Fabia vRS - any common problems?

Featured Replies

Had this problem with my old Fabia. Check under the bonnet on the passenger side bulkhead as the washer tube goes through the bulkhead. The 2 connecting tubes come apart. If unsure, get someone to squirt the washers while you poke your head under the bonnet. Just remember to look on the passenger side, just behind and to the right of the engine. You should see the water spraying out! Just need to push the 2 hoses back together again. :)

Sorted - although wife is now a bit wet!!!!!

Ooops.

I think the most common problem that we ALL have had with the Furby vRS is.....

IT'S NOT FAST ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!

If they had satisfied our lust for power, we would not have to do anything to it (but then again where's the fun in that???)

Hi rooboy,

Do you want me to add that to the list? ;);)

If you like. Mine is slightly modified so i've been slightly dumbed down (i think it the drugs that they gave me after the rant about saxos on another thread)

But I need MORE,MORE,MORE!!!!!

AAH the nurse is coming in with my medication....

But it's a powerful diesel, and you would be suprised at the number of people who don't believe it's a diesel when you race them and leave them standing.

indeed 130bhp in a small hatch is not to be dismissed!! I've had a test drive in it and it's out of this word compaired to other diesels on the market!!

You should drive one chipped!!!

Where in london are you?

My 1.4 16v is quicker :D

Near Heathrow.

"If" I do go for the ferby I'd have to chip it..........it would be unpolite not to lol

I just recollected that the Fabia vRS that I test drove' date=' that the "L" position adjusted the right-mirror, and the "R" position adjusted the left-mirror!

Again, not the end of the world as both worked albeit back-to-front.

I've added it to the list on the top of this thread...[/quote']

IIRC.. (i think its the R thats on the top of the switch) the R adjusts both mirrors.

your suppost to adjust the right one ® first, then the Left one (L) then in future, leave it on R which will move both mirrors at the same time.

THat was on earlier models, if you look at the current version, the left and right windows are adjusted independantly (L mirror bottom, R mirror top) with the mirror heater in the centre.

That's the way it's labelled on the switch, but when adjusting the right mirror it also moves the left - this is handy if you get in a car belonging to someone who is taller, as you can just flip it to "R", then tap it up a bit and both mirrors are adjusted equally. If yours doesn't do this then chances are you should take a trip to the dealer... :)

Rob.

Shame it's not a good looking car :tongue2:

Not wanting to upset anyone but I think the Octavia is a more desireable shape.

The Fabia just looks a little bit ugly.

Each to their own tastes mind you, my last car was a Calibra :shiner:

OUt of curiosity I see from the Skoda brochure that the Fabia vRS does 0-60 in approx 9 seconds, does anyone know what sort of times it's achieveing after a Jabbasport remap? Is it close to the Octavia's times or still a way off?

So it does!!! I stand corrected.

It goes down to between 6-7 seconds, cannot tell you accuratly as i need to rolling road it yet.

Well get cracking then, I need to know asap LOL

Friday 2pm sanspeed in south London. I'm also hoping for around 190bhp with everything in.

I've got a tuning box, Green Filters air filter and i've done the airbox trumpet mod and the grill air intake mod to increase the airflow as much as possible without ripping the induction system out or having no air filter.

Like i said, hoping

Did that take alot of work/time/money and where do you stand with insurance?

The intake mods are easy and take 5 minutes to do yourself. All you need is screwdrivers (one phillips, one flat) for the airbox, some Torx keys and a hacksaw for the grill inlet flap.

The green panel filter was about
