Did everybody get notified of their cars build date or are there any circumstances where the dealer will just notify you when it's built?

The salesman called me and told me the date. And then the week I could pick it up.

Not sure how relevant this is but I ordered my Focus ST at the end of July and took delivery of it last Monday (22nd August)

Four weeks from order to collection.

A check on the Ford Etis website tells me my vehicle was built on 12th August.

Now either

A. Ford have next to no orders coming in that they can start production of new orders straightaway (unlikely) or

B. They have a very efficient order processing mechanism in place or

C. Skoda have so many orders coming in that they can't start production for eons (unlikely) or

D. Skoda have a very inefficient order processing mechanism in place

It's any two of those four. Take your pick.

But yours may have been in the line being built already they have a certain amount of cars that are built without customer orders, I've just ordered a Leon 290st in dynamic grey got a phone call saying they had 1 being built but with camera pack if I was interested, I said yes and it should be with me late September so nearly 5wks from ordering but if I stuck with original it would've been 16 weeks

Ordered my 230 in black on the 25 April 2016 and the build week was Monday passed  22nd August who would of thought you need to wait for 5 month for a skoda canny wait. can anybody tell me form date of build how long did it take for you to get your 230?

I had to wait about 10 weeks but it would have been quicker had I not have been one affected by the initial roof rails issue.

You might be right but mine had a shedload of optional extras so it wasn't exactly a bog-standard build.

 

I think it might have something to do with the profile of the car?  My wife's Fiesta took 14 weeks to arrive last year.........maybe Focus STs get priority in the pecking order?

That's cool I looked at a stealth grey nav st-3 estate with equivalent black pack with black 19s as wasn't prepared to wait 16wks for a 230 estate but somehow ended up with leon 290 black edition estate with few options with hopefully 5wk wait

Had a little trip to France for the Course de cote de La Harmoye and everywhere I parked the 230 it attracted a lot of attention...Never had to queue to get into my own car before      ...I didn't take a lot of pic's of her but here's one from the paddock...

good news for me, my build date has moved forward to end of this month so looking at October for delivery not November as 1st anticipated!

That's a fair price too...Might be tempted to sell mine if I could get over £20k

I'm not seeing any particular mistakes in that, except for it having Amundsen and not Bolero - have they updated it since you read it do you think? I would say it's a tad expensive though - mine was a grand less than that, admittedly with 4K miles on it not 2K but still...

 Just had a call from the dealer, my 230 is built and heading to the docks by train     In about 3 weeks I should have my hands on it.  

 

Mmmmmmm.......How am I going to tell Mr G,    I cant just park it on the drive, :no:  it's a different colour   :yes:   Do you think she'll notice   :think:

 

 

 

Hope it's wrapped up in cotton wool and bubble wrap,
