realistically, am I going to be waiting for the car until January sometime? Or does anyone think it will sneak through? It would be fantastic to have the car in time for Xmas, but I've let go of that particular dream for now!

I ordered a similar spec end of July and my car is being built next week. I think you'll be looking at January.

Ordered ours week 38. Vrs hatch petrol rallye green. No bad extras, spare wheel, tints, black pack and standard cruise. Spoke to the dealer today and he said that last week we were given week 3, but then 2 days later it was taken off the build queue!!! Not holding my breath!

Hmmn, I know this is like predicting lottery numbers, but looking at your dates vrsCR I'd be waiting until February 3, 2014.

Almost gets to the point that it's worth it slipping another 4 weeks to get a 14 plate! (I know it shouldn't make a difference!) Would still rather it this year, but hey. The best things and all that!

I know its a but of a pain. Salesman said we'd have it by xmas and i laughed in his face! He asked what was so funny and i told him about this site!!

jtypecav,

I ordered a TSI Estate without the "problematic" extras on Oct 1. and my build week (for now) is the first of January.

I had a dream last night....

Vic (my salesman) rang me and said, "James, erm.... your TDI vRS is here."

"That's great but you sound worried. Is everything ok?" I reply.

"The thing is, apart from turning up early, with all your options, it's been fitted with a 230v socket, a vRS mode button and twin exhausts...."

Dreams come true. Right?

Can't be true, a 230V socket is useless in the UK. :P

So there is variance in how quickly dealers get informed of provisional build dates too? I know there are many people saying their cars are removed from weeks etc. and that's understandable due to demand. But is there a minimum requirement of being informed of something happening at somepoint? This is going to sound weird, but I have a single sheet of paper from the dealership, and until I get a week or something it doesn't feel very real yet!

Perhaps a way off until I start having dreams about one J8mbo!

Received an update from my sellers, the delay of cars with adaptive cruise control and Lane Assistant so I'll see if that makes a car this year.

Spoke to SUK this morning and my VRS TSI hatch has been built and is on it's way to port of exit. I must have been close to the top of the list for BW42 orders.

Sadly they said that it could take up to a month to arrive at the dealers although I think they didn't want to make any promises they couldn't keep in that respect. So fingers crossed it gets on one of the boats this weekend, I won't hold my breath though.

Congrats!

Dealer got in touch yesterday to say Oct 1st order had provisional build week of 2.

Strange conversation with suk on Friday.

Told me unconfirmed build week 45 with the problem ACC but the dealer needs to contact retail support due to delays.

Ordered 20th august.

Build weeks so far week 46, week 3, week 44 and now 45.

Congrats!

Vrs Estate / combi TDi in Race blue, black design kit, boot floor, canton, winter pack, kessy couple other bits, but no ACC.

Hi. Thanks for that. I do not have any build delaying options. I do not know how Skoda decide on the build order? They seem to be all over the place. This is my first ever Skoda and I am looking forward to it but Skoda have taken the shine of it with a six or possibly seven month wait. I do not think it is good customer care. I hope it is worth the wait. But good luck you with yours and enjoy it when it arrives.

I was speaking with my dealer on Friday as mine still hasnt got any sort of provisional or confirmed build week yet, and he was saying that this non allocation and build week swapping etc is quite common at this time of year, he seems to think that these build weeks that people have been quoted for Jan/Feb next year will all come forward, especially as with the Xmas break etc he says that Skoda are usually late to commit to build weeks etc due to the time of year, obviously I am talking about cars ordered that dont have options requested on them that are causing known delays at the moment, I ordered 20th September, quoted 12 weeks so mid-December and despite my comments to him that many people on here had ordered earlier and were being quoted build weeks later, he had no problem with saying that he was confident that mine would be delivered at the latest a couple of weeks after the initial quoted delivery time, I asked what they will do should mine not arrive by the end of December as my tax runs out then and I am not retaxing it when my car was expected mid December and he has said that they will pay the car tax for me to stay in the car.

At the end of the day, I am happy to stay in mine as long as is needed as I have a guaranteed PX price and each month extra I stay in mine means I have paid more off my current PCP so I have a larger deposit going into the new car which means lower payments, along with my deal I done with the dealer it just means my new car gets cheaper by the month, so as much as I want the new car, I cant be too upset if its a few weeks late or something.

Hi James. I hope your dealer is being genuine because when I ordered mine on 23/09/13, the dealer told me it would be built in December with a January delivery. That quickly changed to provisional build week eleven

(10/03/14). Fingers crossed he is not giving you a load of bull****.

Just got my Monday morning update from my dealer this morning. Ordered mid September, provisional date at time of order of mid december, last week we were given week 3 and today he says week 51 but seems fairly confident it will move again. I dont mind as im still half expecting it to come in March!!

well it looks like our vrs estate should be with us any day now :)

Your car is at UK Port I will assign a reg and get the docs over for signing.

Hello everyone, first time poster here.

Ordered an Elegance hatch, Race Blue 1.4TSI with sports suspension and paddle shift wheel on the 13th of September. I phoned up Skoda last Friday and they said it was at Emden waiting to be shipped

I have no idea why it's so quick and TBH it's taken me a bit by surprise as I wasn't expecting it for ages after reading about the delays on here. It seems to be a complete lottery.

Same here, ordered 14/09/13 and told end of Jan for delivery.  Then last week I found out that the build date had initially been Week 8 2014, so not a chance it was going to be delivery in January.  That initial build date was before any of the supply problems we have been hearing about.

Been in to the dealers this morning and added Amundsen, and have a provisional build week of 49, so delivery around mid January with the Xmas break etc, I am happy with that, however, they seem to think it might move again, and are semi-confident it could come forward, however, as excited as I might be I think it would be sensible to delay collection until 1/1/14 even if it turned up earlier as in my view a car registered on 1/1/14 will have a better value in 3 years time than one registered on 31/12/13!!!
