Maybe the offical shots on the skoda webpage are just being "arty" and having all windows tinted looks better than just the back

I think that will be the case. I think you can tint the front sides but they can't be as dark as the back

Spoke to my dealer (tony lightcliffe,) he said that skoda are not releasing them until there is 1 for each dealer. he specified that the leather that was being fitted in the uk so may not have been fitted to all of those cars that are sat there in grimsby yet, getting so impatient!

yes, I had heard that release strategy too, but surely that shouldn't stop the orders being placed.

This may help -

Initially, every retailer will be allocated and have called off one car each. A second car will also be allocated but will remain in stock at the port. From that point on, each retailer will be eligible to order further cars up to the total maximum allocation for their band. This allocation does not include any vehicles transferred in from other retailers. It represents only your allocation from stock.

Each vehicle will have individual numbers embossed into the leather seats. If a customer wants a specific number you will be able to order that number for them (providing it has not already been ordered by another retailer). Each week a list of chassis numbers will be posted on desktop showing which vehicles have been built and which number seat has been fitted to that vehicle. By taking a note of the chassis number you can then log onto VOT and order the vehicle with the corresponding chassis number. This will only be possible on a first come first served basis. Please be careful when committing individual numbers to customers

Each week more vehicles will be released and the chassis numbers with the corresponding seat number will be posted on desktop. Those vehicles that have been ordered already will be removed from the list. It will not be possible to reserve specific seat numbers for vehicles that have not been released onto the system. Our target is to have all 1,000 vehicles released by 1st May.

I have just traded in my 06 black VRS for a SE model dealer told me i could not pick a seat number and could not get xenons as all 1000 cars are the same spec .

The dealer also says delivery date would be late april ,he hoped. The dealer has been allocated 8 SE models with little or no chance of getting any more.

Looking forward to the new one coming after trying to secure a trade in price for the 06 as the dealer did not know when the SE model would arrive and was not keen on giving me a price for my 06 plate

Just picked up a flier for the LTD ED and it shows where the seat numbers will be etc.

Look below the VRS badge on the seat and you may be able to see the numbers 347 embossed onto it.

If you've got 1000 of them to do, I would imagine embossing them (aka hitting it with a FG hammer) would be the best way to get individual numbers on them as an afterthought-type process. I have an "Airbag" logo embossed on the sides of my mine and it looks quite good.
