Chucked a bucket of water over it. Three hours later this is the result.         Happy with that

It looks like that would be the correct part indeed. I can’t be 100% sure since I haven’t had a look at the part number, but the virtual cockpit for the Superb is actually rather new still, so I doubt there would already be a revision for it.

I’d be wary about ordering from that specific site, though, I’ve read multiple bad reviews.

x2 I had a bad experience with carsequipment...better to avoid...A real shame, I used to buy lots from them...

Goed gedaan trouwens, mede-Belg ;)

Enabled High Beam Assist; one of the reasons I spec'd Traffic Sign Recognition was to get the A5 camera and enable HBA but I've never bothered until today.  Some of the options have changed since doing this on a MY17 car so I'll have to wait until dark for a road test.  Fingers crossed!

Lane Assist really isn't worth wasting any brain energy on it unless you tape a couple of sausages to the wheel to fool the computer as pistonbroke suggested. There is no benefit IMHO in day to day driving but blind spot monitoring in the mirrors is much more useful if you haven't previously had it and avoids those near misses and resulting boxer stains.

You are correct. Like Park Assist it’s a feature that you use once, wow your passengers and then never use it because it’s crap.

But it despite this I was going to have a look 😂

Thought I would save you some time so that you can spend more time reading my dedicated Sportline Plus thread (only joking, that's optional viewing).:tongueout:

i have asked to dealer comment these OBDeleven reports,

Crikey that looks like a computer virus then again I sent my first e-mail when I was 50 years old (2014).

Funny - I have found Lane Assist to be one of the most valuable tools in wet night-time driving, unlike HBA. Especially when on the unlit motorway in the teeming rain. The car sees the lines better than I do - and yes I have been to Specsavers!

That’s a good use case Jeff and sounds like it does ‘assist’ you. I honestly just didn’t like using it as I felt it’s inputs were intrusive and felt alien.

Do you all do these HBA and Lane Assist changes yourselves or via a dealer please?

Lane Assist was standard on mine. I enabled High Beam Assist myself using OBDEleven. Dealers won't generally do coding changes, but there is a sticky thread of forum members who will use VCDS to make changes for you in return for beer vouchers.

I enabled high beam assist but ended up switching it off as at times it’s just too slow to react and people just flash you all the time. As humans we see the lights coming over the brow of the hill and switch the main beam off before we see the actual lights. The car won’t do that.

Blind spot warning lights - I was really keen on this when I bought the car but I find it a bit annoying that when a car passes you, there is a bit of a delay before the light goes off. If you try to pull out too soon after it has passed, the light starts blinking and the wheel resists your input and you find yourself looking around thinking “but there’s nothing there!”

There's a secret to managing Lane Assist. Put your hands over your eyes and the inputs don't feel alien at all. If you can scream silently like me, you can hear the "take over steering" bong and move the steering wheel with your knees. :D

I did that for a laugh in my Vrs245 with an unsuspecting friend who had an old car on a dual carriageway I told him I felt sleepy and could he take the wheel with Lane Assist active and the steering wheel tugging gently against his inputs from the passenger seat. Boy did I laugh.:tongueout:

With Lane Assist, make sure u have "Adaptive Lane Guidance" also activated in addition to the Lane Assist.

It doesn't yank u then.

It doesn't ping pong between the lanes.

I find HBA more useful, and works a treat for me.

Cruel Shy - but very funny nonetheless :).

I think it was Michael Gambon who used to pretend to collapse over the controls of his light aircraft when he had non-pilot passengers (autopilot engaged of course). That's taking it too far...

Today I have emptied my stuff out of the Superb, and put it in the Kodiaq that was delivered on Monday. Pleased with the Kodiaq in many respects, but the interior quality isn't as high as the Superb and there are some weird cheapskate things missing in the Kodiaq, like warning lights in the doors and some interior lighting. I wouldn't mind but the Kodiaq is an L&K and I've come from a Superb that was 'just' an SEL.... 🙄

Interesting. I was looking at a Kodiaq Sportline a few months back and thought some interior touches were nicer than the Superb -  seats, gear selector, dash layout and some of the dash inserts/panels.  This was just an open the door and stick my head in experience though.

I bought my 280 estate with towing in mind. Well today I went and collected my first caravan and towed it home.

The car did as well as I expected it to. I have decided that I can't tolerate this soft suspension anymore.

I don't want to lower my car. It needs stiffening up.

Has anyone got any recommendations please - thanks.

A similar subject is ongoing at the mo; it may be of interest:

Nothing much today apart from the usual commute, but yesterday I got around to updating the sat nav, and it worked. Took just under an hour in the car.

It took longer to download the file from the update portal, and nearly as long to unzip, but I did unzip straight to the sd card.
