Maybe hold on then, seeing as nobody has actually seen the vRS yet.

Honestly I really believe that Jozef Kabaň has had a few shots of vodka before drawing that facelift. Especially the headlights, the rest of it let's say it's not WOW,  but after all it is a skoda and it works. I am so upset of because I really wanted to go for the second VRS Octavia...

Don't worry:

as for today you still have at least 329 chances / choices in Germany alone ;)

Eeeeh. It has to be purchased through one specific leasing company that my employer is working with. I will try to look for stocks at dealers or I will go for passat/ superb sportline. Much bigger car that I don't need, but I can't deal with those headlights...

Hey guys,

Configurator is live on Skoda's Slovakia site http://cc-cloud.skoda-auto.com/svk/svk/sk-sk/5e3/68718

That's disconcerting, there's still no 2.0 Petrol option in there. Has Slovakia never had the RS, or is this a sign of things to come? It seems strange the RS wouldn't be an option at launch for what seems like a pretty basic facelift? Having said that, there's surely no way Skoda can drop the RS given how high a percentage of their sales it makes up in a lot of markets.

The RS isn't there because it will be available later on. SEAT has done the same with the Leon FL. They only showed the regular versions at first and then a few weeks later introduced the Cupra.

Used the configurator to make up this one that looks like race blue to me

OMG! Over 60 colors to choose from!!! Even if you choose L&K ????

In Norway we have 11 colors to choose from on the L&K.

But still a crap front end.

But still a crap front end.

About as bad as the boss-eyed Scooby 'upgrade' a few years ago.

still not convinced on the front end but having had a play in the configurator, why don't we get all those colour options in the uk?!

Looks like colours for fleet orders ...  it says "Fleet farby" :

So - order a 100 Octavias at the same time and you can have Army Green, Baby Pink, or....

The Fabia is showing even more colours.

.... disappointing that, if you select Army Green ..  they don't offer the bullet-proof option in the extras page....

Why on earth would you have loads of extra colour choices which are only available to fleet buyers? These are the continental versions of people like the UK rental companies who buy loads of new Octavia's at huge discounts and then pass them on dirt cheap to the big secondhand dealers in the UK like Motorpoint and Arnold Clark, which is one reason that Octavia's have such crap residual values!

It just seems very disappointing that Skoda UK think we only want a limited choice of on the whole rather dull colours, surely if they are making cars in more colours they should be available to any buyer who wants to put their hard earned money on the table?

Those extra colour choices have always been available on the Czech configurator (well at least for the last few years I have used it anyway)

I still think from a few angles it looks like it has driven into a post on the front corner and been badly repaired leaving the lights bent and broken

I do like the new rear lights, and the heated steering wheel. Wonder if those can be retrofit to my 2016?

Or can the current front end be retrofitted to the face lift?!

On that configurator, Adaptive cruise is only a 345 Euro option.

  • 2 weeks later...

Skoda must have employed Kia & Hyundai designers recently. To my eyes both the new Kodiaq and face-lifted Octavia look decidedly Korean.

North or South?

Hyundai / Kia build in Continental Europe as Japanese companies like Suzuki do so they are just European looking really.

Peter Schreyer that designed the Audi TT & other Audi / VW designs for Hyundai.

Hyundai have a plant at Nosovice in Czech Republic, so as Czech as Skoda!

Kia build in Slovakia also JLR are opening a plant there also.

Tar and Feather me if you like, but the more I see the new front, the more I like it...

I also love the fact the Czech for wheels, is 'Disky'
