My MK3 VRS 245

Turned out it my was the drivers door catch/slam causing the door to rattle. Skoda just refitted so fingers crossed it's solved.

They gave me a s-hitigo for the day, what a piece of crap. Fuel flap missing, manual key, fixed seat adjustments. Drives like a bumper car with a tractor engine! But its got black alloys and tinted windows

Thanks for the headsup, I might try a bit of grease and tighten up the screws...

My sunroof also rattles terribly which is very annoying

  • Got the car detailed today and had some scratches removed. Received some parts from Superskoda so started to fit.   First full set of rubber mats for cab and boot. Then changed the foot rest

Worth turning the wheels inwards in order to create space for drill behind wheel. No way drill will work with wheel turned out to to angle. Gotta be pretty flexible to make it work! I decided to just use short self tapers with washers using my hand then a short stubby screwdriver.

Skoda should really come up with a better fitting solution as the mudflaps don't hug the car. There's always a slight gap which will collect mud, grit and crap next to paint work. Seen a video of someone fitting ford mudflaps and they have a better fitting system with proper fold over clips etc which pull the mud flaps to the car.

Front badge switched out to black one.

What a pig of job to remove the old badge. Used sticky stuff remover but there is so much sticker on the badge that I couldn't cut it away with floss.

I heavily taped up around the badge and taped a black bag over grill and bumper (paranoid of damaging other parts with chemicals). I soaked the badge carefully with sticky stuff spray. Then used a plastic removal tool (everyone should own a set of these, useful for some many car jobs) very carefully. All that happened was the outer silver ring came away from black back.

Then with the plastic tool I gently tried to lift back of badge but it just kept snapping off in small pieces. No damage to car just a pain in the ass. Then removing the remaining sticker took and age. The rear was alot easier. At lease I can feel confident the new ones won't come off!

Talked my Dad into swapping his old style badges for chrome/black ones on his 62 plate Superb. Gave him some pointers to help him but as a former F1 engineer it wasn't too difficult for him.:tongueout:

It's wasn't rocket science, it's just the stickers Skoda has used really wasn't giving up.

Rear is almost naked. Rear Skoda emblem was alot easier to remove. Thought my word badges had left imprint in laquer but luckily a polish sorted it.

Still feel the VRS badge, as it is, looks kinda stupid on boot edge. Tempted to get Monte Carlo black VRS badge, so it's still there but more subtle. Or move it to where Octavia badge was....?

Knowing me I'll live to regret this change and put the badges back to factory fit (did this on my MK2 )

Heko wind deflectors fitted. Well 3 of them as I snapped one....(Replacement on route).

Not loving them fit wise as the metal clips don't go very deep and show slightly - yes I pushed them in. Also there some slight rubbing when windows close.

Out of the box they have small micros scratches. Apart from all that, happy....:worried:

Yep yep. Bonnet lifters and hard wiring in front and rear cameras next. Bonnet insulation on route.

Still considering personalised number plates.

So toying with 3 ideas for rear end.

  • As is with lone VRS badge.
  • Move badge up.
  • Remove badge.

At the moment 2 is my fav as I'm not keen on low placement as is.

Mine is 1, vRS badge as is.

But 2 looks really good!!

Option 1 for me. Option 2 looks like you’ve badged it a vRS yourself.  Reminds me of the guy round my way who owns a Mercedes C180 AMG BRABUS SPORT TYPE R GTI.

That's what thought people might think. It's the right spot for badges to my eye.

You should have at least 1 flip key with a Citigo above S spec, they must have given you the spare.

The perfect stable (diesel power aside! ;-) )

I have the same, vRS 220 DSG Estate and Citigo 75PS s/s with £0 road tax.

Love them both & enjoy driving both almost equally!

You leave my diesel alone! Tractor power it might be, but it’s not too bad.

The Octy is a vRS 184 TDi DSG and the Citigo is a Monte Carlo 60ps and is a great little go kart.

Another question OP, where did that sunvisor sticker come from? Looks much better :)

Technically it would only be a tractor if you are using red diesel.:notme:

Sounds like a tractor!!

I'd do option 4

Get rid of the GB plate for symmetry.

Oh GB plate is going 100%. Just deciding whether to get personalised plate or not.

Not really worth £14.99 but had to do it.

Stickers here:

Thanks a lot, bit more than I expected but the notice is ugly!

For a quick fix and a cheap £5 I bought the waterproof bag. Think it will tide me over nicely until I get a fitted bag.

Installed screen protector on head unit glass. Not the very best cut in the world but it certainly helps with finger prints.
