  • Personally, not really in the spirit of the forum to be selling the update file.  Also, with no documentation, or indeed any reference to this update on the web, I would not install it at this point.

  • Just for clarification, in the past I supplied a lot of files for free. The costs that I made then we're not high and I could cover it with other works   However since last year the costs fo

  • I have now sourced the 1985 update package and installed successfully.  Everything seems fine but got a long journey tomorrow which will confirm its stability.  I’ll happily share it FOC over the week

Sounds like a bug in the 1985 software to me if it's happening to multiple users. I don't know how you report bugs in the software without going to a dealer and them charging you a diagnostic fee though.

I've just got the 1985 update and it seems to me that Android Auto is bugged. The current behaviour seems to be how it was a couple of versions ago. My icons were down the side, which makes sense for a wider screen. They moved to the bottom. I toggled the option mentioning a taskbar which moved them back to the side again, but the behaviour of the app is the same as it was a couple of versions ago. When I tap either Spotify or Maps, they will go full screen. Before this latest update, whichever app I touched would take up 2/3 of the screen, as it should, since it's a wide screen. They would also swap sides to focus on the app you touched last. Any ideas how to revert this, or is it an actual bug?

Not tried it yet, will tomorrow. But sometimes it seems to change between different marques of phone & derivatives of Android the current version being v.14 or 15.

I tried reverting Android Auto and that wasn't it. I believe it was the Skoda update that broke something

No, not AA, I mean the phones OS. I think that the latest version of Android is v.14 or 15.

There's also settings within Waze you can tinker with too.

The thing with AA is that Google say that the display must have a certain resolution and VAG did it so you have the option now to move the icons to the bottom and vice versa. This is how Google want it.

I toggled that setting to get my icons back to the bottom, but the functionality regarding which app is in focus has changed, to what I seem to remember being how it used to work. Used to be able to tap the app that is taking up 1/3 of the screen and change it to 2/3, toggling between them with each tap. Difficult to explain and figure out if that's how anyone else's functions/functioned

With regard to the AA and the screen getting smaller, icons moving down to the bottom rather than on the side, etc.

I had that after upgrade and I found a setting in AA had been enabled that moved the icons, smaller screen, etc. I disabled widgets and it fixed all the issues I had. It was in Android Auto settings, not the Infotainment system settings.

On the phone, go to settings, apps android auto, additional settings in app and turn off widgets. Then restart the car.

Just for info, after the 1985 update I didn't noticed any issues with CarPlay (I don't use Android Auto). Just to mention that after iOS 18.2 update icons are little different on CarPlay (kind of a minimalistic look).

I'm wondering if my issue is actually related to an Android update. It's difficult to pinpoint, as there's the car software, Android Auto app, the apps that runs, the phone software...

I'm running Android 14, I'm expecting 15 early in the NY.

I'll be changing my phone to an S25 Ultra next year if HMRC and stock market doesn't bankrupt me first. So it'll be interesting to see what happens when with that.

And don't forget the manufacturers have their own overlays on Android and have their own updates.....

I've just had the automatic update from 1940 to 1985. All seems good so far.

The only thing that I still can't quite find is the tweak for Waze to appear as it used to, more often than not it's now full screen.

Just wish it would appear on the dashboard instead.

Bugs I've experienced since updating to 1985 are Kessy no longer working (done a factory reset, worked first time immediately afterward but not since) And my navigation map staying on either day mode or night mode, whichever you select manually, as the Auto switch function no longer seems to work 🤷‍♂️

Never had this bugs by updating manually

Might be worth pointing out that since updating I've had at least 3 OTA app updates, I too did the 1985 update myself.

The bugs I'm experiencing aren't debilitating, just mildly irritating

Yes had the app updates too. But your map and KESSY Problem I don't have it. Only sometimes when it's wet the sensor on the driver door don't work properly.

What is kessy?

Could be what's causing my issue tbh, it's always wet here 😭

I see you have a PHEV.  There is a comment elsewhere on this forum that Skoda have discontinued the ability to switch a PHEV between electric and hybrid modes and to remove the ability in hybrid of setting a minimum charge level for the battery.  ie it runs like a new MHEV.

Since you updated to 1985 do you still have the full PHEV management functionality?

Hello @scotthugh3s,

With regards to the keyless entry issue where the touch handles are no longer working in wet weather (rain, snow flaxes, fog , after car wash ...) you can consult the below DYI guide:
