It seems to me, from these responses,  there is a widespread problem, but Skoda don't seem to care.

They have not informed their dealers,  ( not mine anyway) and they have not informed their customers.

What is Skoda doing about this serious problem?

Do Skoda care?

Did they test the car before release?

We have all paid a lot of money for the Skoda superb we deserve an explanation!

  • Hello from Latvia! I also bought a Škoda Superb L&K 2.0TSI 4x4 (delivered in May 2024). Everything was fine until October 2024 (I drove around 5000 km at that point). I got 7 warnings related to

  • I got my car back yesterday,  33 miles on, no problems.  I know that is not far, but went wrong after 10 miles when I got it . So, let's hope,  fingers crossed!

Skoda CZ have finally acknowledged, according to my dealer,  there is a software fault on "All New Superb". Let's hope they sort it out quickly

Same info from my dealer today in Hungary. "known software issue by manufacturer and it will be fixed via some future update" but no ETA yet. Quite sad they cant just fix it via some over the air update.

Why did Skoda not discover the faults during testing? Rushed launch so no proper testing?

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi all,

I still have the same problem and I have been chasing both the dealer and Skoda Customer service.

They have not yet given me an ETA on the fix but confirmed that it is with the camera modules and could be weeks/months (but not years!)  before they get the update from the factory to resolve.

The dealer confirmed that this is an issue with a lot of cars they have sold...both Skoda and VW. It seems there are a lot of customer waiting for a fix.

My current position is to wait until end of October and if no fix is in place I will take the legal route.

  • 2 weeks later...

Same here!

First time it happened was with trailer... i dont know if there was connection.

Overheated camera module... something wrong in the fan of the camera module. Fan stop spinning (unknown reason) -> overheat -> shutdown.

Remove rear mirror and covers. If the fan is hot, remove the module and remove plug.

Wait module to cool down and reassemble.  tech skills 8/10 needed.

Allso P2422 coming and going...

Skoda has now said there is a major software failure.  So far they have taken 10 weeks to fix.  Why launch a vehicle  untested?

@celli its happening with almodt every car those mistales and failures from production start. Just relax and enjoy they will fix it…hopefully soon :)

Thank you bazy, when you think it just your car, you think what have I bought.  At least it is everyone

I'm picking my new Superb up on Saturday. Has this software error been sorted by Skoda or should I expect problems?

Does it affect all Superbs or just the 'unlucky' ones?

The software problem has definitely NOT  been sorted. Skoda are giving no estimate of a fix. My Superb has been off the rd since July.

A Skoda executive said on Wednesday......Regarding the software update that is currently in development to rectify the issues with your vehicle, I can confirm that the Škoda Factory is still yet to provide an exact release date for the software, however, I have been advised that this is a priority

Its should be 47 week this year

Thank you,  let's hope. You seem to know more than the executives at Skoda UK

All information helpful

Hi Handyandy

Your car will definitely have the errors, Your car will have been assembled 6 to 8 weeks ago and the parts made before that. There is not a fix yet, so there will not have been when your car was assembled. bazy says not for another month. He seems to have some inside knowledge, he is in the Czech Republic, perhaps he has a connection to the factory?

I would love to hear from you what your dealer says. My dealer says he would not drive the car with all these safety features not working. That is why my Superb has been in the dealer car park since mid July

Look forward to hearing from you

Celli

@celli well i just care, before even i had a car i knew all info about whats working or not from my dealer. Im also in the some czechs social groups and there are some infos about whats going on.

yesterday when i get a car i also ask my dealer about this problem with assistents. He told me it should come hopefully at 47week this year and also if this problem occure to me just  pick a phone and call them for now there is just a fix with reseting software and new setup.

but at czech forum there are two fixes 30minutes unplug your battery or unplug your fuse number 22 it should reset and it also works.

Also my dealer says if there is all those assistents not working its still normally safe to drive so you dont need to be without a car

I think,  when I have paid a lot of money for the "flagship "  model, the Car should work, I don't expect 2nd best.

Also the manufacturer should not be selling a model with faults,  have they not tested it?

Its just birth problems every brand has it :)

Not the Japanese  cars.

If skoda want to be on the world market they have to compete with the Japanese and Chinese..

Selling cars that are not properly tested and unreliable will harm the Skoda brand.

I know people who were thinking of buying a superb,  heard my story,  and have now bought Nissan

I have bought skoda for 30 years,  I doubt I will buy another after this.  I want a car that works and is reliable. This superb is a failure

Well man do those fixes i told you and you ate ok. Whats the problem you can drive a car normally.

superb and buy nissan well you cant even compate those two its just diff class.

i mean if u want big car you buy superb.

Yet Mazda brought the CX60 to market with two very big flaws.  Suspension and Gearbox problems, GB worse on the plug in hybrid.

I collected my new model Superb L&K 2.0 Tsi 265 last Monday and became aware of a couple of software glitches (including no parking brake operation when at standstill) which I intended to take up with the dealer. Today all the warning lights came on and every safety system closed down - even the adaptive headlights. I drove the car briefly but it was evident that it was now unsafe to do so. I will be limping to the dealer tomorrow and will expect a courtesy car until the problem is sorted. If there is an ongoing issue or any delay I will reject the vehicle as unfit for purpose.

My previous Superb Sportline+ 2.0 Tsi190 was my 4th ŠKODA and the best car I’ve ever owned. I guess I should have avoided a brand new model (the first out of the dealership). I am now suspicious as to why there have been no reviews of the 2.0 Tsi 265. Hmmmm…

I was also unhappy on collection with the alignment of the chrome trim between front and rear doors (below the windows) which don’t line up - it looks dreadful.  All the showroom cars were spot on so it’s being referred to ŠKODA for attention (now the least of the issues).

‘Safe to drive’ doesn’t really cut it with a brand new car and furthermore ‘out of sight out of mind’ whilst you’re making do with a vehicle bereft of all safety systems. The dealer will have my car taking up space so hopefully will try a bit harder to get a resolution. I haven’t  paid well over £40k to have a seriously substandard vehicle to carry me around.

You dont know how to drive a car without assistants or how should i understand it?

this sentence really drives me crazy.. assistants offline so i cant drive and its nor safe. I told you guys two fixes which works. Why you just fix it yourself and wait for skoda to bring software update as soon as posaible.

1 more points someone mention if you use your wipers often it does somerhink to camera and assistants goes back online. Anyway im driving from start without them anyway, i dont need them i want to drive a car not only sits in the car

Hi beano, I agree with you,  my superb has been with the dealer since middle of July,  I have had a courtesy car ever since.

I disagree with bazy, I am not paying £45k for a faulty car, I don't spend that sort of money,  then expect to have to disconnect and then reconnect the battery on regular basis

It is called superb because it should be superb,  at the moment,  a better name for the car is crap.

Skoda should be ashamed of launching a car with so many faults . They have obviously taken shortcuts on R&D

Why are they taking so long? ,  my superb has been in the dealers car park for 12 weeks
