When they're sub £13k, I'll be interested enough to read it.  Never spent more than £13k on a brand new car yet.   Sub 30k is just not relevant to average people in a country where the mean

I like.

Nice simple interior a bit Fabia like.

That charging point really is an issue and a faff. I would expect especially in bad weather, snow on the car and ground. Or for those with a bad back.

Looks good. A direct comparison to the Zoe will be interesting.

When will the disgraceful UK government restore the £4.5k, rather than reducing it by £1k as they did, subsidy (it after all just making it zero rated for VAT after all) ?

Even better get it to rise with inflation by 3% per year ie increase by another hundred or two each year !

I agree about HMG; I do not agree that my money should be used to subsidise your new car.

That is why I prefer the zero rating of the VAT rather than the use of a so called subsidy that is really just refunding a similar amount to the VAT, in the case of the cheaper EVs and not even that in the lcase of the more expensive, and British built LEAF for example.

In my view both VAT and import duties should be lower than the ICE vehicles as they do much less harm to people and the environment.

If/When the UK leaves the EU then cars will become even less affordable as the Con government states it intends to apply the 10% tariff that the EU does on cars, ICE and EV.

Means ups running around in old very polluting bangers.

That is just sophistry; anything that gives one sort of new vehicle a purchase cost advantage over another is subsidisation in practice if not in name.

@lol-lol

When did Boris Johnsons UK Government announce  or state in the past 2 weeks that they intend to apply a 10% tariff that the EU does on cars?

When did Theresa May's lead Government state it?

Governments can choose what taxes they put on cars so, like electricity and diesel/petrol, they can choose to charge 0%, in the UK 5% as an intermediate rate, or the Standard rate, currently 20% in the UK.

Electricity currently charge at 5% Ad Valorem GST/VAT, Diesel, Petrol at 20%.

No problem with no subsidy for EVs but just charge them at Zero or the A rate for VAT of 5% to encourage their usage, get people to give up the dirty diesels, particularly the Euro 5 ones and below, and in conjunction with financial penalties for bring the dirty diesels in to cities, looks like going to be about £10 a day in the larger UK cities, this is aimed to encourage the move over to EVs and reduce the 40,000 premature deaths from NOX and PMs each year.  Simples.

You are not a stupid person so posting a draft means nothing,

The Queen asked Boris Johnson MP to form a government,

so please link where Boris Johnson or the new Chancellor States what you say the Government stated.

Bringing up what was the No Deal pan from the now defunked Goernment is not much of a help as there is a new team of clowns on the case.

Also the 12th March was a long long time ago in Politics.:o

Maybe the UK Government is not in formal discussions with other EU Governments, but you can be sure the Big Money behind the Boris / Jacob cronies are talking with the Big money behind EU leaders / Governments.

Have you heard something ? Is the Con government defunked and resigned ?  BoJo seen the errors of his ways and resigned ?

Boris is saying he want the UK to be place where stuff is done and sounds like he is fully supporting the move to let in "intermediate goods" for manufacture whilst protect producers by maintaining those tariffs for finished and agricultural goods which protect our industry and farmers, this is what the Con No Deal tariff is aimed to do then and now.

Deja vu, no, just repetition.

The Government in from your draft in March was no more as Theresa May MP told Madge she was Offski but not handing in the salary,

and Boris turned up and 'Was Asked to form a Government'.

Well it will interesting if there are substantial tariffs as few companies have upped their mechanism to pay the vast increase import charges so will have to hugely reduce what they import or very quickly up their Deferment customs duty and VAT payments else they will have to drastically reduce their flow of goods from abroad.

HMRC have been getting IPSOS Mori to do a straw poll for them of large key parties.  We will see if they react to the message they get back.

I just hope the sale of EVS, except the LEAF which is made here anyways, are not casualties of the BREXIT folly.

You are a haver.

HMRC paying tax payers money for a 'Straw Poll', not an actual poll by IPOS Mori of the relevant parties.

(even Ipos MORI)

They, IPSOS Mori, were based in Edinburgh doing this poll of key BREXIT companies, good thing right spreading the work around to the out-lying areas away from London.

If Scotland has any sense it will be heading out of the Union to stay in the EU, could be some good bottlegging oportunities to evade English duties across a new border ?
