New Golf R

Featured Replies

Tom,

So my "Goof" R would seem ideal against the criterion you mention, for the majority British weather conditions then.

Happy to invest (not "hung up on my magic protection shield") in the extra safety and the reassurance this car gives me and my family.

Driving skills/ability aside, I still can have loads of fun! Sounds pretty good too!

Safety's boring though

Knowing you're a little unsafe makes things soo much more exciting ;) hahaa :).

R, I'm sure has it's limits but as yet haven't found them, during my boring quick drive across the damp and frosty Wiltshire roads this morning.

It can still put a smile on your face and a crease in your underpants, whilst cracking a walnut!

Everything has its limits i guess!

A lot more easily found this time of year with summer tyres on too i suppose haha.

Rather have the golf or bmw.

Mercs dont do much for me anymore. I dont think theyre the quality brand they once were.

Another boring performance 4wd.

Don't take it so personally. :)

Lot of love for the Golf R estate from me. Had another drive in a 5 door R this morning - Im convinced the R estate would be the ideal all round car for me. :)

with whipped cream and a cherry on top! Me and the Mrs are just currently discussing whether the silver roof bars look a little lonely ie wrong, as there's no other silver bits on the side profile.... 1st world problems, ay?!

Note ! Door mirror caps are alloy , 18 " wheels polished alloy- a combo of polished alloy and black finish, or 19" wheels all polished alloy,

Eh? Really?

Eh? Really?

Well it may be Stainless Steel but at a glance looks alloy like but who knows?

Can you confirm for my ignorance please.

Id of thought it would actually be plastic with an effect on it

It could be brushed steel though. But i doubt it tbh.

No doubt it'll be plastic but it looks ok as it matches those silver roof rails imo. :)

They are Matt-Chrome effect, according to the spec on-line.

Sorry, as you have both suggested on plastic base.

Haven't been out this morning to see if there is a metallic ring to them - now that would be a classy extra.

Id imagine they have to flex abit in order to pop off the mirror?

Metal wouldnt allow it to flex would it i suppose

I cant imagine them spendin the extra on metal tbh haha
