2025 Octavia VRS Coolant Issue
My 1.8 had a similar problem. I asked my local dealer (Fred Rees in Haverfordwest) to sort it whilst it was in for a scheduled service. When I got the car back they said "Yes, you have a coolant leak . . No, that wasn't on the schedule so we didn't sort it". A little two man garage around the corner knew what the problem was immediately. The water pump gasket was leaking. They fixed it for me.

Help! my Mk2 Fabia VRS is killing new batteries.
My VRS has managed to completely kill 2 brand new batteries in the space of less than 24 months. The issue first started when the original battery with the car (yes I know I should have replaced it years ago) started draining overnight/when it was left standing. So I then bought a brand new Exide battery and things were ok for a few months. Then the car started draining the battery again, eventually resulting in it just not taking any charge at all. At this point I once again bought a brand new battery, but Bosch this time. That seemed to fix it as the battery never went flat and therefore there were no charging issues. Then I came to start the car earlier today and it was dead, completely dead. I got out my charger that you plug into the house electricity socket and started trying to charge it, but as soon as I connected it the charger said the battery was fully charged and wouldn't charge it any further. It gave me enough electricity try and start it but it was still dead, the relays clicked for about 2 seconds and then stopped. I now have to purchase a third new battery in less than 24 months, but the problem still remains and I have no idea what that problem is. I'm posting on here in the hopes that someone had a similar experience or some knowledge that could point towards the component/system that is either shorting/huge parasitic draw/broken/etc. Here's some further information that may or may not be relevant. When this first started I took to leaving the doors open and the alarm off, so the alarm and remote central locking was not active when this happened. The car had been standing for about a week I noticed that for a lot of the battery flat instances that it had been raining beforehand, and that before this happened we had a huge downpour and thunderstorm. I also notice that on cold mornings the relays for the electric power steering will click whenever I turn the wheel. Other than that I really don't know. I'm hoping that someone here could help me. oh I meant to add if you need any further information please ask. Thank you, Eddfaf

the truth about electric cars
Just how do the RAC arrive at that fact? I wonder, when there are more ICE (a mix of pure ICE and hybrids and PHEVs), the latter are highly unlikely to be plugged in compared to the pure electric ones being registered. Do you have anything to back up that interesting snippet? Regarding the Renault 5, I'm not at all surprised by what your dealer told you. That car has been widely accepted as a car worthy of consideration. One thing for certain is that if it was also available in drive variants, then the availability issue would be far worse than it currently is.

waze direction arrow incorrectly displays on centre consol
Waze used with usb connection from Samsung A17 on a 2026 Karoq. Problem: turn direction arrows appear correctly on info system screen (waze display) but are corrupt on the driver centre console. This has been a problem from day one of ownership. example: waze might show turn next left but console shows turn right example: waze might show turn next right at roundabout but console indicates "do a U turn"! A solution would be appreciated.

2025 Octavia VRS Coolant Issue
I have a 2025 Octavia VRS with 23k miles, it’s been using coolant, I wouldn’t expect this from a car of this age, there’s no wet spots on or under the engine. There has been an intermittent low level coming in for low coolant, level was topped up with manufacturer coolant today. I can’t get an appointment with a dealer or my lease company garage for two weeks. Am I worrying about it too much or is this a common issue for the VAG 2.0tsi engine

Not that hard to change, if you're competent enough to remove the bumper readily. Home/DIY refilling is definitely a bad plan though.

Display showing boot open when closed and warning chime sounding when driving - Skoda Superb MK3 SE with power boot
So did you resolve the issue.. my Superb is doing the same kinda thing.. I don't get any dings but sometimes the tailgates does not pull in and close... and sometimes it does, but if it doesn't I get the tailgate open warning in the middle of the dash cluster and I need to get out, open the tailgate again and close it but when it's about an inch away from the latch I give it a little helping hand and it closes properly. Doesn't happen all the time tho..

- How Do I Stop the Sat Nav?
The touch and swipe never worked for me. What did work I posted previously back in 2025 Good Luck tom Sanqhar9 March, 2025 I have done it after touching (not swiping) the '>' to the right of the destination name. Most of the time this brings up a menu that includes an 'Edit' option. Touch 'Edit' and the 'Delete' option appears. I say "most of the time" because sometimes it does not seem to work. I have not yet worked out why. Not a swipe anywhere. It was in an older version of the Owners Manual P186 "Delete destination ▶ In the Navigation main menu, tap the function surface → Destinations. ▶ Tap the functional surface and select the desired list of destinations. ▶ Show the destination details by tapping on the function surface at the de- sired destination. ▶ Tap the function surface Edit . ▶ Tap the function surface Delete and confirm the deletion. I had misread the significance of '>' in the third bullet point. Sorry the cut and paste seems to have blocked this out- the truth about electric cars
And cars registered on the road are not necessarily the ones doing the miles. RAC reports than EVs are doing more miles per car than ICE cars. Just talking to my Renault Dacia Sales guy and he is telling me that they are struggling to get enough 5s for customers such is the demand and even ordering now might mean the car next year. So many new EV models on the way, updates for 5 and Scenic as well as Sandero EV version although Dacia still planning to do a petrol version. Diesel long gone i gather. VWs future looks to gang on the ID2 variants and whilst the Polo looks good and not bad spec the Raval and Epiq look better and better value. Looks like a dire situation for VW in Germany as these ID2 variants are Spanish made I gather. Polo, Fabia, Ibiza production ending. There is clearly only one direction for the dominant power train for all vehicles. As Yazoo said, the only way is up.Mattathm started following Skoda Superb Mk3 (2015 - 2023)- New windscreen
Hit by a stone on the M6 during the storms the other week. Made a huge bang but couldn't see the damage straight away as it was behind the rear view mirror. Because of the proximity to all the ADAS stuff it needs a new windscreen 😭 A few cm lower or to the left it could probably have been replaced. Hope this doesn't turn into a tech saga 😐 Anyone had a new windscreen and encountered any issues?GWoodhouse started following New windscreen- Subwoofer solution in Superb iV (hybrid) with Canton
This is why I love forums, just whipped the tags off the plug, flipped it over, 5 minute job and it’s transformed the sound entirely. Nice one @spacelord- Trip mileage
Yeah, press and hold. Didn't think of that. And not in the manual. Thanks for the suggestion- the truth about electric cars
Yes, but registrations aren't sales, are they? Look at the number of new car sales currently on; the discounts are only applicable if the car is registered by a given date, by the new owner.- Recommendations for timing chain kit 1.2 htp 55plate
Gates or INA would be my recommendations. Used the latter on my old Vectra B and it's somehow still going...IIgor joined the community- the truth about electric cars

Slower EV charging was my main concern. Hope to have 3 phase at the next place.
