So just to add further complicationto the screen size on admunson, my dealer has asked the quesrtion and aparently the screen is still 5.8" however the resolution has been increaed to 800x 400! Dont know what people will say about that but there you go.

Skoda have been rubbish with their communication between their teams and dealers. I am confident that the new Amundsen is 6.5" and 800x480. (they don't produce a smaller screen than this with such a resolution)

Well I wouldn't get your hopes up, as this can lead to disapointment! Also the email does say the resolution has been upped to provide compatability with smartlink

I have spent a lot of time with skoda UK on this (read back in the thread) suffice to say 5.8' and 800x400 is incorrect and not compatible with the minimum requirements for Apple car play (which is part of smartlink) the 6.5" screen and 800x480 is. I have this confirmed in writing from skoda UK.

I would rather expect the 5.8 and get the 6.5 than vice versa. I would say there is no guarantee at this point, so I would'nt get your hopes up, I would also ask what happens when you get the 5.8?

what do you mean it wont work, what are you expecting it to do? other than play music from your phone through your car stereo?

Correct... I too have now taken delivery of my MY16 SEL and can confirm larger screen and no CD player

apple car play won't work that's for sure, android auto I'm not so sure of. If you just want it to play music via bluetooth then you don't need smart link, I can do that on my 2012 Yeti. Have a look at this to see what it should do http://www.androidcentral.com/android-auto

FYI be sure to see the Smartlink thread by Jono. He's trying to get Smartlink enabled post production by the dealer (as am I).

lovely, really like the panoramic roof. That's one thing I'll miss when mine arrives but as it seems to be monsoon season here this week it's not like I open it much

Hi, the card they sent with the car was for old navigation system. Sorry cannot be more helpfull than that, as dealer done checks he noticed sat nav was not working, so took it out and ordered me correct one.

I dont have any sd card at all in my possesion yet.

This may all be bs, but its what i was told!

My Octavia Scout was delivered today. It was ordered as a MY15, mid April and was manufactured on Tuesday of week 22 as a MY16. It has all the MY16 cosmetic updates and the updated MIB2, 8" Columbus with Smartlink!! I figure Smartlink is standard on Columbus on MY16 models. Tried it out with my iPhone 6 and Carplay and it works like magic! The Smartlink upgrade is a bonus of course, but I love the feeling of a new car. It's a 1.8 TSI (180 bhp), DSG6, Quartz Grey metallic, Canton audio, front assist, lane assist, light assist, AAC, Leather/alcantara, tow bar, heated windscreen, webasto, kessy and sunset. Shame that I am going on a week holiday to Greece tomorrow..

Went for a few drives today... Awesome weather... Had the roof open plenty <BIG GRIN>!

Really liking the car! Gotta get the Nav SD issue sorted though.

This Amundsen Sat Nav thing looks like a very common issue, same with my Brothers, they tried 2 straight out of the box Octavia SD cards with no luck so he is waiting for a "fix" to! If anyone gets theirs sorted can you let me know what the fix is just in case he is still waiting, he is off to Europe in less than 2-weeks and really wants it sorted out by then :S
