Featured Replies

I have been on combe before in my old monte. Its just that losing your brakes going into quarry isnt fun. Hence why i dont wanna damage this car just yet :)

  • OK, so I;ve now edited all my pictures and uploaded to photo bucket. The first sessions pictures didn't come out how I wanted, but got there by the second session   As there are so many, I'll post

  • A great big thanks to Devonutopia for organising the day.   I had a great time.  Thoroughly enjoyed being overtaken by just about everyone. LOL.

  • This was bit of a disaster for me! But it was great up to moment my car sprayed oil all over the track and became totally uncontrollable. It must have been virtually out as it needed a lot of oil! T

Brakes brakes brakes. It's the one big thing on a race track. I did combe a few yrs back on new minted m1144's n it was great then did silverstone a a couple of yrs after on standard n had to come off early because brake fade was so bad. I may go on track yet myself if I can get a slot but won't be hammering if I do because only running standards currently and they just won't live up to it! Drive spirited but not full on and all should be ok but if you go on track full throttle regardless of any engine mods I'd always say start by getting decent brakes first. But you certainly don't have to hoon it to enjoy it!

In all honesty, it looks like rain for the weekend so I doubt anyone will be caining it, just a leisurely drive round the track in the wet ;(

Does anyone have a spare helmet that they wouldn't mind lending to SWIMBO for a passenger ride please?

I can bring a spare helmet Rob. It's small so should be ok for your Mrs as she's by now used to a small helmet.

You can hire the helmets anyway. Usually costs me £5

Are they anything like the ones you get at Karting places? Normally dripping with the previous occupants head and containing many life forms unknown to science?

I thought it was £10 for helmet hire and £5 for a passenger to go on track??

I doubt my other half will go on track again after I made her sick last time. But I will have a spare lid (if she doesn't come along) should someone wish to borrow it.

and yes I forgot my lid one time and had to hire one.........my god I think there was something alive in it! *edited* other than my head of course ;)

2 x track times for tomorrow available. I have developed a fault so not able to take to the track. £40 I will still be on the stand so see me if interested in the morning cheers.
