272 Superb OPF stageIII

I've always lusted after a Mustang, but when I looked closely, they are very wide. Wider than my Sportline. Don't drive one in Napoli. 🤪

Oh, and the cost of fuel has suddenly become more of a concern...

Not many NA v8 cars about anymore, get them while you can. I'd consider one of those 5.0 v8 Lexus too.

We won't have v8 cars for much longer, the new Mustang that should be presented next year will be hybrid too 😱.
Lexus costs a lot and I am not thrilled, if I could afford it I would rather go on an amg v8. Other than that, it doesn't seem to me that Lexus currently sells v8 models, at least not here in Italy. But they would be out of my reach anyway...

Your daughter will get round to it soon enough lol

she says the only nice thing about the Mustang is its sound ... for me it's already a good start! :D

it is very wide and, perhaps you do not understand from the photos, but it has a really huge front. For example, if you stand in front of the car, you barely touch the center of the front hood. Amazing. For comparison, in the Superb I can get to the windshield wipers while standing in front of the car.

The cost of fuel is also now a big outlay, as I drive between 6.5 to 7.5 km/l (17 to 21 mpg) on average on a full tank. And every tank i add 1 lt can of octane booster (25€ each time) that keeps injectors clean and also improves octane.

I remember going to the Geneva Motor Show when the Mustang was released to the EU.

My overriding thoughts were that not only was it 'large' but not very well finished compared to the German marques.

Yes, you can safely say that they are very badly finished. A while ago I got to use a Ford Edge, which is supposed to be a high-end model in the Ford list, but the finish surprised me in the negative.
The Mustang is no exception, it's immediately evident that it is very spartan inside.
The handbrake lever that rises almost vertically... horrible. On a brand new car that is on sale for € 78,500.

But that engine sound...

Agree the sound is the attraction. It is also a big car, long bonnet and wider than a superb.

Didn't know they don't sell the ISF in Italy. I'd personally would have a Lexus GSF if I could afford it... But at 2quid/Litre petrol, every rev would cost a bit ...

Have fun with the mustang!

Hi @Bigeater, I'm waiting for the new car I ordered, I've decided over the past few months that I've invested too much in the Superb to resell it and therefore it's going to be wify's car. For this reason, I made some small modifications: I reinstalled the original engine mounts (the racing ones caused vibrations), I reinstalled stock rear mufflers.
Obviously a setup like this I have to pay more attention using only 100 octane petrol, oil change every year, spark plugs replaced every year. Always let it warm up before pushing and leave it at idle for a few minutes before turning it off. But the car runs very well!

In may it will be three years of stage 3. Once I had to change all four injectors due to low quality petrol. Other than that, no problem.
Supersprint rear muffler... I have to sell them but I haven't had time to advertise yet 😅

Pm me some details please! 😁

Nice one RoscIo and it’s great that you’ve kept the Superb.
Briskodian Prykey, who was the original owner of our 280, part ex’d it for a new Mustang GT in Feb ‘21 and it went to the block. It was bought by George Kingsley, a performance car specialist in Chelmsford and I bought it from them in March ‘21.
