As @TheWanderer has put it perfectly, from me or @Rainesh

And of course apply at own risk, though as you can see members are providing excellent feedback, example being @Bloembol just above, and several others with longer time now with 1941 loaded.

Great work @varooom and @Raineshhelping the community.

I have 3 months warranty left so I will try and get the dealer to perform the upgrade.

However, please can I get a copy of 1941 just incase they won't and I have to end up doing it myself?

Release Version: MO13_EU_SK_R8960L Software version: 1896

Thank you both very much!

  • I had so many spontaneous reboots this week with even 4 occurring on the same day that the infotainment system was practically unusable. That’s why I decided to go ahead and install 1941 yesterday.

Hello

I have Octavia 4 for 2 weeks, still restarting, sometimes infotaiment´s touch screen stop working, sometimes it not switching off.

Version of infotaiment is 1900, HW 61.

Varooom, can i kindly ask for link for 1941 version? I want to try to update it by myself before i will give this car to dealership.

Thank you.

No issues yet besides the shop not working due to some service that's not started. I can live with that if the rest of the car functions normally.
I'll make screenshot/clip next time i'm in the car and get these messages for reference here in this thread.

I noticed tough that startup and menu operation is a bit quicker, more responsive. I'll be honest, this might just be a placebo if having something new and shiny 🙂
It's a bit too early to say that it is a 100% success but so far no Infotainment crash.

What USB you used to update? I got the file from @varooom and now looking for the storage to install it.

I’m pleased to report that more than a week has passed since I installed 1941 and no bugs have occurred ever since. So far, 1941 has been rock solid for me. The car should have worked like that since the very beginning.

Use a USB C memory stick or a normal USB memory stick with a USB C adapter. I don't know which is USB slot 1 or 2, but I don't think it really matters.

The only thing I have noted is occasional mentions of shop not working and minor issues. varooom & Rainesh maybe able to expand on that with their expertise.

Hey @varooom.
Any chance you can share the file, I've been searching the web for a solution for long time, the restarts have turned some cogs in my head lmao.
I willing to try the manual update cannot be bothered anymore with incompetent dealer people..

Thank you.

Yes, in less than 5 mins, where dealers would be 5 weeks... 😆

@varooom could you send me link too for the firmware file? Thanks,

Would like to hop on the 1941 train too if possible? Still got warranty but would like to have it just in case they refuse in future.
