GPS ISSUE: Software 330 vs 332?
I have a Samsung phone and my wife iPhone and both work perfectly fine. I like this function to read the speed signs but it seems that it cannot function without the navigation. It pulls the data from the sign and then after 10 seconds, reversed back to gps/map data and that data is wrong. If I had the option to separate the two, just use the system to read the signs, without any input from the navigation, I would never even touch this problem.

GPS ISSUE: Software 330 vs 332?
Almost the same symptoms that drove me mad for months - 'Online Services Controller' - the only difference is my iphone was also affected when connected to the Apple Play in the car.......? That false speed limit business really bugged me - some days the car thought it was on the beach at Skegness - and we live 70 miles from the coast....!
- Airbag light after glovebox removal. VCDS in Ayrshire/Glasgow/Stirling to clear it?

Provided your usual garage has the equipment necessary to scan for DTCs recorded and have suitably qualified technicians, there should be no reason they would not be able to fix the problem.

Power Steering Hose
So I have a SKODA Fabia I Combi (6Y5) 1.2 64 hk which I´m trying my best to keep on the road. The latest issue happened when I suddenly lost power steering while driving off a motorway. When I got it home I noticed a pool of fluid under the hose where it has corroded and leaked over time. I bought a new hose from Autodoc and figured out how to remove the old one. But when as soon as I took the new one out of its packaging I noticed the banjo hose fitting was wrong. The old one has a 16mm opening while the new one has 14mm. See photo. I´ve spent the past few hours trying to find an alternative on Autodoc and other sites. I´ve been seaching other Fabia models and other car models to find a compatible product. Some products list the banjo size, most don´t, as 14mm. The OE number is given as 6Q1 423 893 but I suspect that my one has another number. Hope you guys can help. Anyone else had this issue?

4 Warning lights coming on
I have had my Scala for over 4 years now and I'm very fond of the vehicle. It has given no problem until yesterday, when starting it, 4 warnings lights came on, together with the wording in quick succession, Manouevre braking currently unavailable ABS/Stabaliser ESC currently unavailable Lane assist unavailable Front assist unavailable Error Tyre Pressure Loss indicator I noticed on this site that a Skoda owner had slightly similar experiences with warning lights coming on in his Superb. Two people replied that it sounded like a faulty wheel speed sensor. Would it be possible this is the case with my Scala? Replies much appreciated. Thanks.

Factory Steel spare wheel
Sisted-in-law asked me to check the tyres in her 2017 1.2 110 bhp SE Fabia, as I often do when we visit her. I removed the factory steel spare wheel, which is full size and fitted with the same size tyre as the four alloy wheels; 185/60 R15. But it’s had thd yellow 80km/h speed restriction sticker like the skinny space saver spare. Anyone any idea why?

Thank you .... but what to do?? Would I have to take it to a Skoda dealer (nearest is 30 miles away!) or could my usual garage sort it??

Start/Stop ERROR on screen, mechanic suggest Injector
After you explained to him that the car has been sat for three months did he clear the code to see if it returned?

1.2 TSI drive shaft heat shield loose
Just done a full service, and found this heat shield over the inner cv loose even though the bolts were tight. 5Q0407721 My thoughts that over time the metal washer inserts have become loose, refitted it with repair washers to nip it up. No rasping sound now on over run, so must have been that. Did sound quite good to be honest 🤣 Anyone else had any experience or fitted a brand new one before?

Can’t complain about this mpg.
Best mpg I’ve recorded with my 2023 2.0 TSI Sportline, 52.2 mpg on a 56 mile trip M25 & M1, running at 55-60 mph mostly. Outbound trip this morning was 44.1 mph at similar speeds. I’ve just started using Shell VPower unleaded could this be a factor or just coincidence.

Skoda UK Customer Support are useless!
I wish Škoda UK Customer Support lived up to the brand’s “Simply Clever” catchphrase but in my experience sadly not. I’ve mentioned before in this forum that I’ve been having problems with media playback from a usb stick. After many months of gritting my teeth and trying to live with it I decided to have one last attempt at finding a solution myself by checking that the folder and file structure I use on the usb stick complies with any limitations of the infotainment system. The manual only gives information of what type of media files are supported but nothing about any limitations on file size, folder size, max files in a folder, max files on the stick etc. etc. I emailed customer support saying that I have been experiencing problems with the infotainment system and so that I can check that I’m not exceeding any limitations could they please supply me with information regarding the items I mentioned above. Their reply was “we are sorry that you are experiencing problems with your infotainment system, please speak with your Skoda retailer to arrange for a diagnostic check of your system”. Considering too a recent experience in the Superb when it suddenly performed an emergency stop while travelling at 70mph in the middle lane of the M20 with no apparent reason it’s the last straw for me. I’m getting rid of the Superb and going elsewhere. I’ve had a number of test drives over the last week, the 2026 Honda Civic eHEV is top of my list. Not as luxurious or as spacious as the Superb and lacks some of the toys but boy what a fantastic drive! It’s a long time since I’ve driven a car that handles so well. The sort of car I’d find excuses for going out in rather than reasons for not going out in the Superb because of my frustrations with it. On my 40min test drive the trip meter said the car achieved 62mpg, Bose sound system beat the Canton hands down and the top trim comes in at a tad under £40k so no luxury car tax. As the song goes, “so long, farewell, it’s time for me to go…”

Very possible that a ABS wheel sensor or connection got damaged during the tyre blowout.

GPS ISSUE: Software 330 vs 332?
No, just downloaded the file here and updated it over usb, no modifications whatsoever. Resolves the user login issue at least :) Maybe it needed a bit after the reset.

GPS ISSUE: Software 330 vs 332?
Unless alterations were made other than simply carrying out a normal software update, I cannot see how that could affect a warranty in any way. Actual modifications might if they do spot something non-standard though.

GPS ISSUE: Software 330 vs 332?
It seems that I do. Today I went from my garage and drove for 30min. Gps had the false location the whole time. I don't use, but it keeps messing my speed sign reading and the warning pops up. I am driving 80km/h with 80 being the speed limit and suddenly it drops to 30 because according to the car, we are in some street which has 30 speed limit and it's 700m away from us. The car was then parked outside for 4h and the drive home, it worked perfectly. I've updated the system on my own, but will be going to the service center on Wednesday (different issue). Do you think me upgrading on my own voids anything or creates additional issues for me?

GPS ISSUE: Software 330 vs 332?
I think you now have two problems. Your original issue with incorrect GPS positions is very likely to be an antenna problem - it's not uncommon for the roof seal of the 'shark fin' to fail and allow water ingress to the antenna base.
