Had to get up at 04:10 today to take SWMBO to Leicester Bus Station to catch the 05:05 to London, on my day off. The things we do to keep them happy.

As a singleton I don't have that problem. I just have a problem getting up for early shift (0345 - 0630) after that the next shift starts at 0745 which I can just about deal with.

 

Today and tomorrow on at 0810 which is generally quite acceptable.

Got home at 05:21 and averaged 49.2mpg in the wife's Karoq, incredible I thought until I left to pick her up at 16:20 and averaged 53.7mpg arriving in the centre of Leicester. Who needs a noisy, smelly diesel.

Couple of photo's to mark passing 20,000 miles. Wife borrowed the beast so 5 miles later than planned.

I think I'm nearly at 22,000 now!

Why would I bother doing that? The infotainment system already has a set of figures that reset automatically every refuel. 

Must admit one of my few OCD traits is to zero the trip after every fill up. Currently at 20,218 miles having been on holiday quite a bit over the last 2 weeks. 12 months tomorrow since it had its first remap at 7,000 miles and no issues/problems whatsoever since. Still getting a consistent 40mpg and 450 miles every tank. Just 17,000 miles until 2nd service due, which has already been paid for so no big money items this year as summer tyres will go on mid April.

Because I then know how many miles since from the last refuel without have to rummage around in an infotainment system.......

 

(Yes, I don't have a posh infotainment in my ancient Superb, but our Golf's are a bit younger & if I can find a decently equipped vRS

in hot humid Singapore, VW singapore imported the car with heated seats only. i was wondering if it is possible to disable the heaters and just get the fans going, so i can get some cool ventilated seats

 

possible to rosstech/vagcom to disable the heaters or a physical method?

Are there fans in the seats? If so I've never heard then running when the heated seats are on.

Yeah, I don’t think that’s a thing. It’s just heating elements. No fans.

Finally I would like to point out that over the first 12,500 miles I used the standard 19" Extreme alloys with P Zero 225/35 tyres, then wider 8.5J x 19" alloys with Michelin PS4S 235/35 tyres upto 16,700 miles and now on 7.5J x 18" alloys with P zero 225/40 tyres.

At last!  It arrived - 8 miles on the clock on collection, 150 now - mostly motorway so limited fun - but I'm liking very much so far!

Thanks.  I ordered early Jan so not too long really.

Finally arrived last week after ordering start of Dec! Really happy with it, was a bit anxious as after test driving about 10 other vehicles i decided to go for the Octavia without ever having been in one!

Cheeky. Talking alloys going to put my 8.5J x 19" Monsters on this week as forecast is dry and lighter evenings by next weekend so I might actually be able to see them when I finish work.
