New Golf R

Featured Replies

If i had a really obvious car which i could never go fast in because i would get pulled (ie R400)  i would want a Reg Plate something like this.

(i suspect its price to buy  would be greater than a R400)

Good decision.

GFR doesn't really mean anything to 98% of people out there.

Did B055 FOX mean the boss of the company with the name or was it something else people were supposed to see.

DON'T BELIEVE THIS PRICE! BARGAIN!! IF TRUE!!!

Seems to have been a fig leaf of your imagination.

?

Have you not been into the VW Dealership to find out the Gen on Manual Gearbox Issues, if there are any.?

I am waiting for my man that can to get in touch and give me the low down.

Information from the Owner of the Golf R in for work & in the other thread would be useful.

I have PM'd George for the report from the service engineer.

Mine does not have a notchy box-yet!

Perhaps mine was built on the right day by the right shift- who knows?

Assuming this is an attempt at humour it related to a pet Fox I had that suffered with poor personal hygiene.

The 55 is a bizarre coincidence.

Nothing to do with me running a company called Fox at all. :D

So like others personal plates and cheap age ones that often get dissed,

it only means something to you, and others would be none the wiser.

If you say so George.

I know what you are trying to say and the point you are trying to make but you are wrong.

GFR meaning Golf R and a plate that reads two obvious words with correct spacing and no jiggery pokery are not the same.

Next you'll be asking what my GTR plate means on my GT-R. :D

As I suspected.

Poor attempt at humour, shouldn't have responded.

Out of interest, why would you consider it such outstanding value, especially as its a demo and probably been ragged from cold by most of the punters? Has it got decent spec over standard? Personally, I'd rather have a brand new one from the broker/dealer for £400 more :)

Price is starting point for tough negotiations for cash deal. 64 plate, 3100 miles . £4500 saving on new @ their selling price, based on standard spec. Saves waiting 4 months.

Dealers  usually add on a few extra. Haven't checked full spec, my friend is looking for one at the right price.

Keith unless they knock ££££s more off the price that's a carp 'offer' in my view.

I get put off by demo cars. Especially an R which will have been abused to death from cold with 0 miles on.

Itd have to be a stonking deal for me to be happy with it tbf

Reminds me of the GT-R, which you are familiar with.

Mile up the road from the showroom, salesman has to impress the prospective buyer and so full throttle from the lights to three figures...

No, I'd not buy a demo. :D

The Golf R wasn't warmed up either!

No panic Tom, it's a starting point for a friend, he will get it for, as George say "Much Cheapness" £4500 a starting point - £6k much better.

I've never tested a car that was warmed up tbf haha.

But its not mine. So I'll happily redline it with a cold engine. I dont mind too much.

I test drove a fabia 1.2 tsi. Redlined it everywhere right from cold. Got back to the dealers and he says, 'we can do you a good deal on that. You wont have to pay much if you part ex yours'

'No thanks i said.

Why not? Thought you liked the engine?

I do, but its spent all its life doing exactly what I've just done to it. I wouldnt touch it. Haha.

Sounds exactly like the van dealers where the current Combo came from, redlined from start, bought it anyway :(

Tom,

Checkout Autotrader and or VW website for used at retail prices. then take off about £2.5k for base price to start. This car advertised would normally be about £29500

Remember this is much better value than the inflated S1.Audi retail price S1 is approx. £26k.Think I know my preference.

But as boss says, you can get a new one for that. £26k from drive the deal.

So, youve got a car with 3k on the clock, thrashed from cold and 0 miles... Or... Wait a few months n have a brand spanker.

I know which id do.

Cash or PCP with %interest attached.

Or business with tax offset?
