hi there, i have been searching on here how to add a remote to my central locking system as I'm fed up of using the door locks to unlock the car.

 

the car has central locking already but does not have a remote fob (i recently bought the car) and i was just wondering if anyone knows or can point me in the right direction on how to add it.

 

i have seen kits online but there has got to be a way so you can have the genuine skoda parts?

Hi matey, you can do it with oem parts. You need to change the ccu and get the correct part number keys to match then its just a matter of coding with vcds getting keys cut and immob coded then syncthe keys to the car. Gime me a little while and I will dig the part numbers out for you.

Can be more expensive than an ebay kit, depends how well you know your local scrappy

here is a cut and paste of the guide I used to do it on my polo, same applies to the fabia I assume, I will be doing it this weekend to my newly acquired fabia

you need to replace your current CCM(comfort control module) for 1 with remote locking. Then you need to get the correct part number remotes for the CCM you've bought. There's quite a few different part number CCM's available as they changed at certain years. So best to buy the correct CCM for your year Fabia then it makes it easier to know which remotes you need.

 

If you tell me the year of Fabia you have i can tell you the correct part numbers you need. You can get the CCM easily enough from Ebay & sometimes they do come with a remote. If not then remotes are easy enough to get hold of anyway & if you fancied something a bit better looking than a normal black plastic Skoda remote I can do Bentley style remotes that have chrome sides & look 10x better.

Hi just wondering if anyone had any advise on my problem, I've changed my speedo as my previous one stopted working but now my car will not start i have put the old speedo back in but the car will still not start it turns over then cuts out so there for I think its my immobilizer now does anyone have any suggestions what to do please. Thanks.
