Limited Edition vRS

Featured Replies

I am going to go with the third rear headrest, heated seats and EDL

I thought all vRS's had EDL (and ASR) as standard. Do you mean ESP.

Also as mentioned by others I don't think there are any options available, all 1000 cars will be the same. If they is any truth in the rumour that successive batches may have better spec I would expect there would be some p****d off people who bought one of the first batch. This reinforces the assumption that they will be all identical ie, no xenons, heated seats, third headrest, park sensors or ESP.

Information about this car has been awful, one salesman from a local stealer assured me it would definately be available on 0%, when I rang back he was on lunch and his colleague said no way!

I won't be ordering one anyway - no heated seats killed it for me.:thumbdwn:

On another point, whats so great about a 6 disc autochanger anyway, give me an MP3 compatible head unit any day!

Yes I did mean ESP

I dont see a problem with wanting to spend more money on a few extras.

The basic Fabia limited is as list at £12990 but there is no mention on any of the Skoda UK information saying I cant pay to add on or no extras aloud.

OK the sunroof might be a no go if the shells are already made but the other bolt on stuff should not be a problem.

I am going to have long talks with my salesman about what I want. I am not bothered if it is factory or dealer fitted all I want is my car to be mine the way I want it. Surely thats not to much to ask for these days when spending £13000 on a car.

by the way has anyone ever heard of a dealer or car company saying sorry we dont want your hard earned cash :D

I hate to be another killjoy and ruin your hopes and plans but when I ordered my SE I was told that there would definately NOT be any chance of changing the spec or adding options to it. The dealer (Norman Fairweather in Dundee) said that all the SE's had been built and were awaiting shipping. He said the only thing they would be able to do would be after build fits (for example Cruise Control, but the SE already has it) I can't see you being able to get ESP on one! I would have liked it but seeing as none of my other cars has had it I don't suppose I'll miss it. I'd much rather have an MP3 player than 6 disk changer as well.I'm thinking of going down the CarPuter or Phatbox under the seat idea? anyone out there done either of these?

HHmmmm

Well that might change things. I am going to speak to my dealer anyway. If I cant add on bolt on goodies such as the heated seats and headrest then I might cancel and spend my money on upgrading my current VRS.

I have been holding of upgrading mine because of the LE

I will let you all know how I get on

I cancelled mine.

Then went and spent the money on a new motorbike instead

Skoda's loss, not mine. My 05 went over the 10K yesterday, so it's not even run in yet, in diesel terms.

Yeah please keep us informed. I'm very interested to see what happens on this.

I am quite suprised by how many existing vRS owners are thinking of changing to an SE. Especially if they loaded it with the options that they wanted in the first place. It was quite simple for me, it was either a special Edition or no vRS since the dealer didn't have a standard one and no more are going to be built.

Hi,

Off the subject a bit but have ordered a LE vRS and like everyone am waiting for them to be delivered, however, in the meantime, i have brought a Road Angel Compact and wanted to know if anyone currently runs one or a similar device on their existing vRS's. The unit does not seem to work with my current car (a Renault) but reaidng on the Road Angel website it says that some cars, including Renaults have a Athermic, comfort or UV windscreen which blocks the GPS signal being located.

Just wondered if i will need to get a MCX atenna in order for it to work with teh Skoda or whether it will work as it is i.e. Skoda dont have these Athermic, comfort or UV windscreen's blocking the signal?

Can someone let me know,.

Thanks.

It's exactly the same for me, except to also add that none of the local dealers have any used ones that matched what we wanted either.

The rarity of new vRS is driving up the prices of second hand ones as well. I fully expect used pristine low mileage ones to be commanding nearly new prices as the lack of new vRS begins to bite. The dealers are not going to have any new ones to sell after the SE's have gone. Norman Fairweather have one (its their vRS demo car) at 3500 miles and they have said that the only way they will sell it before they get a mk2 vRS is if somone stumps up nearly new price.

My sis has a Clio 172 and a Bel detector. She fitted it in the middle of the dash, close to the windscreen. There is a small square area there without any shielding. Maybe the Fabia is the same.

Just to let you know the order date has now been put back further on the LTD Ed's.

It was supposed to be today (19th March), but the Skoda system is not allowing it.

Remember as well that this is only the 'ordering stage'. There is still a delivery period to expect as well. :(

What ???

:orb_sneak

That is rediculous, the cars have been sat in Grimsby for at least 2 weeks ( search for previous thread).

I agree m8 but I suppose it takes a while to prepare a ceratin amount of cars to be shipped initially. I'd imagine they'd have to make sure they can fullfill the first lot of orders.

I've always been told a delivery date of May for mine (April if lucky).

Maybe those who've heard March have misunderstood?

I was told they would first wait until they had enough for "1 for each dealer", then would do the rest after that.

If there were about 100 there intially, and now more have arrived, I would expect they now have enough for the "1 each" shipment, and then would relase more cars as they became available.

I guess logistically they have to make sure that (for example) the first one that a dealer in Hampshire gets isn't the same #/1000 number that someone has asked a dealer in Glasgow for.

As far as delivery was concerned, I was told mid April to begin with, recently with the very small possibility of "end of March" if the 2 people who reserved from my dealer before me don't want that first "1 each" car he gets.

the photos thread showed them with some seats piled outside the cars. Perhaps they are shipped with normal vRS seating ,and the bit that's taking a while is gettting the leather seats all numbers and put into the cars.

Also the pics show the tinted glass on just the back windows, whereas the gallery on the Skoda UK site looks like it is front and back windows which have been tinted, so maybe they have to do that too.

Bu tthat doesn't explain why the orders can't be placed yet - surely Skoda want to know as soon as possible how many have been ordered so far and which numbers are being requested.

I would imagine this is very true and causing the main delay.

I was under the impression only the back sides and rear window were being tinted? Can someone confirm if the fronts are also being done.

As far as I'm aware it's illegal to put much of a tint on the fronts, so it'll be just the backs like on the Fabia Sport.

I think you can do the front section but not the front windscreen, you can only have a tint strip like there is now on the vRS. The car can be failed at the MOT if the windows are too dark and the police can also pull you and have it checked. (thats more likely if you DIY)

well, the dealer special edition demonstrator I posted about here:

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/special-edition-vrs-no-not-one/74120/

had tinted front windows as well as rears. - and they seemd a lot darker than the ones in theo photos from Grimsby

Maybe the offical shots on the skoda webpage are just being "arty" and having all windows tinted looks better than just the back

Anyone know if these SEs are available to officialy order from Skoda yet?

I'm waiting for my local dealer to phone me back regarding availability.

So am I , Ess_three - which Dealer ?
