I'm sorry sir or madame, you can't park there.

Here's a new one; according to news reports, the vehicle "accidentally" reversed all the way off the street and almost the full length of the vehicle through the restaurant window ...

Fortunately no-one was reported hurt on this one - but how did they get the car there and apparently in one piece?

I'm thinking that it was an amazing combo of dodgy traffic sign recognition, lane keeping assist and very active suspension, no?

That's as good an explanation as any, Pete :)

barriers look damaged under the flyover, were they coming the other way and crossed the carriage way?

i dont know the roads, so the police description in the article is a bit vague tbh.

also, that is one god awful webpage layout! between ads, media window popups and too many clunky links... made reading the article short as it was painful :D

I use an ad blocker so don't see all that cr"p.  Would it be better if I dumped a clean copy to pdf and posted it like that in the future?

and Lee is right, its not the only offender, and sometimes its because the site isnt mobile optimised very well and it gets compressed into not enough room

Not strictly a parking issue, more a consequence of a slavish belief in the technology of the satnav and a complete failure to consider the real size of the vehicle in conjunction with the road conditions - either that or the driver's a real - and dumb - chancer!

No entry except for access?

Looks like even Mr Google's magic camera car didn't go down there ...

You can drop the yellow man onto mill road so it must have come down the other way

or it may have been done by a bike..

also, if you look along the Spanish coast, they strapped the camera gear to a rail wagon and di the train tracks :)

they did it in Switzerland/Austria too, on the mountain railway. its hilarious though, as you can point the camera towards the loco, someone clearly at the planning stage decided it was vital that the camera be escorted, because theres some poor sod railway worker strapped into a Sparko seat on the wagon with the camera rig :D

Stupid or bloody-minded?  You decide ...

"An American tourist drove a new £20,000 car into a tight spot ... jammed it into a narrow footpath which leads to a popular Welsh beach. The two visitors to Tenby in Pembrokeshire went the wrong way, blaming their sat nav for the problem, which left a white Nissan Juke stuck for a week."

It's quite unbelievable the number of people who take routing instructions from GPS as absolute, without applying the information their Mk1 eyeballs are sending them - and that includes some HGV drivers!

This is the moment a driver who had only just passed their test crashed and overturned their car while out riding with five friends.
...
Officers said the driver had only had their licence for two days and was driving with two more people than the four-seater car could hold. All six occupants 'amazingly' were not seriously injured and the driver has been reported for motoring offences.
