  • I had so many spontaneous reboots this week with even 4 occurring on the same day that the infotainment system was practically unusable. That’s why I decided to go ahead and install 1941 yesterday.

please can I request the file. Thank you.

Is it possible to get this link?

*laughs maniacally* So I've just had mine dropped back off from the garage, so they have swapped the 5F for the same HW revision H56 - but it's on a truely ancident version now, 1668. It also doesn't know what version of panel it has connected. I'm hoping it'll figure itself out in a bit. Guess I'll be installing 1941 myself, ffs.

That's quite a version jump, not shure if I'd go for it on my own risk. Better ask your dealer if they can get you up to date since they downgraded you in the first place.

1668 might not able to upgrade directly to 1941, according to TPI it should be at least 1788 or higher. Also on 1941 update files there are exclusion for below version of software:

"BlockedTrains" : [
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R5890L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R5910L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R6030L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R6040L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R6210L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R6400L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R6460L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R6500L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7160L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7170L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7290L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7300L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7450L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7550L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7560L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7570L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7580L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7590L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7600L",
    "MOI3_EU_SK_R7610L"
  ],

Which means you need first upgrade to 1788 or higher and then do 1941.

You need 2 or 3 updates.

There is a release called SK20220307SEQSW96 that has TWO updates in one package, first takes you to 1762, next brings you to 1896.

Then you need to load the 1941 update

Thanks @Foxik, I've just dug through the update a little and found the manifest with the same block list,  and @varooom, you absolute star.

I'm going to have to drum up the energy to argue this with the garage - as far as they are concerned they believe their swapping of the MIB3 will have solved the issue.... and I guess it will have because the firmware is so old its from before the reboot issues really became obvious - I'm sure it's got other issues though.

Unless I can demonstrate any more issues it's going to be a fight - they were not receptive to my information on 1941 even existing, more interested in how I got hold of the TPI (didn't know erwin existed) - they told me the TPI just wasn't relievent because they've swapped the unit out. I was not impressed.

A while back my SEL FE was on 1668 which did have some issues; the dealer updated it to 1896 which is where it is now. It took the dealer two steps (and several days) to get there - presumably through 1762. It's back there in a couple of weeks during which time I hope they update it to 1941 (or later if a further update exists).

@varooom you have been an absolute star, sharing so much valuable information and help to other Biskodians in this thread (and others). Thank you very much, and enjoy your leave.

Hello, is there anyone who can help me? I'm struggling with Apple CarPlay on my Skoda Fabia 2019. The music is stuttering, and the recipient can't hear me during calls. Is there an update that can be installed? My workshop says there is nothing they kan do. but I've seen some people who have had the same problem as me.
hope some of you kan help

True. When I brought my car last time citing TPI, the guy on reception was veeeery curious.

When I got back the new MIB with 1668 on it, I had both - same reboots and on/off loops as on 1986, and many other issues I hadn't before which come with the older SW.

Oh well that'll be fun 🤣 - here's hoping it shows up pretty quickly - thanks @Edela. I've already noticed that Bluetooth is playing up with cut outs, as well as CarPlay audio which used to be fine. :shake:

Sorry @Edela what I should have asked is how did you get it off of 1668, did just take it to the garage and complain about the reboots?

Brought it there on Monday 3rd and yes, complained that all issues stay the same and a bunch of new issues arrived, including issue with Travel Assist - steering wheel stopped sensing my hands on it unless I squeeze it very hard.  Specifically complained that for the second time already they gave me car back with the oldest possible SW. The car is still there and they haven't provided even any initial info since then. Bothering importer's customer support every other day, but these guys are useless as well. "The Official Repair Service is in consultations directly with the manufacturer, so we expect them to have a solution in a relatively short time." is their response. Bla bla bla... Never ever thought I will spend 36k on a car just to bring it constantly to workshops and living without it.

Been on 1941 now for a week, not a single reboot. Done at a dealer, on warranty, did it in about an hour. They were ok doing it, I just complained about daily reboots with 1896.

Hey!

I own Skoda Octavia iV vRS 06/2022. I already visited a dealership in December, they told me that some firmware update was applied, but today I found I'm still on 1804.

I have no problem with system reboot, but I have cracking sound from small speaker and endless unsuccessful manual installation.

@varooomis it safe for me to upgrade to 1941? If so, please share a file, many thanks

After suffering system reboots for 3-4 weeks and complaining to dealer, they updated software from 1896 to 1941 two days ago. Seemed to take them a few hours but no issues yet - still early days. Skoda Octavia vRS iV estate January 2021 15k miles.

Few Hours! Once I extracted the files to the memory stick and plucked up the nerve to do the update it took no more than 45m to complete.

1804 is on the list of supported upgrade paths in the TPI, you should be good. 20-30 users have already updated successfully and haven't heard of any failed installs so far. But as usual, everything you do is on your own risk. I'm sending you a PM with the link.

When you say extracted the files What did you do to do this? I have only got one file a 7Z file about 9.3 gb downloaded from the link. Sorry not very technical with stuff like this!

If you can't decompress the file Just download and Install "7zip":

https://www.7-zip.org/

I was going to shoot a little video, too about how to handle the update in your car but at the end of it i had to realize that I didn't hit the record button probably lol.

All in all it was quite self explaining and took a little patience in some stages of the procedure.
