cant keep warping around, my cargo is making my FSD unstable! :o

stop running slaves... but if you are nglibia (sp) sells them. Look on map by goverment/allegience, any anarchy should have a platform that exports ;) Anyhow two jumps to lhs3505 platforms, no security, 30k for 20mins and a little chip of your soul... :(

the big spinny stations, like the rings and blocks, they re the ones that should be quick to dock, but normally have police patrolling. The platforms are 99% open and also have queues to dock at. If it's busy, and I'm wanted... I'll drift in to about 1k range, well within the no fire zone. If anyone does open, they will also get a fine, then it's a fair fight or not.

The big cuby ones, saw a fab tip to locate entrance.... hold right hand out, make fingers curl around; a fist, then stick thumb up.... align hand to station; imagine the spinning station draws a virtual line through your curled fingers, the pointy thumb points to where the entrance is.

I'm also experimenting with stations around planets... I think if you fly off angle then come back towards them, approaching into there orbit. So if orbiting clockwise, I fly to the right of it, then back toward it left, to intercept it. When I drop out I'm normally facing the entrance. If not then it was going the other way....

A couple of pictures of my gorgeous Python. It is an absolute beast of a ship.

  • I'm not doing that again!   The ZX spectrum version ate 2 years of my lfe, and the 16bit rerun on the Atari ST / Amiga saw off another year.   I havent got enough years left to play Elite another

Set off on a grand wander  debating whether to ditch the cargo bay and install fuel scoop so can top up without docking.... (made just under 10k credits by selling the info  on systems)

see the exploring one does seem tempting, but I am guessing you need to upgrade your ship before you can go off into the wild blue yonder?

yeah, some of the logistics there is common to the old elite... if you lock target on the station a little version will come up on your scanner too.... playing the old game defiantly gave me an advantage, especially in combat!... I'm not running slaves at the moment... just "waste" ;) should net me over 100k though! (and a fine, 250)

I got stuck without fuel, installed fuel scoops, and went on a bounty hunter mission! lol... it was fun! I think I would have been better going on the selling of stellar cartography though!

you were right ColinD! I just went on and got straight in (and got berated at "late" cargo ! lol...) good bank balance now though! added sigarland as a friend! anyone else out there do add sharkrider :) looking for more missions now... coffee!

it's not upgraded that much - just a few tweaks (decent shield, power distributer, some weapons (one Pulse, One Beam and one gun))and an upgraded bulkheads to make sure I don't get killed in the first attack  volley....

I have just tried a mission delivering info... don't know what went wrong :( but followed instruction got back to where it said, and nothing has happened, dont know how to complete! gonna go shoot some traders !

Did you go to the bulletin board ??

yeah, I couldn't seem to resolve it... looked for contacts at the place I wsa supposed to deliver it too... gave up in the end :(

You were at the right station?  (I've done that before)

yup.... I may try another information delivery mission and see what happens....

right, been able to deliver information via the bulliten board, done another 1 and in the process of doing another and been booted off because of server restart! :o hope nothing goes wrong or I will run out of time! lol....

dont know why i couldnt deliver via bulletin board before....

feel I'm making a step, rep gone up ect , a commander who delivers propoganda for the rebles! yay! lol...

oooh gaining influence with them, but not enough to get my hands on prototype tech... that sounds interesting...

loads of money made today doing missions... thinking about upgrading stuff, but want a cobra! do I just save up for that ? :)

So slightly better day today, finally made enough cash to trade up to a hauler, am going to start doing some cargo runs, make some cash.

Slight update have upgraded to an Adder so I think time to go and do some exploring

Got a trade mission that netted my 80kcr on Saturday, Did a bit of sightseeing - went to Lave and spent a little time going around the old hunting grounds. I was indicted and attacked and was doing quite well,  except the ship went into silent running and dropped shields.  I was down to 50% hull before I worked out how to put them back up.  (I later discovered that the Voice attack profile have misheard - I've delete the silent running commands from the profile.)  When hunting for bounties get the kill warrant  scanner as it gets you any bounties, I 've also noticed that I've picked up bounties for pilots that were "clean" .- I'm assuming that if they are in a sector (or controlled by the faction) that they are not wanted in it comes up clean.

I cant figure the kill-warrant scanner out... after i go through the PITA of keeping them in sights and close enough for a scan, should it flash something extra up if its given any benefit?

TBH ive only bothered scanning people who are already showing wanted.

I've just added it to my group 1 weapons - scans when I fire.

Going to give rare runs a good go this week - hopefully without running out of fuel like I did the last time.

I like to think I'm ok at fighting, few times Ive been indicted I have won :) however I am not taking on any bounty missions (except maybe killing traders!lol) until I get my cobra and some better weapons! what you flying io?

what you flying io?

I'm still in a Eagle - I've upgraded the shields, Power distributor, power unit, bulkheads and weapons,  two gimballed Beam lasers and a gimballed Mutli Cannon. Biggest thing I've taken out is a Cobra (pilot was mostly harmless).I know it's not the quickest way of making money but that's the point of sandbox games you can play them how you like.  It's worth about 600,000cr at the moment and I think I'll keep it for a bit longer. It is a bit limited in the respect that you have to keep swapping internal things about But it is fast enough to run away ;) if things get too hairy. I've not taken on Bounty hunting missions either - just getting attacked in the general course of playing.

So rare runs, where would you find them?

I am currently doing gold trade runs between a extraction site and a High tech site which is netting me a fairly good profit, Haven't had a chance this week to actually try my new ship out yet.

The fighting is pretty good fun, I like the multi cannons as they seem good at wearing down shields etc. only outlay is for the ammunition, would like to try the rail guns though

Energy weapons are far better at shields, then kinetic for hull. Good news, most npc wanted do not have shields.

Rails are fantastic... except, you need to be a very very good aim and work out the leading shot. On less than anaconda's I missed more than I hit, from a stationary sniper pov too... So I got rid of them for now.

I have it on good authority that cannon (rather than multi cannon)  at close range can strip shields and hull off a Cobra in seconds.

Plenty of info on the Elite Dangerous forum - can't give you details as I'm at work and game sites are blocked
