KPH/MPH

Featured Replies

This thread seems to have gone quiet. Does that imply that the latest 'fix' does indeed solve the issues. My car is booked in for next week. I hope this will solve the kph/mph issue. I have also ordered the High Bean Assist and asked for a dashcam to be installed. I have noticed from some posted images that some cars have the time on the virtual dash - mine doesn't. Hopefully that will be another fix.

I'm afraid I've joined the growing list of owners rejecting vehicles plagued with the technological problems. (It would be interesting to know how many have been rejected over recent months.......)

It may be quiet because we have been informed that a fix is coming this month. I was told it would be roughly third week of June. So I'm waiting on confirmation and my car is still with the dealer. Others may be the same.

Yes , I'm also waiting for my local dealer to recall my car.Meanwhile my neighbour was hit from behind yesterday when his auto assist braking initiated .Just think hiw dangerous this is in winter weather .

Sitting and thinking and just considering how many on this forum have reported actually being hit from behind at any time of the year because of Auto Assist Braking, or who just posted about close things and no hit.   The Insurers will know how many blame the Auto Braking or just drivers hitting then up the jacksy because they are too close and driving without due care and attention.     Maybe the car following cars with Auto Braking need Auto Braking functioning.

I too am in waiting mode. I was told on 10th June that the factory would be releasing a fix in 2 weeks, so not long now.  Meanwhile my car has been at the local dealer since 26th April & I've been putting miles on the hire car. I keep getting messages from Lookers in Stockport, from where I bought the car, saying it's due for a service. I think the are taking the mickey, as my local dealer checked the database & say I'm on variable servicing so it's not due for another year.

Lookers have been particularly useless. I wouldn't go near them again even with an extra long bargepole.

Let's hope the fix works & doesn't introduce any new problems

The fix you are talking about , is it 1803 or something bigger like a full re-map

No idea of details, but I was told it is a software update so should be instantly available for download to dealers when released.

I was informed of this in a call from Kate Laws, who I feel is doing her best in a situation not of her making. I found some of the derogatory

remarks in this thread disappointing & was surprised they weren't edited out.

Yes, been quiet because we're in 'wait mode'; my car been at the dealers since 14th April. Meanwhile, I'm piling the mileage on the loan car too.

I missed a call from Kate Laws yesterday but picked up her voicemail - basically, still on track for the update next week. Not sure of the full extent of the update, but 'miles per hour' mentioned in this call whilst a couple of weeks back also made reference to a number of other issues. My dealer is also expecting a second update in a further five weeks.

Well said @golfnut. I feel Kate Laws has managed my expectations very well in a difficult situation over which she has limited (maybe no) control.

Our software update is being done tomorrow, so I'll report back once I've tested it. The only issue I have is not being able to save favourites in the satnav and I'll see whether there are any sub-menus I've not yet been able to access. I'll also post the reference number of the fix.

I haven't had any update in over 10 weeks from either the dealership nor Kate. In fact, a single call from her when she was trying to reach someone else :)

Anyway, my car is showing as unlocked so they may have moved it back into the dealership to perform the upgrade... fingers crossed.

I spoke to Kate Laws today and was informed the fix is scheduled for next weekly, hopefully.

Strange. I have just had a call from Kate Laws. She said that the kph/mph fix was still awaited from the factory. When I said to her that my car had been booked in, at the Dealer's request, next Wednesday she suggested that this was just a general update. Will be interesting to see what actually changes. Will await Jin2015'w update with great interest.

That's an interesting curve ball... I thought she had confirmed recently to other members that the kmh/mpg fix was due this week or did I dream this?

She confirmed it with me when I psoted a few weeks ago.  I wont be accepting my car back if it isn't fixed and it would still not meet UK Laws.

Could well be right. The update which I have been told about is not yet released, rather it's scheduled for next week. When your dealer requested your car go in they may well have had a general update in mind - or they are being proactive in the hope that the kph/mph update is released early in the week (personally, and based on the s/ware developers where I used to work, I don't expect it till 5pm Friday).

@Coume - no you didn't dream it ;-)     Last I heard (Tuesday) its still on track for next week.

Mine is going in next Thursday for the dealer/garage to investigate slight kangarooing on a 1.5 TSI when cold.

The service department mentioned on the phone that there was a "campaign" open against the car and it would have a software update performed when it was with them.

My system information currently shows: Device part number: 5E3035816,  Hardware: H56,  Software: 1668,  DU/CPH: H44,  DU/CPS: 2088,  ND: 21.1, MC: 3.1.4 so I'll report back on what changes (if any) occur!

Interesting that yours is going in for 'kangerooing'. Mine had that and the dealership refused to accept that it did it because it wasn't being logged on the car computer. When I asked them if they had actually driven it, they hadn't! I now have the mk 3.5 facelift with the manual 1.5 and it has the kangerooing as well (only a little and certainly tolerable). I also have two people that I work with, they have it too. I hope they sort it with you. If they do, please could you ask them what they did, because I am having no luck! Thanks

Anyone had a the update done?  I believe it was due this week.

I received an update last week but my car is the SE First Edition with the 8" screen. I've not had a single issue with it since (I'd not had any issues in the previous 4 weeks since changing how I start the car).

Miner's going in tomorrow. Will update after I get the car back.

I had a call from Skoda UK this afternoon. They’re awaiting final confirmation from the factory later this week regarding the release of the update.

Managing my own expectations, I’m assuming it’ll well in to next week before we see the first cars with the update installed - and that rollout will likely be impacted by Dealer workloads. Even though they have my car, I can almost guarantee they’re not sat there twiddling their thumbs waiting to apply the update to it. Like to think they’d prioritise it though!

See my comment in the thread 'The good, the (not so) bad and definitely not ugly Octavia iV Estate'. The software update failed after four days.

Thanks @Jim2015.  There's a specific software fix for an issue with earlier models around the mph/kmh switching on the speedo and Sat Nav.  There are a few us waiting for this fix and Skoda taking our cars back in for weeks/months whilst they resolved the issue.   It was supposed to be this week.

Latest email from Skoda Executive UK ,seems its a more difficult fix than anticipated .

Following on from my last contact with you, please let me assure you that we are treating your concerns with the upmost importance and it is for that reason it is taking slightly longer for me to come back to you than I anticipated. I can confirm we are working to ensure our investigations are completed within a timely manner and I will once again update you further on Wednesday.

Thank you for your patience.

My car has been in to the dealer today. Software update done but I can't see any difference. Very disappointing. The service manager did acknowledge the kph/mph fault and said they were awaiting an update from Skoda. So the situation drags on.
