I ordered last week, they said it would be in yesterday. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow either way so didn't phone to check whether it had arrived.

Could they be on restricted supply - just to discourage the retro fitting of the MFD? :eek:

More likely Skoda normally keep enough stock for when the clips get broken, whereas suddenly they are getting an influx of people ordering them because of their DIY MFD2 upgrade. There's no way they can predict that, so they don't have enough stock.

The part number as posted by VRStu - ending in L 2AU. Bright Aluminium trim for Nav + Climatronic I think the description was.

Oh, and while Stu was doing all the work, there was some other bloke with a Revo'd 2.0 TFSI based car (fitted with other toys, too) who allowed me to have a bit of a blast. What a stupendous transformation over standard - thanks for the demo, mate.

I have Silver trim around my MFD2. Which I ordered on the 07/10

I went to my other dealer to pick up some paperwork and asked them if they can check the stock levels...

5 minutes later he came back, yes Sir, we can get one for you by Wednesday:confused:

He then proceeded to tell me there are 17 in stock in the UK.:eek:

I then phoned the dealer and asked about it, "oh yes we have it, and we tried to call you on the 17/10" > Checking call list on phone, no missed calls, no messages ?

I must say that the trim does not match as nicely as i though it would against the elegance (almost grey with black diamond overlay), and I may spray it black - or better still order a black one and compare.

The black ones are a lot cheaper Ray.

Perhaps you could post up a nice picture as IIRC you ordered the different part number.

hopefully you can all understand why we all crave for the silver trim, as it does look a little plain out of the factory - if only they sent the car with the trim already in ! (i know they do if you get the VRs)

I do like the fact it makes the Nav stand out, but would have rather had a better match. I am assuming if you buy it factory fitted with an elegance you got the black surround ?

I've never noticed that coloured trim on the Elegance, I really like it.

The silver you have looks the same as ours.

I'm guessing that you have what they call dark neutral weave. Colour code is KK9

So I wonder if you tried to order 1Z0 858 069 L KK9 it exists?

Where do you keep getting these part numbers from ?

Unfortunatly if we put my VIN number in the parts computer in the dealer the silver trim is not available - so we used the VIN from a VRs in the show room.

I cant believe I am the only person to have this trim in an Elegance ?

Can anyone else check their trim carefully ? I must say I prefer the darker trim then the brighter silver.

Ditto on the trim, darker silver background with black & white criss cross pattern going on. Same pattern on the "evil twin" Octy II at work.

I am still interested in some piano black inserts.

Golf GTi or R32 has that style doesn't it? Kind of a Carbon Fibre thing going on.

Stupid question:

Does the dsp mean the separate amp used for sound system?

And can some1 confirm that this works with Skoda Sound System?

Radio MFD2 CD - Controller 56

Softcode should read 00012 for an Octavia fitted with DSP Sound System, Cloth interior and a CD Changer

We don't know that it does work with a DSP system yet. One person has tried but failed so far but we don't know if the unit was coded correctly.
