  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

Car was scheduled for week 45

Mine was built week 39, delayed due to a missing part (or parts) I received the VIN week 41... My dealer tells me he has another 4 cars built the same week in the same situation.

I try to convince myself that after all these supply chain issues, they only produce cars if they know that the cars can be delivered within few days / weeks after the car left the final assembly line even if they have to wait for some additional spare parts. In my case, with a week 42 built date, and a VIN, I'm hoping for a delivery within the next 1,5 months before Christmas.

We got bad news on our company cars.

My company ordered 4 Octavia RS iV in October 21.

Slightly different configurations, but similar Prices. All cars between 50k and 52k €.

Initial Delivery Estimates were all May to June 22.

Update in March: October 22

Update in October: All Cars moved to 2023. The earliest in week 5, the last in Week 25.

German subsidies on PHEV Vehicles will run out end of 2022.

Dealer told us Skoda/VAG will cover the missing subsidies in the event the government doesn't extend the program into 2023 for cars ordered in 21.

In that case they basically lose 4000€ on each car. It is possible that cars affected by that get priority.

Pretty sure we are talking about a lot of cars affected by this. Germany is Skodas biggest Market, the Octavia has been a very popular company car for years. PHEV get taxed half.

Looks like Week 43 production for me now which would mean delivery end Nov/beginning Dec all going well.

Had already decided that I'd be holding off for the new year registration once it went beyond October so hopefully will be ready for early Jan at the very least.

Week 43 happened thankfully and told today, car is made and on the way to Emden Port for December delivery.

So looks like it will be just under the 1 year mark from ordering to delivery which, strange to say it, would actually be one of the quicker turnarounds.

If i get the Vin number from my dealer can i see any information about the car being made in MySkoda app?

No, not really; but you'll know when the car is completed - that's about the moment when it will be shown in the App with the correct image.

This was the timeline in my case:

Have you got any information what's happened during those 1,5 months between the VIN giving and the finish? E.g.: waiting for missing parts?

AFAIK the VIN is generated when they plan the production of the car, not when they actually start building it.
So probably the system "evaluated" that the car could be built about >1 month before it actually entered into production. What I know from the dealer is that mine didn't wait for parts

Still no further forward with my new company car order (Octavia vRS iV Estate ordered Nov '21). Leasing company is still saying January 2023.

I am away with work this week and by chance my hire car is an Octavia Estate, 1.0 Se Technology, so its giving me a taste of what I have to look forward to.

Overall it's a really nice car, but even the hire car has some 'bugs'. There has been multiple warnings that the front sensors are not working and something about manoeuvring breaking not available?

There also also been a few 'pops' randomly happening.

Lets hope my car has all these issues ironed out.

I had an e-mail from my dealer in Cardiff today.

Build is scheduled for 28 November - week 48.

Ordered on 30 March so wasn't expecting it 'till April 2023 at the earliest so now looking forward to it. Maybe delivery sometime in January?? How long does it take from build week to delivery at dealer in UK - over 1 month I would guess with Christmas in the mix?

Octavia vRS TSi 245 in Race blue with Pano roof, spare wheel, net partition and towbar preparation

Has anyone fitted genuine Octavia mudflaps to a vRS??

This is the latest update from the lease company I ordered from way back in Sept 21. VRS IV estate with no extras.....

Just a quick update on your order.  We chased 4 orders in particular that are still showing as having an unconfirmed build week, one of which is yours.

Skoda have advised the following:

Skoda have now closed production of the Hybrid engine, which all of the ones you’ve chased are. This is in an attempt to get the ones on order built. They have confirmed that all Hybrids will be built as and when quota becomes available.  We hope to have more information during December.

After parking my decision to join the ranks of Octavia vRS owners, a dealer development has given me some food for thought to re-consider.

A 1.9% finance deal is on and the dealer has a pre-ordered for stock unit in my desired spec arriving sometime in Dec.

My head says one thing, my heart another, largely owing to the known facelift that has been spotted in testing.  Trouble is, will this be a spring '23 launch or a MY24 intro in autumn/fall?

Owing to the backlog of orders yet to be built and delivered, intuition would suggest the latter but that still leaves only a year or so before the new version breaks cover.

Should I or shouldn't I?

Any advice is appreciated.

It’s only a facelift, not a new model.

So unless you have a hate of the bits that usually change (lights, wheel trims etc ) then probably not worth waiting if there is good offer on.   Maybe a few specs will change (but lack of components has seen plenty of that going on over last 2 years anyway).

Octavia orders are now about 8 months (much longer for the now withdrawn hybrid version), so even if it is launched in few months, could easily be late 2023 by time dealers actually get them.

Typically the change of manufacturing takes place during the summer factory closure, which would mean that the facelift would be a MY24 available in autumn/fall 2023.

Finally got my car a couple of weeks ago. And it pains me to admit it, but I’m glad I waited.

I agree it's worth waiting for, but prolonging the waiting times brings frustration.

Regarding your car, there is one thing for sure; even if you forget where you left your car, you could not miss it in a parking lot even if you wanted to 😉😀.

Is there anyone, who had a "missing part(s)" status after the built week, but since then already got the car?

My point is to figure out recently how long does is take to get out from this status, after the production.

My order is an estate, with 1.5 mild hybrid (e-TEC) engine, DSG and dynamics sport package. The build date was on week 42.

Util the proposed built week, there was always a specific date (week number) to wait, but since the production week, I feel like we entered into an information vacuum.

My dealer said that the additional wait time can be a few days, a month or even more... and it’s very frustrating after 18 months of waiting.

New Company Car was ordered End of September 2021, Octavia IV SEL Estate, with Winter pack, Race Blue. We were told at the time that it would de delivered Feb 22.   Ha ha very good... when dealers were quoting 30+ Weeks....

Still no Car, Not even a build date.  Its getting beyond a joke.  Poor old Seat Leon tdi is on its last legs, 142000 miles...and counting

I work in an industry where we buy electronic components, and it is dire, trying to find components is tuff, as with everything in life there are those who try and exploit this, by selling  at vastly inflated prices, and also selling parts that are wrongly identified....  Its a big mess out there....and I cant see it getting any better....

Today dealer called me and said they have a problem with smartlink modules. Nobody knows why and when they will get them.

I heard exactly the same from my dealer (in Hungary). The smartlink modules causing delays recently. Mine was built a month ago and still waiting for that module.

The dealer said that although they don’t have more, official info – by their previous experiences – the factory probably will finish and deliver these cars before the end of the year (because of the EU quotas and quarterly reports).

Octavia VRS 4X4 DSG. Ordered June 2022

Build week 40 (early Oct 2022)

Status 20

Dealership have told me it’s not been built and no VIN. They haven’t a clue why.

Anyone with any bright suggestions why?

I ordered mine October 21 and it is still not here so you will be lucky if you get your car in a month or two.
