  • Glad to report had no problems with mine so far (5500 miles) but the tyres are a bit crap in the wet. Even the grey seats have survived the initial onslaught of oil and charcoal from the kids - get t

  • I also have had no complaints as yet. PDi had been done superbly, no rattles, squeaks or anyhting untoward.

The power steering light i know is just a damp/dirty connection as it had happened on my prevoius 1.4 16v.

A LITTLE!!! they go all the way up the back! and means constant cleaning But thats partly the design of the car (the wedge shape means that aerodynamicaly all the dirt from the road as the car is going along ends up being flung up the back of the car (it is a problem with all Fabias and most other modern hatchbacks)

Totally agree with this statement. My MINI does exactly the same. They get riffy in about 10 metres (literally) of driving in wet weather. Take a look at one when you next see one. The rear-wiper needs to run constantly to allow you to see.

I'll be getting a Metallic black Fabia vRS anyway, so the diesel stains up the back don't worry me too much... yet! ;)

the best colour for hiding dirt is silver, the worst are black(for some reason) and yellow, but it does look nice in black and red of course!

Mini Cooper S "They're Crap" :rofl::rofl: :rant:

Total Quality...Ha Ha

I can tell you ALL from painful experience that the ones that I have been served up are intensely crap. Not to mention dangerous.

just out of interest how old and what sort of mileage have people got on there vRS's?

Picked mine up on 6th Sept so 4 months old and i have done 6050 miles

got mine on 16 october and done 2600 miles

You didn't see Colin's after the Derby meet! His was dirtier than mine! The black certainly showed the dirt more than the yellow! :D Mine shows the soot and general road crud on the boot more though! :(

I got mine on the 4th October and have done 5,800 miles.

cheers for you mileage looks like my will be average then (if/when I get one)

Wahoo! Got me silver Vrs on saturday, 10:30am in the morning, had to get up and sign for delivery. Thought it was going to come at 1pm or something, so there goes me lie in haha.

Done 80miles already, not really had a chance to go any where far yet. Will expect over 500miles by the end of the month hehe.

No problems as yet, but there is this weird sound when you turn the ignition (not starting the engine yet) where there is a guss of sound coming from the back/sides (driver's side), what is it, any ideas??

As there are few guys who's got vrs' from new, just wondering how long does it take to run the car in? 3000-5000 miles? Also is it important to keep below 4000rpms and 3/4 of max speed - approx 95mph (not that i do these outrageous speeds) till the car has run in properly? I swear i havent passed these marks yet :P

The sound is something technical (either the abs system or the injectors priming i suppose) but they all do it so don't worry too much. (or should we all start to worry???) Happy driving!!

Thanks guys for the reply. I thought it was, just that. It disturbed me abit. I couldnt stop thinking abt it at the middle of the night - lost me sleep:(

So any ideas on the "running in" procedure (top speed, max revs etc) or am i on the wrong thread for this?

i was reading through the different topics and was interested in week46's problem with the tailgate release cable being to close to the body and making a strange noise. I too have a noise from the tailgate area sounding like suspension noise, only happens when going over speed bumps or undulations in the road and not pots etc. Did the fault get fixed because it's going to the garage this weekend for them to have a look.

No further on with the noise. My main reason for thinking it was the closing strap was because of the water in the tailgate and the clear mark left with the strap. However, the water was coming from a leaking wash/wipe hose. I am trying the car with the strap stapled together so it doesnt hang down as far - not driven it yet to judge.

Beginning to wonder if the noisy rear suspension is a Fabia vRS fault as there seems to be a few people here with the same problem. Dealer says he's never heard of it on other Fabias but concedes that the suspensions does possible differ enough to have its own individual characteristic fault. Still bugs the **** out of me - sound like the car has the rigidity of a sheet of wood. Grrr.

Im just posting to ask anyone does their fabvrs have the same function as mine.

When you switch to the right mirror to adjust its position the left mirror adjusts as well as the right one.

Switch it to the left, only changes left.

Bit annoyed when i flick on to the "R" and I want to change the right mirror, it changes the left mirror as well at the same time

Does anyone have the same issues or is it meant to function like this?

Mikey.. yes, its suppost to do that :)

and regarding the rear suspension problem.. its a common problem on the latest polo too. apparently VW are working on a solution, but i think its due to the positioning of the rear brakes on the axle.

I have the noise at the rear too - to begin with I thought I hadnt shut the boot properly

Really loud when going over speed humps etc

So are we saying there isnt a fix

thanks for the replys. going to the garage tommorrow and will see what they have to say, doesn't seem like there's a quick fix so i'll just have to turn the stereo up.

I also experience the rear suspension creaks in my Furby. Only really notice it going over speed bumps, when it is very annoying and loud.

Question - I bought my car from a dealer that was not my local one due to availabilty. If I have issues I wish to have looked at under warranty, am I obliged to take it back to the dealer I bought it from? I can';t imagine another dealer would particularly want to look at things as they don't stand to gain anything from it (not that the selling dealer will either, but at least they had my cash in the first place).

The dealer just bills Skoda.

No, you can take it to any Skoda dealer...as Rich says, they just bill back to Skoda anyway.

Rob.

There isnt a fix *yet* VW engineers are working on something.. probably dampers.

Ross Clarke will tell all :D

Is that some sneaky way of promoting the lack of squeeky noises with eibachs ? :really: :D
