My Dad bought an Octavia and gave up a Volvo 440, which had seen enough miles and was getting old. It was still reliable but you wouldn't want to rely on it!

Me? A zonecard, which I am having to go and buy another one since I don't want to drive anymore due to lack of parking spaces, and the fact that public transport is faster. I suppose at one time I ditched a Metro before the Fabia

Traded in a Mitsubishi Colt for the Fab. It was still going strong at 11 yrs old but with 120k on the clock and doing 500mls per week towards the end of its life was starting to cost on repairs.

Gave my daughter my 'L' reg Favorit when I bought the vRS (made the mistake of test driving one - big mistake - had to have one)!

Still miss the Favorit. Good honest, reliable, easy to maintain car. Good stock of spares at local breakers!

Focus Zetec 1.8 also in black magic (er i mean panther black)

Kinda miss it sometimes, twas a pretty good car.

I still find myself peering at the dash where the digital clock should be. Oh and it had cupholders that were actually useful!

Previous to that was a 1.2 Clio. Couldnt wait to be rid of it.

I had a Renault Sport Clio 172 Cup until it was writen off (Dam Nissan Drivers)

I do miss the power of the Clio compared with the vRS and the fuel economy. That's why it's going to be Jabba'd.

I would of had another one but waiting list was around 5 months and i was without a car.

'97 Astra 2.0 16v Sport.

Yeah yeah, a Vauxhall i know, but i had it over 4 years and it never let me down. It was pretty quick too. Whoever has it now got a good car, R reg, FDSH and less than 40k on the clock when i chopped it in.

I first saw the RS at last year's MotorShow, decided there & then i was having one :)

Not horrible, just expensive to run, expensive to insure, expensive to service... etc etc

It wasn't rocketship fast admittedly, but it was a nice drive. But well done for spotting the least sensible buy I've made - particularly as I was using it to commute 50 miles to work and 50 miles home again at the time, 5 days a week.

I know what you mean though - all the disadvantages of the Impreza Turbo - but with none of the benefits. I've seen the light now though!!!!

Company Golf GTi (2.0 and not 1.8t unfortunately) to G-plate Nissan Bluebird (don't ask) via Octavia 1.9Tdi ambiente = vRS!

vRS tops it for me although the taxi was a great car with plenty of ooomph but I saw a vRS in the dealers awaiting collection on the day I picked the Tdi up so when I gave up taxi-ing there was only one choice.

Cheers

Hugh

To be honest, it was just too scary for me. Every time I even touched the pedal, it would shriek off with me clinging to the steering wheel for dear life. It had to go.

Thankfully I don't have that problem with a chipped vRS... :D

I had a Renault Scenic before the vRS.

Excellent car for the family and comfortable, all our dealers closed down here and one of them became a Skoda dealer:D so went for a test drive and the rest is history.
