Sorry I obviously wasn't as clear as I should have been. My bad ?

I wonder when the UK configurator for the FL will go up? Presumably any factory order now will be for a FL?

Yes, but don't think they're taking new orders yet. Early next year, Feb possibly.

So, I haven't been on here for a while - 10 years in fact!

Been looking to replace my current car, with a new one via my company lease scheme.

I tried to browse through the Octavia options hoping to get a good deal on a vRS estate.

However, the current vRS wasnt available to order due to this facelift coming out during Q1 2017.

So, was frantically looking for any images on the facelift. At the time, the vRS images won't available, but I don't mind the the new front end. Yes, some will hate it. But it's a grower. When I saw the vRS images I loved it, although I do currently drive a Saab 9-3 Turbo X, which looks very similar!

I'm waiting for prices to be available, so I can make a decision. If a vRS 2.0 TDI estate comes in under £30k, I'm half way there!

Anyone been into a Skoda dealer in the last few days and asked for a factory order? In the normal scheme of things if you ordered one tomorrow you wouldn't be taking delivery until March which would be a facelift. Are they just trying to steer customers to stock cars at the moment?

I was in the local dealer a few days ago. Enquired about a new Octavia but they didn't mention anything about the facelift model.

I got the feeling they were offering whatever was in stock.

We have a company lease scheme at work, and they are not taking any new orders on the Octavia until the order books open for the facelift model.

Was at the Dealer today, and could order the New Facelift model. price was almost the same as the old model. But a lot of diff. in the option list.

i got the new LED front light with AFS. and a "style" package with 9,2 inch media sytem with wifi. led int. lights with color change. and some other stuff. 3 spoke sport steering with paddle shift. Canton speakers. Parkning sensor front and rear.

Quartz gray Wagon 1,8 TSI DSG.

And a **** load of Discount. so i had to order it ;-)

Sounds good!

Was it a 12 week delivery time?

Can't order the facelift in UK yet :(

wow lots of discount on a new model, oh i forgot they have been very brave in the design department. reminds me of when Ford did the Scorpio back in 1990s

I would need one hell of a discount / deal to get me in one

New VRS looks just as bad, was gonna order one next week but now i`ve seen the photo`s im going for the Suberb instead. Don`t care how much faster the new one is, it looks rubbish

I think I'm going to start an Octavia FL Appreciation Club :-) The AGM's will be quiet and cosy, but at least as President I won't need to fork out much for a members round  :D

If the interior quality improves, (especially the door cards) then I'm happy to join.

I just don't understand why the front-end changes are felt to be wrong, & as for comparing said changes to the Ford Granada / Scorpio facelift, that's just crazy...

(I woz there & the styling of the new car was very brave, but the interior was a great improvement, as was the drive.)

The FL has grown on me. I like the new crease either side of the bonnet/hood; the lights will give it a more up to date look. The current Octavia is has a handsome, some what conservative face that it is beginning to look dated to me. The Octavia FL Design Team are brave with this. The FL is far better looking than many other designs we have seen recently; Toyota Camry, Kia Sportage, and the new 2017 Hyundai 130 to name a few.

Nope sorry, not liking it. Looks like a copy of a previously ugly 2009 Merc E class

That Fugly I'll have one and discount that'll come with it and the VRS come with LED headlights which will be nice

Just been to my local dealer to look into changing my Mk3 VRS which will be 3 years old in April and knowing I needed to allow at least 12 weeks from experience.

I was informed you cant order a MK3 anymore and have to buy from stock.

MK3 FL VRS launch is in May (approx 6 weeks after standard models) with order books expected to open in March at some point (no fixed date yet)

Just hope the under the skin improvements include SCR

Wouldn't have said this a month ago, in fact would have avoided the additional complexity of SCR. Now realise through painful experience that Euro 6 achieved without SCR = active regen, active regen, active regen and more active regen.

Be very wary of any car achieving Euro 6 without SCR

As for the aesthetics - just different for the sake of being different, having said that looks like front radar will be less vulnerable to damage.

Be interesting to see how new lights performance compares with old.

Not unusual for a facelift not to look that great, they are always going to be something of a compromise compared with a genuinely new design.

Octavia 2 Pre FL is to my tastes a lot more elegant and understated than the Post FL which could at best be described as bolder, but is to my eyes just clumsier

Hello,

instead of complaining on the facelift, look on the bright side of live or the facelift.

Go to the configurator of Germany or Switserland and look for the options.

With regards.

That'll upset some 230 owners !!!

It shouldn't do. If any 230 owner thought that there was no chance of the 230 ever being eclipsed at some point then they were dreaming.

So they promised in the beginning of the event to show that new RS version, but they didn't! It was a crappy event, tbh.
