Still really want one. Even more so since I've got a new job a mile down the road from me. Just going to wait for my 3month probation to be up and then probably buy one rather than lease and it'll keep me going for a good 10 years then.

Not sure. Might go for manual but my left knee does play up every now and again since I had an op on it. The reliability on them is well proven with some taxis up to 250k. Mine has done nearly 60k and been perfect.

Might put her up for sale as I'm not really using her and just get a little run around til I get my r. But then again I am liking the 3.4 boxster s instead of an r. Oh the decisions I have now I don't need a commuter car!!

Noo not a boxster. Im really not a fan. I know they arent that cheap, n they arent exactly slow, but its still a poor mans porsche in my mind.

I've made my choice Amanda, are you in the market to buy something similar or do you have better already?

I've still got a year to go with my car, but I am wondering if the time has come where you can not only have a very quick petrol car, but one that is reasonably frugal considering the performance on offer? Hope I can find the money for something silly next time    S3/R/135i etc

All done and dusted in 2 weeks - cutting out any frustrating waiting list, by doing a good probing search.

 

Dealers prepared to haggle realistically, especially at the end of the month and  also wanting to get their new registration stocks in.

Harsh.

 

The perception is that people who buy a Boxster or Cayman only did so because they couldn't afford a 911. Therefore they're the 'poor' (wo)man's Porsche.

 

I could probably stretch to a new Boxster if I really wanted one. And yes, it would be better than any car I've owned, but I know that what I'd really want is a 911.

 

Interesting that in this months CAR magazine, they've added a 3 year old 911 to their long term fleet to see how it stands up.

Its not 'poor' anything. Id rather spend my money on other things. Im more of a bike person, cars dont impress me unless theyre something really special, like a gtr.

Youd only buy a boxster if you couldnt afford a 911 or a more upmarket porsche. I cant see any other reason for having one.

Therefore. Poor mans porsche.

Or you'd rather spend the money on something else like an extension or some very nice holidays? There's other things to buy beyond cars. Not buying the top of the range isn't always a poor persons option. Is a Fabia vRS or poor persons Octavia vRS? Or did they just not need the bigger car? Or do they have a much better car as a toy?...
