Modifying Your Fabia MK III

Recommended Posts

  • 2 weeks later...

i was with adrian flux was going to try brentacre but seeing as i sold my audi for my redline 1.0tsi 110bhp  had to cancel my insurance and g normal fr 305 a year, not paid that since i was 24 many years ago im 47 now , best bet mo your car see a specialist i know a few years ago adrian flux said to me 650 on one policy but they woud insure  every mod done to it and could do as much as i wanted in that year with no increase just phone and inform them car insured mods insured too , specialist insurers are there as generally people do more to the car and look after it , my only gripe with any insurer is say you fit better brakes you should py less as your going to stop quicker therefore as a rule be safer in the event of a near accident , but then it's all money i guess , must admit since i part exed my old car the dealer who dealt with mekeeps asking what mods am i doing to mine lol

Well yesterday's and this mornings job was to fit the splitter, went through a hacksaw blade and my neighbours cutting disc and a Stanley knife to remove the splitter from the Red Bumper!

Really has changed the front look of the Fabia.

Thank you for the reply.

Wouldn't mind one myself, but the chance of finding  one here in NZ is zero or even less, and the freight cost to get one here would be prohibitive. One of the downsides to living so far from civilisation

Just got mine lowered, Eibach springs. Looks so much better. Next step is remove lettering at the back and colour coded badges.

Are those 16" wheels, can't remember the exact model? Overall looking really nice! I've got a similar one minus black roof or lowering but have been thinking of lowering the car.

How is the ride with Eibachs? Are they Pro Kit lowering 25mm? You do have the original shocks with the Eibach springs?

Yeah the original 16" wheels. The ride is a little stiffer and slightly more bouncy. I got the Eibach pro kit lowering 45mm on the rear and 35mm on the front, springs on the standard shock absorbers.

It is just an actuarial risk - I suppose they don't know you from Adam. Saying that the more variables they remove from their portfolio the easier it is to manage.

I do not think that Adrian Flux would be considered a 'dodgy company'. Or was that just tongue in cheek?

Bill :)

Flux direct is Adrian Flux insurance (ex racing driver) modified car insurance specialist

They sponsor the BMR Subaru BTCC team of last years champion (Ash Sutton) and Jason Plato

Ex wife had a modded Abarth 500 insured through them, pretty much could mod what you wanted as long as you informed them all for same premium (apart from major things like dropping in a V8 or something)

That’s reassuring! I think I’ll go with them when my current policy ends. Thanks for that @Pumbajunior :)

Just been doing my research

Hopefully this time next month ill have a redline

Insurance finishes in November so looking into upgrades but nothing too silly so just got a quote from Flux

(its funny when you put mods down on meercat comparison site even a new rear exhaust bumped it up £100 lmao)

Looks good! Don’t suppose you have a link to the page you got the lowering springs from?

Cheers

Is the monte MK3 on eibach lowering springs more bouncy than normal or less? Ie when braking does the car lurch forward like it does on the standard springs.

The ride is very comfy i dont want to make it more bouncy than it already is...

Finally changed the rear passenger lights to blue festoons, real pig of a job the whole unit fell apart + the contacts fell out.

Most flimsy thing i have ever come accross!

How did you get them out? I have been looking at them and trying to remove them for a LED upgrade but I have so far failed.
