  2. Skoda used to be good honest cars, thedealers were good honest dealers, they were helpful, very helpful. Now I am not so sure. We have a Karoq and a Kamiq, both 22 plates. It's been mentioned before - the Kamiq, you have to control far too much via the touch screen, that for the ventilation is a massive and a potentially dangerous situation and the lag getting it to work or return to where you were times is far too long. The annual charge of £80 for updates and connected features is pathetic, the maps and speed information are wrong all over the place, satnav giving direction in contravention of a S22 - direction road sign - immediate 3 points. I raised a report about it once, their promise was a 7 day reply - well that was actually a month, then no further reply to my reply. Voice control - absolute joke! Of late I have noticed that when listening to DAB radio various stations repeatedly drop out. Now I have noticed this as I've been travelling the same routes in both our Karoq and our Kamiq - a totally inferior listening experience. I just wish I had noticed it in it's warranty. But I do have a Skoda service plan and an extended warranty. Today I rang the dealership and explained the issue, yes it is something they could look at but then burst the bubble by blabbing on about a possible charge, a not insignificant £130, I asked if the extended warranty would not cover it? We won't know until we look, was their response. So I could end up with a bill then...... Pathetic! Now I like my Karoq but I had a minor paint issue around the pseudo brake cooling vents in the front bumper, still in warranty then, sadly and from a different dealership just repeated fob-offs, perhaps it should have gone further but with way bigger life and family issues to manage - it is just a bit of plastic. Overall I am really disappointed and not feeling much love towards Skoda. I think I might cross the gap to Kia.
  3. Sorry, where is the file on here ?
  4. I believe this is just the Infotainment system software and not the software in the ECU which only Skoda dealers can update. For example the fix to ensure Kessy does not lock the car with the let’s inside could only be done by a dealer.
  5. Call me a cynic, but I'm guessing to qualify, you need to finance it with them, take out the Gap insurance, have it Diamonbrite'd, order a boot mat, mudflaps......
  6. Hi, One of my friends faced that with an Opel Corsa in the early 2000's. We finally found a leak at the lower edge of the windscreen. There was a thin hole in the windscreen bonding. I suggest having a look there.
  7. Once fooled by Autodoc too. Never ordered again. Neverminds if I pay a bit more as long as there's no bad surprise.
  8. Today
  9. Hi, I'll check if I have 0334 version too, but I had the same updates twice today. 🙄 A bit irritating in the end...
  10. You can have a look over the User Manuals (https://www.skoda-auto.com/apps/manuals/Models) The main differences are the implementations of GSR2.0 Phase 3 (enforced as of July 2026). I think the requirement that impacts the end-user the most is the implementation of Advanced Driver Distraction Warning (ADDW) (camera-based, sensor located in the rear-view mirror), which can be annoying to some. It is the same system implemented already in the latest-gen Superb and Kodiak. The answer I received from the Skoda Infoline regarding a similar question: "All Octavia vehicles produced from calendar week 14/2026 onwards are compliant with GSR2 Phase C"
  11. Hi guys - I can still move the seat around but when I come to use the memory setting buttons - nada. So does this mean it's not a fuse issue? If not what else could be the problem?
  12. I got this today from the dealership where I purchased my Karoq: We have a truly amazing opportunity for you - starting 9am, Friday 18 September. For 10 days only, we are giving you the chance to purchase a brand-new Škoda at cost price. Yes, the very same price that we pay! This exclusive, limited-time offer has been made possible due to an unexpected release of only 150 brand new 76 reg vehicles, made available to us by Škoda UK for sale in September. Due to these exceptional savings, we anticipate high demand for these vehicles so we are limiting to one purchase per household. Orders must be placed between 18 and 27 September and delivery by 30 September to qualify. As always, our team will be on hand to assist you with any enquiries and ensure a seamless experience. Anyone else getting these 'out of this world' sort of treatment?
  13. Hi, I haven't fixed any of these yet, DFM wire is still disconnected.. But I don't think I've run into any issues so far; do you know what kind of situation this might lead to?
  14. Thanks for the help @Graham Butcher Much appreciated. 🙂
  15. Look to see if there's a wire coming from any of the inner brake pads.
  16. The module lives under driver's seat on a RHD T5, and they do suffer condensation problems on the non-waterproofed loom connections. This particular unit has several corroded connector pins, so some shorting may well have occurred. Also, it's around 20 years old so the relays will have 'lived a bit'.
  17. Hi my brake pads seem to be well worn my fabia mk4 has done 2k miles and has DSG transmission

  19. OK, forget the PJ53 part, that is just code to identify the the manufacturer, who does not seem to be around any more. The import part of the number is GS1J which is 1A diode with a reverse voltage withstand of 600V.. That means that any diode with that code of GS1J will be a direct replacement. The concerning thing is why did it explode in the first place, it might well do the same again if you replace it. From experience on a VW Passat, this module is located in a compartment in the front passenger footwell, and they can suffer from moisture ingress as the floor pan rusts away. So it might be the moisture that caused it to explode. The only place I can see that has any is an eBay seller, link to it follows, Price is £3.55 and postage is £2.75. If you can locate either a GS1K (800V) or a GS1M (1,000V) then they would also be a suitable replacement. GS1J/SMA DIODE GEN PURPOSE 600V 1A SMA GS1J-SMA 'UK COMPANY SINCE 1983 NIKKO' | eBay UK
  20. I think that you are correct in it being a diode https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/188542129948 Just make sure that you get the correct physical size. It looks like an SMA (DO-214AC) surface-mount diode package with a nominal body dimension of 4.4 x 2.7 x 2.3 mm
  21. If it got worse wen turning it may well be a bearing or perhaps a inner/outer cv joint? Perhaps a second opinion as you said. Alasdair

  25. I apologise as I am sure the answer is in the forums, but there a lot of conflicting posts I have a Superb, PHEV 2020, SE-L. The stereo has gone insane. First it had terrible connectivity issues, then it kept turning off the mic? Crazy. Now though, it reboots the whole unit every 45-60 seconds. Black screen, back to the Skoda logo - just like I'd held down the power button. I tried resets, pulling the fuse etc, but it's to no avail. Any ideas? Is it software/firmware first? This seems to be expensive to do at a garage, and they said there was no guarantee of a fix. Skoda apparently want £3k to replace the unit? I could buy a plus center unit, but I'm worried it will be shiiiiiit. Thoughts? Cheers Skoda hivemind!
  26. Convenience control unit (central locking plus alarm) from a VW T5 transporter. See 2nd post.
  27. It is a diode, I'll go through my data sheets for info and hopefully be able to identify an equivalent item. What is it from?
  28. I contacted 5 services and all said they do not install or update the navigation and the map. Actually you can be sure that you know the subject far more better than them. So i can not get help from them as they know nothing from the issue. I will look vw site, i hope i find the solution. As you suggested i tried chatgpt and it gave me a link of Turkey map if it is correct. But, the link does not work. The link: OI_P169_TUR_202612_Offline_Update.zip
