I didn't know it could do that!

Make a long press on the "0.0/SET" button located under the counters. Press and hold until "Battery Status" displays.

I did this and it asked me if i wanted to change oil service intervals. Must have done it wrong

You guys have a real car to test, much more than the manual.

That's pretty cool. I'll give that a go. With ignition on or off?

1. Switch off the ignition (time to be displayed)
2. Make a long press on the "0.0/SET" button located under the counters. Press and hold until "Battery Status" displays.
3. Release the button: the percentage of battery charge will appear ("SOC" for "Status Of Charge" I guess ...) In 10% Increments?

Fab, thanks.

Not sure how accurate that is though, I've had mine show 0% and then the engine started fine....

Ooh dear. I know these modern engines are efficient but that's well impressive.

I just discovered there's settings for the climate control today. I see there's an option to turn the heated screen on automatically.

Tell me more!!  I only found the picture that shows you whether its blowing hot or cold..(normally just have a glance at the wife for that ! :giggle: )

Liking the thread! Almost as much as the first time I enabled lane assist having just given the GF a "tutorial" on cruise control operation.. she was silence whilst she computed it and then exclaimed..

"the car... it's steering itself?!!!"

Love the fact she's OK with the auto parallel park, but this freaked her out!

You know you have only given her an excuse for why all four wheels have been curbed, It wasn't me, it wa the car !

I like the fact you can make all the doors unlock with one press of the key via the infotainment screens. On my Fabia you had to do this through the ODBII port.

The permanently live 12V sockets are great too, but beware... they share a fuse and it's a pig to get the glovebox lid off to change it when it pops.

I love the fact it know's who's driving.  Whenever SWMBO takes it out it comes back with a lot less fuel, a lot more dirty and it's set up for Sports mode and bangs out crappy Dance music...  She never changed anything...   :giggle:

Of course this only works one way and it doesn't change settings back to mine automatically  :@

It's cool that you can change gear and cruise stays activated :) golf didn't do that!

Odd! That's the one thing I don't like about it :-)

Care to elaborate, why don't you like that? :)

I can't come up with any downsides of gear changes not disengaging cc.

I never read the manual...have the KESSY, which is good, but didnt know how to lock it automatically so had to keep digging out the keyfob and pressing the lock button.  Its as simple as pressing the dimple on the handle!

Because you can't use a downshift to switch the CC off like you could on the mkII which I found more useful than being able to change gear with it on....

I used to like the way this worked on my Fabia (i.e. clutch would pause the CC).  You could lightly tap the clutch with your left foot and at the same time take up the throttle with your right foot when coming off the CC, then hit resume when the traffic had cleared again.

I do lots of motorway miles and, consequently, encounter traffic. Rather than use the break or fiddle with the sliding switch, I would rather be able to drop a gear and use engine braking to slow down.

The first time I tried this, the car surged forward as it accelerated.

Suppose its down to how you are used to driving. I myself usually use the brake to cancel the CC. The setup on the Octy isnt really a pro or a con to me.

So it's you!

So it's you!

Depends? Im not admitting liability until i know what ive done (or supposedly done)

Randomly flashing your brake lights and causing everyone behind to panic.

I only ever use the switch to cancel CC, unless i'm actually slowing down.

& if your in Eco, it'll coast thereby, saving you some more fuel or so I imagine

I was responding to the person who liked slowing down by changing down gear. I myself cancel CC and hence slow down by using the brake. Perhaps it wasnt too obvious. Sorry.

I cant imagine cancelling CC unless i needed to slow down though.
