well the car arrived this morning at 8.20am and both myself and the guys in the office are really impressed.

The gear change (manual) is very smooth, and the engine is very torquey in standard form..

The thing thats really done it for me so far, is the phone holder found in the cup holder, very nice touch.,

Ill post some photos later today after its been snow foamed etc :)

Looking good Andrew :)

Was there much contamination on the paintwork Andrew ?  :)

Be nice to know how you get on with the software. My vrs is due to me soon and may be looking at a box early next year.

Stuart's given it the once over ****, and it wasn't too bad tbh

some serious Skoda loving going on in the office at present

Andrew how does it drive standard compared to a CR 170, is there much difference?

  • Author

The cr 170 is a great engine in standard form, but this new 184 is a revelation, certainly feels a lot more than 184 in standard form,

I've just realised the box on the engine is the CRDT. Is it a prototype?

EDIT- just been on your website and got it bookmarked.

We released a kit for the 184ps based on the 150ps after feedback from the guys in Germamy,

Can you change maps on the fly from those buttons? As in while you're driving...

That's my lifeshine gone then!

Oh go on - and my Gap insurance for the CRDT as well.....

Do not bother with life shine, its a complete rip off!!

As for Gap Insurance, check out www.ala.co.uk :)

I know very little about re-mapping, and I'm sure that you're doing a lot of learning and experimenting with the car: But isn't the pedalbox a little redundant on a VRS, seeing as the car has switch-able maps already -wouldn't it be easier to alter these.

The pedal box amplifies the effect the various different modes currently available on the car as standard.

Its really difficult to explain, but in a nutshell it doesn't increase the peak hp figure, but does lower where the peak hp is produced

It improves access to the car's performance, that's probably the best way to describe it :)
